Hey Finally got Beta6 working, seem to be having the same issue as i was weeing in Beta5.1.
Not getting any preview when running the camera.
the shutter operates and the photo is added to the gallery, but nothing on the view finder/preview screen.
Any one seeing this issue or is there a fix.zip/updated APK?

Do you have 2ndinit recovery installed? if so, uninstall it and remove the app.
Same problem with CM7 RC0, i think the problem was in Nordic sbf. Any idea?

Is it possible to have the MIUI camera app in the CM7 nightlies ? It is way better than the stock crappy android camera. Thanks in advance.
MIUI is based on cm7. So it should be. Extract the camera.apk from miui-rom.zip in /system/app and install it.
I tried it but it cannot be installed this way. Any other options ? I also tried manually pasting tha apk in the system/app, setting the permisions and rebooting, but even though it appears in the drawer, it gives FC.

Why can't you install it?
It does not work that way. Missing some framework files from the MIUI Rom.
But Honestly - where did you see that MIUI camera is better?
I'm using MIUI Rom, with Android Camera, because the video recording on the MIUI camera is piss-poor quality. Photos are almost the same. no big differrence.
Anyways, the latest working I found is v17 from 1.4.22:

For everyone with Miui V4 or CM9 Download this app for camera fix (only basic support, no camcorder yet.)
1. enter the market and search for: Defy Camera. you will find: Defy ICS camera
2. download the app to your rom.
3.launch the app and camera will load.
Bugs: No slideshow and reboot is nedded when you exit the app/
Update: i'm not trying to take credit on Epyslon3's work, I'm making one post only for Defy ICS Camera. Red lens support is included in cm9 latest nightly, i will upload a fix for wiui v4 users
Please state that this works for green lens only.

It's already implemented in the latest Miui V4 and CM9 roms..... and yh like Godslayer said it's only working on green lense

No it's Epsylon himself (Tanguy Pruvot) who made it for test... ;-)
a have bayer device and defy camera dont work. cm9 10th
After I flash CM10 rom @ 4.1.1 JB and installed Camera360, when I take some photo and then goto Photo Gallery and lead to force close.
Anybody have same condition?? and Help me to rectify...
P.S. even i re-flash the rom and also encounter the same problem...
you get FC with the stock camera app?(camera 360 uninstalled)
the problem is with a faulty update from ROM Manager... they fixed it with a new update but if you wan to get your pics and music back go to the following thread -

I tried some custom roms on my OG. I installed Xenon Hd 5.1 rom , and i noticed that the flashlight doesnt work in camera app. I tried lots of camera apps. But the result was same. I returned back to stock 4.4.2 using lg flashtool, but problem was still there. I CAN USE FLASHLIGHT WITH TORCH APPS BUT I CANT USE WITH CAMERA !!!!!!:banghead: It makes me crazy. Now, i m using sling kahroba edition with unlocked bootloader and Cwm. How can i fix it or can i fix it ? :what:

Hi, I manually downloaded MIUI gallery apk version 3.0. Everything works just fine, but when trying to edit photo and save it chrashes all the time. Has anyone experienced this issue so far?
I'm on official global MIUI rom, android pie.
