Maybe this is old news, but I just saw ACS website officially mention SRF 1.3 in the works.
Anyone have any more info on when we can expect it to be released?

Fair enough. How about any other details? I'm assuming it will still be EC05?

From what I read its a pure aosp rom not sure what its going to be based off of.

Yeah still EC05.... they don't mess with leaks very often.... but 1.3 will have a kernel included with the rom.... other than that I haven't heard much about it..... I can't wait to see what MysteryEmotionz has cooked up for us...

Eeek ^_^ I can't wait!!!!
Wait...isn't the pure AOSP ROM being developed for the Epic a seperate project itself? :\ from what I recall, 1.3 will be an update/more tweaked SFR 1.2+Thoma's Vision kernel 1.3
Try not to hold me to that fellas as I'm trying to go off of what I "think" I remember so I could be wrong
Nevertheless, I am also curious as to what ACS and Mystery bring us next

As far as I know both are correct. Didn't Marcusant say that he loves the AOSP file system that Mystery was moving to? Maybe they're integrating it in pieces.
Hope its out before official gb comes.

^ that's the answer. Thomasskull wants to release a kernel that will be as issue free as possible. He is testing the s#%t out of it to ensure stability and great user experience across multiple ROMs.

My question really is that it seems that Vision is the official kernel for SRF. If this is true, why would they not have included the current version with SRF 1.2? Also, besides OC's, what are the bottom line differences between Vision,Twilight and Genocide?

Do I have to repeat myself? It wasn't complete, but Mystery wanted to release what he had. It's going to be released with 1.3. There was a chance that they might have been ready at the same time so he has a kernel update folder, but it's empty. Twilight 1.1.1 is availible already and has been.

I think you misinterpreted his question here, he wasn't restating his question about the version thomas is/was working on (1.3?).
I read it as: "Why wasn't the existing/current version of the Vision kernel (v1.1?) included with the SRF 1.2 release, rather than having no kernel at all?"
There would probably be about 30 less pages in the SRF 1.2 thread if there was an included kernel, even if they just repackaged Twilight 1.1.1. No biggie though, those that inquired within the thread were set straight.
just curious because im jumping to Sprint with the ET4G next week and i've always been using AOSP roms and CM specially.so what gives, how come no CM7 for ET4G?

i wish but seriously how come there are no AOSP roms for the ET4G?
ICS sourced dropped like a week ago, the device has been out for a couple months
The biggest problem is that there is no aosp kernel right now that works. So once we have that there is a better chance at getting aosp roms.

Well there's supposedly a build of CM7 Kang that works quite well on the SGSIIE4GT with some mod work. It was also sent to one of our main devs, Viper boy, and I'm pretty sure he and his team are ripping that thing apart line by line to make it work the best it can. They like to release finished products and they literally just got it yesterday... so.. idk hopefully soon!!!

Just curious, will it help once the Nexus-S 4G gets the official ICS Android 4.0 update from Google + Sprint, can any of that code be used to help make a ICS ROM for our E4T ?
Don't both phones share the same CDMA radios, and some similar Samsung hardware ?

Hold up: Who exactly did you "clarify" that with? I'm only curious because I was the one who sent that kanged Rom to Viperboy, and it was MOST DEFINITELY NOT an ICS Rom when I sent him the link to my Dropbox. When, exactly, did it morph from a tired CM7 build into an ICS ROM?
Am I now known as an "underground smuggler" of ICS ROMs??

So 4.0.4 has been released, is there a posibility of that being brought over to the E4GT since we have AOSP 4.0.3 already?

Pretty sure CyanogenMod already merged 4.0.4. All it takes is someone to compile it. =P
It's not about "bringing over" a new AOSP rom called "4.0.4" it's simply about merging the changes to whatever source for whatever ROM you speak of and compiling. Every single AOSP ROM will merge 4.0.4 changes.

Ok there is a diference between AOSP Source Code (Straight from Google) And Linux Kernel Source for a specific device (From Samsung) Samsung has not released kernel source for ICS yet.
And no just because google release jelly bean source does not mean we get automatic stability. The Aosp ROM Source has to be compiled and merged with ET4G Libs, Etc, and Kernel. Without kernel source getting jelly bean 100% Stable will be a challenge. But Not impossible.

Aosp source is not source for our phone, it will not contain the drivers, etc necessary to run on our device... look at ics, aosp source has been available for ages but we need source from Samsung for our specific device to have super stable fully functional ics roms
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Once we get ICS kernel source. Then the JB source drop will mean a little bit more. Mainly because maybe, just maybe the talented devs can patch up a source built ICS kernel enough to run JB on this phone without a **** ton of issues. If this happens then we can expect to see CM10 and the new AOKP once they drop and maybe some other goodies. What everyone needs to be hoping for though is ICS Kernel source and that the devs can patch that ***** enough to run JB. And please if any of the AOSP Devs see this as disinformation please correct me. I don't want to me giving out false info.
But even with all that said. It is still pretty exciting to see JB source drop. Hell I get happy anytime Google announces or releases a new build.

We have had the source to ICS since last year The source to an operating system does not allow it to run on anything other than its development device without further drivers and in the case of Android plenty of tweaking to kernel and other code. The AOSP source is just a base for manufacturers/developers to work with or if you have a Nexus device its often an easy base for rom development.
Either way it goes, looks like Netflix is already updated for JB. I wonder if that means all the other good Apps will optimize for non-flash support. I don't really care if we get it or not, since I am banking on changing phones early next year. If I don't get it, ok... but if we do, I would really be grateful.
Already on Chrome I have noticed a few news web sites that don't display correctly due to no Flash support. I hope in time Flash dies.
OP, it's AOSP not ASOP.
AOSP = Android Open Source Project
ASOP = Android Source Open Project???
But yes, good news indeed.

The reason there are no custom 4.0.4 is source has not been released. Until it is, everything will be stock based.

I posted a question about the kernel being built from source and the camera failing, I have yet to receive a response in both Rootz and XDA. Also when contacting Samsung they said they could not help. I know it is something that I am missing and the source is not the newest version, but I do not know what to look for. I have been looking at the Galaxy Tab and Skyrocket custom kernel sources.
