Help getting PRL file - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My gf's phone does not want to update prl via *22899. Every time i do it, it just reboots the phone and prl remains the same. So i found how to manually do it but the problem is that i cannot fine the prl files. The only ones i did fine were from like a year ago. I know i had seen a website where you can download them but i cannot find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to whomever helps me!

Found this earlier it should help you. http://www.roamingzone.com/prl/#Verizon

I found it earlier too. I don't know if its because I'm looking too hard for it but I don't see any type of file I can download on there.

XDA app issue

keep getting a force close on the xda app, error comes up as "com.quoord.tapatalkxda.activity", tried a search for that but got no results.
Anyone have a clue about what may be going on.
Nevermind, I got it figured out.

Market fix for 3.28 OTA leak

I flashed a rom yesterday and they creator said he implemented a market fix for the 3.28 ota leak and the market was working great.
But since moved on and am trying the stock 3.28 odexed but the market is jacked up. Many apps do not show up.
Has anyone documented what this fix is? And what is it?
I believe the guy said it was nothing more than changing the ver. Number but didn't say where he changed it.
In my infinite stupidity I have forgotten what rom it was, I thought it was vaelpak but I can't find in his changelog anything about a market fix.
Can anyone lend a helping hand? For myself and others.

Ok so all I had to di was check one more thread to find the rom.. it was dangerdroid... and I never did flash it I was hinking about it though. I just recall him saying he used a market fix.
I have asked him for the fix if possible but if anyone knows what it is and if I can implement it on the 3.28 odexed I woupd appreciate it

Here is the fix per illogic6 creator of dangerdroid rom.

Yeah, man. Comment out the build fingerprint in your build.prop and replace it with this.
Code:
ro.build.fingerprint=sprint/htc_supersonic/supersonic/supersonic:2.2/FRF91/218634:user/release-keys
You may need to clear Market cache in Settings, but protected apps should work after that.

You mean it wasn't just me that was having issues downloading from the Market? That's a relief.

This may work well in the dev section also, for now at least. More traffic over there.

As it is a question I thought I should at least ask here first.

It's GREAT to see that there are users that know this. One wouldn't believe how many posts we get like this in Dev that are immediately replied to with "RONG SEKTION, Q A PL0X"
Anyway, I believe you need to use abd during the install, not sure though and there are people that can explain it better than I can anyway. +1 for the idea though

I'm pretty sure you need to do an adb pull while the update runs. But, wait for someone more educated than I to give you further instruction, as I have no idea in hell how to do it
quick google search yielded this.

idk if it would work but you can try.
It sounds like root is needed. Her phone isn't rooted. Does anyone know of a way without root?

Found this in the desire forum. Would this work for the incredible as well?
The OTA .zip files which are downloaded from a Google server are not signed the same way as the RUU "rom.zip" files - they use the app .apk manifest signing method. (manifests and certs a la "jarsigner").
If you are interested in looking at the process that HTC/Verizon uses for the OTA updates, you can get the URL for the OTA zip the following way:
Run logcat on the pc and accept the update on the phone
$ adb logcat > logcat_accept.txt
This will sit like this (it continues to log output into the output file) until the phone reboots. At that point, the adb logcat job will terminate, and the name of the zip file will be indicated in the logfile in a message similar to:
W/SystemUpdateHelper( 64): !!! REBOOTING TO INSTALL /cache/desirec-ota-104882.7b1e5cca.zip !!!
Then, take the name of the file and paste it on the end of android.clients.google.com/updates/partner

New Market Update 3.4

Here is the newest update of Google Market:
http://www.multiupload.com/O7AIK6RLAL
This was actually posted about 5hrs ago. Best thing to do so there are not 2 duplicate posts of the same thing is to search or just view this thread. Hit the search, type in....new market or what not & you'll see if anyone else had posted this topic.
Tip: This is what I did to avoid what you did (The search button is your friend)
You may want to delete your thread or just add your link to my post.
I still appreciate it, the other thread would not allow me to download straight to the phone, this one did.

Nevermind, I found the other post about it with more info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1391266

Why yes I am using Google Voice for my voicemail I believe. How did you solve your friend's problem? Thanks so much for the quick reply dude!
That's the funny part. I don't really know what he changed to get it to start in the first place but all I do know was we changed some setting on the computer it was much easier to use the website then the phone. It was driving me nuts because I was flashing a rom at the time and out of no where the phone stopped working to I brought his phone to work on it and it just started to work. So I guess I would start by turning of Google voicemail in the settings and then you might have to give it a few to start to work then you should be good to go.

So you don't know which setting that he changed?
Nope we seemed to change them all but we ended up just disabling it at the end because he did not like Google voicemail anyway sorry I wish I new what would have really worked but all I do no is that Google voicemail was his problem at the end. sorry man but trust me that was the problem.

It should be under settings/phones,you would do this from the google voice website once you sign in online the settings are on the far right, the tool icon.
Soooo stupid. I chatted with Sprint customer service and anyone who is having this problem heed my words. They told me to take the battery out, wait for 30 seconds, and restart. At first I was like...your sh****ing me right, generic advice...really Sprint? Then I did it and voila, my phone could make phone calls again.
