My daugher's phone can't read the internal memory nor will my computer. She has had the phone for about a year and now this problem just happened. Last year I rooted the phone and gave it superuser. I took out the bloatware and it was running fine for a year. My computer can read the external sd just fine. Tmobile told her it was because she wasn't running froyo. It will boot up fine but everything is a fc if you can unlock it at all. I can put it into recovery but it errors out because it can't read the memory Is there anything I can do at all?
How about going to recovery and clicking
Wipe/restore factory
then after that apply a rom such as cyanogen again.
then reboot it, and see if that works?

You actually don't use the touch screen in recovery, only the volume buttons, track pad, and power button. Unless you mean the screen doesn't show anything...

Did that the touch screen still doesn't work
follow my "How to un-root" link, on my signature.
Then go to a tmobile store and say your touchscreen doesnt work.. they might fix it, or replace it.

I can't unroot I can't access the internal sd card. When I go into the recovery i get a pic of a phone and a red triangle. I hit the power and vol up. Then I get a error E: can't open /cache/recovery/command. I hit wipe data/factory rest. I reboot the phone and the touch screen still doesn't work. All I can do is toggle the screen off and on with the power button

The SD Card is a external card..Not internal, do you mean the ROM chip(Contains INT memory)? Remove the SD Card by removing the battery cover, and replace it, then just put the files to unroot. If you have a picture of a Red triangle then you need to get CWM. Computers can only access the Internal Storage through ADB/Fastboot, it doesnt appear w/o those on Windows/Mac/etc.. And can you take a pic of the screen while in recovery mode, so i can understand better.

So, I had Supernova rom and it worked perfectly. I did used dropbox hack to get more GB and since then it's gone crazy. Every few seconds crashed apps etc. So i've decided to format it all and reinstall it. I used quickboot to get into recovery since my power button is dead.
I can use lower volume when pluging in battery to get into first screen but can't choose recovery. Is there any program so I can flash it from here?
Is there really no way for me to do anything about it except to repair the power button?

Got it. Tnx man. Will try to reflash it now.
Have another problem. If I delete something from sd card, it shows right back up. If I copy something onto the card, it's not there. If I format it, still the files are there. Probably broken?

You have the problem when you mount the SD partition in recovery, when mounted on a PC under Android, with an explorer like Astro ? can you be more precise ?
Similar problem
I had something similar yesterday. I thought i bricked the device or something but that I was pretty sure I didn't. It was only vibrating, so after some googling i found out the power button is broken.
I managed to get it booting again after the battery was fully drain and charged up again. I quickly went to the settings in my rom (BCM 4.0) and enabled the option so the trackpad can also wake my device. Also got an app called screen off and lock, whch enables you to lock your device from the notification area.
I do have a linux device with the adb options, which helped me get into the recovery, as that was a problem with the broken button. I had the same problem that I was able to get into fastboot, but couldn't do anything. Make sure you run a rom that has the trackpad wake, or something similar.
Luckily I didn't simply go buy a new device, even though the power button is broken it'll still run for quite a while still I hope. Love my device
Ok so long story short, I accidentally wiped the system when in recovery and now my phone only boots to the google logo and hangs. I cant get into boot loader because it seems the volume up button doesnt work. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can my phone back up and running or is it just shot at this point?
You hold both volume buttons down to get into fastboot.
adb
I cant hold the volume up button for anything, it doesnt work anymore.

right now im using the nexus root toolkit, flash stock/unroot because of softbrick, to see if that works then i can reflash.
the whole reason this nightmare started is because i flashed to team oes nightlies rom and there was no google play store lol. i let gooim update and it kept looping saying android cant start, so i figured id clear the cache and oops pushed the wrong button

thanks I'll try that if this doesnt work. I do have another question, Im trying to get my kyocera jax info onto my nexus, ya ya ya I know "obama phone", but the way I see it is Im in wifi at work and home so the only time I need an actual service is when Im driving or out because the rest of the time I can use google voice which = 0 bill . so what all info is needed just to get talk and text mms working?
Fix that volume up key, its your best shot. That should be your main concern.

1. Connect your phone to your computer
2. Type "adb wait-for-device reboot recovery" at your command prompt/terminal(at your computer)
3. Flash your ROM
4. Done
If you don't have a backup of your ROM at your internal sdcard, then either mount it at recovery, and if the mounting fails, use this:
"adb push rom.zip /sdcard/rom.zip" (replace rom.zip with the name of your rom)
And, get the volume button fixed, you won't always be with your computer when trouble passes by

I've recently did a hard reset to my Nokia X, I've done some googling and couldn't find a solution for this.
Even thought my SIM card is correctly mounted, when I boot my phone it doesn't show up. When I try to go into settings>>Phone>> Dual SIM it shows up this error "Can't do this com.android.phone at the moment" (I know it sounds weird but that's what it says)
I've already tried looking for a phone/dialer application running and clean it's cache but nothing is there, I've also looked in /data and there isn't a com.android.phone.
I am missing the Phone and the People applications as well. any solution?

I would recommend you to flash the stock ROM once again using the Nokia care suite. Maybe when you did hard reset, it didn't complete properly. The reason you get that error is because you are missing phone.apk

Its way simpler to use. Follow these steps.
1. Just boot your phone in fastboot mode or download mode. To do that switch off your phone. Press Volume down + Power button. Once your phone vibrates take your finger from the power button. Keep pressing volume down for around 10 seconds.
2. Now connect your phone to your PC using a USB cable. Make sure that Nokia X flasher is running.
3. It will detect your phone. Now select your system.img and boot.img files, from your stock rom.
4. Click Start Flashing and voila, your phone is flashed.
First, I just got to root my phone and got stuck in loading screen, then I followed the steps to get my phone working again, then I've got into recovery mode and use the Press Hold Power Button + Volume Up key , then I saw plenty of options to choose, I don't want to format my phone, I just want to get back into my main screen, Then I've wiped the cache by mistake.. Then I Turn it off and turn it back on, then my screen begun appearing a dead bot error android icon blinking every few seconds, So I tried to turn it off again and Hold power button and hold volume up button then I came back into recovery mode, even though I Hold Power Button and Press Volume up key once, I can't access the options, I've watched and read so many tutorials, even the cmendonc2's solution. I Cant access my SD Card its completely error. I've done so many command/exhibition using Power button and Volume Up key. Nothing happens Help me out please!
try clearing cache via adb on the bootloader screen, it will fix the blinking dead android problem

You need a Windows PC, I suggest getting minimal ADB from this XDA post.

Hello.
I own a Note II which lately seemed to have some problems.
In the last few months, it used to restart somewhat spontaneously (it seemed that it rebooted when its processor or RAM were too busy, but this wasn't a rule). During one night it probably rebooted and next morning I found it stuck on the first boot screen (the one with "Samsung Galaxy Note II").
When stuck on the boot screen, if I press the power button for a few seconds, it turns off. If closed, it gets to the boot screen and gets stuck there when I press the power button. When plugged to power, it gets stuck at the screen with the empty battery that has a loading icon in the middle.
I manage however to get it into recovery mode, however, in this situation, it can't be seen by the PC, unless I put it in adb sideload mode. When stuck on the logo screen, it is seen as mtp device.
In the recovery mode screen, there are many errors (can't/failed to mount /efs, /system, /cache, /cache/recovery/last_recovery, /data, /data/log/recoverylog.txt, /cache, /cache/recovery/log, last_log, last_install.
In Windows, the PC doesn't recognize the model, however, in a virtual machine that runs Linux, it is correctly seen as Note II when in adb sideload mode, but Linux is not able to mount its storage.
I have also deleted cache, tried Samsung Kies and Note II Toolkit.
What I would like to do is recover the data on it. Do you think it is possible, and if yes, how?
Thank you.
Sounds like a failed memory chip to me.
any answer now?
i want get ROM-not2-7100

No, I don't have access. What I want is to recover the files on it, if possible.
This may be a problem with the power button. if you can go into download by pressing only the menu button + volume down is because the power button is always pressed.

Sorry i think your partitions broked. I think you cant recover your data. There is has only one solution. Odin and Format....
My device too has pc cant detect my phone. I tried different cable without samsung usb drivers. Pc succesfully detected the my device.
By the way i installed lg usb driver because of someone's phone is lg and they need format.
I think there's no way to recover your data now.
BTW what recovery are you using?
