Been thinking for awhile... - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

And I've decided to finally root my Evo. Been reading around the tuts, and there's a lot of them, some are old, and I don't wanna use the wrong one -_-, and I'm kinda confused on which one to use.
Not asking for help, but more of a nudge in the right direction, per say...

HBoot: 2.10.0001

Anything else ya need to know, just let me know.

Go to unrevoked.com, download the program and hboot drivers from the site. Install then unistall htc sync on your pc, enable usb debugging on your phone, connect to pc in charge only, then run unrevoked
This epic reply brought to you by none other than my roxx'd out Evo.

lol nice. seems pretty easy, just dont wanna f it up. but it seems like unrevoked is for 2.1?

No unrevovked is for all versions and will work without any problems...just select your phone and download unrevoked3 the runvthe program, plug your phone into the computer and let the magic happen

Unrevoked. For sure

Appreciate it, I'll have to give it a try. Hopefully I dont mess up. xD

unrevoked is pretty fool proof. I was too scared to root my evo (had it 6 months, thought about it every day) Rooted it and that night started flashing custom roms. I flashed three or 4 before landing on Warm Z twopointtwo with netarchy kernel.

Aight I'll have to give it a try.

It is easy. I'm a noob to rooting and was a breeze. Now just need to get brave on kernels.

hmm, i ran unrevoked, and it says
"Communications with phone unexpectedly interrupted. Try again."

make sure USB debugging is enabled, make sure htc sync is NOT on your computer, make sure u have the drivers downloaded and installed from unrevoked, and make sure ur phone is connected to charge only, also, anti virus/firewalls may mess it up, and make sure ur screen timeout is set to like 30 min so the screen doesnt shut when its rooting ur phone

Aw, it's the screen timeout, didnt think of that.
It safe to rerun? Cause it went through and pushed it and rebooted the phone..

Oh, nvm. Just changed the screen timeout to never, and re-ran unrevoked, and it worked. Cool cool.

Ok, I have one last question, if/when I decide to put a rom/kernal on, i just put it on the root of the sd card, and flash it via the clockwork orange recovery menu correct?

You will want to usually wipe all your data, cache, dalvik-cache before you shoot a new rom, some roms include wipe features with them such as Virus' new Sense 3.0 B1, however you can grab Caulkins Format all which works well too. Then just apply the zip package via recovery.

Don't wipe data when flashing anything other than a rom. When flashing kernels, themes, mods, etc just wipe cache and dalvik.
(from... Evo/MIUI/Tapatalk)

yeah when flashing a ROM, make sure you go into the wipe menu, and wipe AT LEAST data/factory reset/cache/and dalvik cache, if using clockwork it might be a good idea to wipe twice, then yes, as long as the rom is on the root of your sd card you can click install zip from sd and choose the rom and it will flash for you, If you don't wipe you will run into many problems, boot loops, force closes, bunch of bunch of things.and +1 to what plainjane said, only wipe data for flashing a rom , and only cache and dalvik cache for doing themes, kernals, anything besides a rom. If you wipe data to flash a theme, u will erase ur rom and have nothing to flash to. But i think you get the idea! glad to see you finally rooted your phone! welcome to the addiction!

haha yup!
if i flash a rom, do i have to flash a kernal to, or no?
thats the most im confused about.
So far the only thing I've done is use unrevoked, and made a backup, backed up my 4g key. so if I were to use CM7 7.0.2.1, I would put it on the root of the sd card, wipe the data and stuff, then put the frost theme from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=852021&highlight=cm7+rom and flash it?

You don't need to flash a kernel with a new Rom. But it's always an option for better performance, battery life, ect...

rooted....now lost! Please help

I did the root and I have the WiMAX setting and Wifi Tethering is working somewhat but I cant figure out how to flash my rom..I dl'd DamageControl 3.2 but i dont know what to really do now...When i try use ROM Manager I get the error..."an error occurred while attempting to run priviledge commands!" I'm just lost as to what i do now to start using a different rom
Bump.....ANYONE?!
So the following questions would need to be answered:
1) What version of stock were you running before you rooted? (i.e. 1.47, 1.32)
2) What root method did you use?
3) What recovery do you have?
4) If you have wireless tether working than you would need to have installed a custom kernel, which one did you install?
I'm sorry that no one else has tried to assist you in this, however, next time please post this in Q&A as this is for development purposes.

Okay during the process of rooting my device, ebo 4g, v1.3x
I ran into the same problem, you have to or I'm sure on this forum just do some research,.....
In RA, dalvik wipe, cache wipe and phone wipe. Then I flashed the rom via sd card, using clockwork custom recovery. If you used Simple root 3 click process you should have clock work.Via step 2.
Rename the Rom to update.zip and place in root sdcard.
Adb reboot recovery
Update.zip from SD card
Finnish do full system wipe and dalvik cache.
Make sure you are nand protected before flashing.
Via step 3
I don't know if this mighhelp just some recent stuff I ran into. Rooted my g1 a WHILE back. Hope these noobietips help lol

adb reboot recovery just reboots your phone into recovery mode. once your in that do all the wipes i think its 3 dlvk, data and something else. power off the phone once more then boot to recovery again. now one of the options is flash from zip go there and you should find whatever rom your trying to flash. also you should be putting your zipped rom files in the root directory of your sdcard. on a side not if your on a mac dont download them with safari use firefox or something else

nova,
I had the same boot loop issue. My thread for it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728955
The issue was that I wasn't totally 100% rooted. By carefully following these directions, I was able to resolve my issue:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=721055
I hope this helps also, I did it using the "PC" method. If you have questions regarding those instructions I'd be happy to share my personal experience.

Errr... maybe? Superuser permission, etc. certainly doesn't come with stock. It depends on the ROM you installed. Here's one way to find out...
Go to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Information and check the "Build Number". AFAIK it's impossible to install DamageControl without full root (I tried to myself before fixing my root and going to Fresh 1.0.1) so if that's what you have I'd say you're good.
There may be a better way but that's all I know.

Hey guys I have been reading about this for the last 3 hours or so and I just want to make sure I have everything figured out before I start this practice. Please check over what I have lined up and let me know if you have any recommendations.

Android 2.2
Baseband 2.15.00.11.19

From there I decided that Universal Auto Root was the best choice for me. Is this correct?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=838448
I am currently downloading the RUU and AutoRoot v2.0 as suggested by the instructions on the thread above. The part that is tripping me up is what to do about a ROM. From what I can tell the AutoRoot puts on the Sprint Lovers ROM. I have a fair amount of experience with ADW and LP so I'm not set on using the Sense UI. However if I do use Sense I think I would like to use this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883026 It seems to be Sense minus the bull****. I don't know how to use AutoRoot with a different ROM. If anyone could help me there that would be amazing!
Also, if anyone recommends rooting a different way or using a different ROM please let me know or if someone can link me to go instructions about flashing ROMs etc.
Thank you and I apologize for asking something that has probably already been asked. I am just trying to get the most updated responses to ensure this goes well.

Yes. Make sure that HTC sync is not installed!!! and just used unrevoke forever and have HBOOT drivers installed Prier to rooting. GOOD LUCK
How do I get the HBOOT drivers installed? So nothing to do with unrevoked3? Should I format my SD card beforehand just to be safe as well? Sorry for so many questions.

Ok well I never moved the unrevoked-forever.zip to my SD Card. Was I supposed to? Unrevoked3 flash tool or whatever ran and now my phone reads S-Off which is the goal. Now what do I do? Should I do the backups suggested here (RSA keys and nandroid)? Should I try to flash a ROM? Any suggested ROMs? How do I go about flashing a ROM? Move it to SD Card and go into recovery but then what?
Don't put unrevoke on your sd card. You have to do it on your PC. PLEASE MAKE A NANDROID!!! I CAN STRESS THAT ENOUGH!!! As far as Rom's try Myn's, is the best Rom right now.

If you have S-OFF you are rooted, now you just need to decide if you want to use a custom ROM or keep the stock one.
i'm not sure you absolutely get rooting. once you are rooted, you can SWITCH roms easily and safely. but, in order to do this, you need to install a custom recovery and a rooted rom. in the earlier days, devs would compile rooted roms from scratch, but sprint lovers is just a rooted rom with minor improvements. just root and then change roms.
Alright I rooted it successfully, flashed a ROM successfully, and then tried it out. Now I would like to try another one. I put the new ROM on the SDCard and now I am wondering what I have to wipe in clockwork recovery. I went into recovery and I have wiped cache partition, wiped data/factory reset, and wiped dalvik cache. Now do I just go ahead and "install zip from sdcard"?
Yes, going from ROM to ROM wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik and flash as normal. Should be good.
Always make backups. I advise you to change your Recovery to Amon Ra's. This will allow you to make backups of your "RSA Keys." This is important for 4G / WiMax.
Once you've changed recoveries, should you even choose to (don't HAVE to), make a backup with that one. Backups from Clockwork will not work with Amon's recovery, from what I've heard. Maybe there is a way from last I heard, but not sure. So when that's done, you can put those clockwork backups on your computer or delete them. Only after making sure you're sitting fine.
Either way, establish backups (I have a stock rooted backup, confirmed working CURRENT ROM as well as taking one before doing something drastic. JIC ) and then start flashing. Try to enjoy yourself.
edit: toss those backups somewhere safe IE computer / ext hdd etc

Hey guy also a bit of a noob here when it comes to the Evo, I rooted my incredible and it worked fine but I am worried a bit more about this phone cause its a work phone. First I was wondering does 4g work with any of the custom roms? I see that Cryogen just came out with an asop rom that seems to work with 4g but I am wondering do the sense based roms work with 4g? Also I see something about wimax keys what are they and what happens if I lose them.

4g works with all ota-based roms (minus the serious exeptions of course). rsa keys are the acutal keys that say "this phone is authorized to use the sprint 4g network". they are matched with hardware, so if you lose them, you cant ever get them back. even sprint cant. the easiest way to prevent this is to not use clockworkmod (i think its safe now) and to back up your keys. niether of these are very hard.
Ok thanks so I just use unrevoked to root the phone and then do a first time nandroid backup and I should be good to go? Then I can do S-off if I want?
Also how hard right now is it to put the phone back to stock if something strange should happen? Want to make sure I get to use my 7 buck a month insurance if I have something go wrong with the phone.

Q: what should I do?

Hi, so I'm super green but itching to load custom kernel and rom... So my Evo is rooted and have seen some pretty sweet roms, lol, kinda scared to flash and not sure what roms go with what kernals, do I even need a new kernal? What I really want is a kernal I can overclock to 1198mhz, and a rom build based on honeycomb and or gingerbread that is 100% stable or as close as I can get... Help? Lol...

hahah exited aren't you... welcome to the root world!
you asked for hc/gb. google hasnt released hc source code yet, probably not until ice cream, so there is none of that. you can however download cyanogen(mod) 7, which is almost totally stable.
http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=supersonic
there's the mirror link. download either rls4 or nightly 33. nightly 33 is a bit funky bcuz cyanogen is pulling an april fools prank saying he sold cm to teh duck revolution, and the rom is now called 'teh duck uber distro'. so maybe rls4 or just wait for the next nightly.
everything works. 4g (with one bug that there is an annoying fix for), hdmi (download hdmwin from the market) gps (with a fix) and everything else is perfect. it is still in beta/nightly stages, but should be done soon. it is my daily driver, as well as many other peoples. this rom is crazzzy popular. try it for sure.
start with stock kernel, but i'd try both savaged-zen and tiamat kernels on it. they will both give you much better battery. tiamat tends to give slightly better performance/quickness but savaged-zen (on custom SAVAGEZEN governer) gives fantastic battery. try them both!!!
again, welcome to the community. hope this helps.
Where do I get the kernals? And what process do I use? I have clockwork premium... I just don't wanna miss a step a jack myself
Also, is it gonna wipe my phone, do I need to wipe it? No issues with that though as I do it all the time... And thank you so much for the feedback BTW, still a little confused...

ok, first of all, clockworkmod isn't the recovery you want to be using. download amon-ra's recovery here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705026 make sure you get the pc36img.zip. put the pc36img.zip on the root of your sdcard (that means not in any folders) MAKING SURE IT IS NAMED EXACTLY PC36IMG.ZIP. aka just dont rename it. then power off your phone, and once it is off, hold power and volume down. you will see a white screen with scateboarding droids at the bottom. this is your BOOTLOADER SCREEN also known as hboot, and you see it quite often. so hboot will scan your sdcard, and find the pc36img.zip. hit volume up to accept the 'update'. then once it is done, volume up again to reboot.
you can download kernels from the evo android development subforum right here at the xda.
so first flash your rom. you can either boot up into it, or just flash the kernel right away. flash the kernel just like you would a rom, but without wiping.
enjoy.
any other questions, ask away.

100% agree. Amon Ra imo is the much more stable & user friendly recovery
Alright, so, can I do all this just from my phone? Is a pc recommended? Will my stock kernal overclock? Never flashed a rom before, I'm an electronic/computer tech so I pick up shniz pretty quick but still don't wanna b---- this sucker...
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
you can do it all from your phone if you want. i perfer downloading on my pc and transferring from there in case i want to modify anything, but you can always just dload on phone. make sure the pc36img.zip isnt in download folder or anything if you do. it needs to be on the root. your stock kernel can't overclock sadly. if you have never flashed a rom before, then cm7 will be crazy different than stock rom. most custom rom's are based off the stock htc software, just modded. cm7 is aosp, which means it is stock GOOGLE software. htc spends quite a few months modifying htc sense into google software, so the speed and memory increase is very noticable. just wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache when switching roms. you might want to backup your apps and their data using titanium backup. just dont backup system data, that can cause problems. then flash the rom after wiping, flash any kernel or addons you want (dont forget to flash gapps if it is an aosp rom, bcuz if you dont u wont have the market or anything) and reboot. for any other mods you install after that on the same rom, just wipe cache and dalvik cache and then flash away. wiping data between roms is always reccomended. if you want to stick with the cm7 nightlys, then all you need to wipe is cache and dalvik. there is never much of a problem with just flashing one over the other without a data wipe.
and forgot to mention, you cant control amon-ra recovery with rom manager. but then again, rom manager is just a touch screen version of recovery. you get used to the volume/power keys pretty quickly.
ok, im freaking out now, my phone is locked in the cm little surfer droid with the arrow circling around been constantly running for about 45 mins, im fuct, really fuct without my phone!!! its my only internet too!!! PLEASE HELP!!!
Did you do a factory wipe, Clear the cache & wipe Dalvik?
Sounds like it just wasn't a good install. Do the above in recovery & reinstall your ROM
ya did you wipe? doesnt sound like it. make sure data, cache, and dalvik cache are all wiped successfully. also make sure you are using amon-ra recovery. cwm can sometimes give you problems.

[Q] stuck at white htc evo 4g screen - not flashed anything yet

hello all, noob here. searched the forums already, not quite the same problem here.
I just rooted my phone with unrevoked 3.32, had zero problems. I confirmed that i had nand unlocked in hboot (says S-OFF). I started up my phone without problems after rooting, checked and I had superuser permissions in the app drawer. i then proceeded to download busybox, rom manager, my backup for root, and titanium backup from the market, but I did NOT open any of them. I thought I would do a nandroid backup first.
I rebooted into hboot, went to recovery. this started up clockworkmod (that came with unrevoked 3.32), went to backup and restore, and hit nandroid backup. It completed, said done, then i selected "go back" and selected the first option, reboot system now.
I then tried to turn my phone on, just regular power on not into hboot, and i get stuck at the white htc evo 4g screen, it then reboots, and continues to cycle up to that point.
I have NOT flashed anything other than rooting my phone. i haven't wiped anything, done anything else than what i have there.
Hboot version is 2.10
radio version says 2.15.00.11.19
clockworkmod version is 2.6.0.1
EVO is from June 2010, not a new evo.
I can get into hboot and recovery, no problems, but i can't startup the phone.
Please help! i just want to start up the phone, don't want to flash anything yet. Thanks in advance.
Maybe its the busybox that you downloaded. You should hit up recovery and do a full wipe! The start up again. What rom are you running, most roms have busybox included so when you download it I've seen phones get the white screen of death. Grab a rom and reflash it. Since you put busybox that nandroid you made probably is no good. Reason I'm telling you all this is because has happened to me before. Good luck

hello all, noob here. searched the forums already, not quite the same problem here.

Well, I'm not sure what exactly went wrong for ya, but I might suspect it was something to do with some of the apps you downloaded prior to making your backup. The first thing to try, would be to boot to recovery, and wipe cache, and then go to 'advanced' and wipe dalvik cache. Then try to reboot. If that fails, then you're next option (without flashing a new ROM) is to do a data/factory reset. You will however lose all of your apps, settings, contacts, texts, etc. You unfortunately don't really have any other options, unless wiping cache's helps you out. If a factory reset doesn't allow you to boot, then you're most likely going to have to flash a new ROM. And also, I thought that Unrevoked flashed the latest clockwork recovery, which would be 3.0 or somehting like that, no?
Hi k2buckley,
So I tried wiping the cache and the dalvik cache then rebooted, no luck. Does this mean the nandroid backup I made is also corrupt? Restoring that won't do anything will it? So the options are to do a factory reset or flash a new rom? If I lost everything anyway, I might as well try to flash a new rom.
However, to clarify, I didn't "install" busybox. I downloaded the app but I didn't open it up and click install. So even if I flash a new rom, then I install busybox and do a nandroid backup it will work? If so, why didn't it work this time? If I do a factory reset, then do the same thing and install busybox, will the same thing happen? Is busybox incompatible with the sense froyo that comes from the sprint OTA?

You don't need to download busy box, I would delete that app. If you flash a rooted rom it should already have busybox; if you just rooted your phone and want to download busybox on your current stock rom then it will be ok. I would wipe and flash a new rom just to be safe.

Well, I'm not exactly sure why you want to download busy box so badly. Any rom comes with busy box cooked in. I have only once installed busy box. The only time i remember having to do it, was Immediately after I rooted with Unrevoked, i went to use Titanium, and had some error. I hit the problems button and that updated busy box from there. Other than that, I've never messed with it.
And yes, most likely your nandroid backup is not going to be of any value to you. You could try restoring it if you'd like, but I predict it would be a waste of time. And I'm not sure that it matters that you didn't 'open' and click install on busy box. If you downloaded it from the market, wouldn't it just download and install itself automatically? I would just flash a rom, and be done with it. Roll with whatever version of busy box comes with the ROM you flash. As you said, you're only option is a factory reset now, and if you're going to do that, you certainly may as well flash a custom rom at the same time. You just need to download a rom, and put it on your sd card. You can mount the sd card as a disk drive to your computer from within recovery. I use amon ra, and its called USB MS TOGGLE. I'm not sure what it's called in clockwork, but the option is there. So put the rom on your sd card, perform a complete wipe, (i'd flash calkulin's format all.zip as well), flash a rom, reboot, and forget about anything with busy box. It will be installed on the rom already.
If you download busybox from the market and it already has it built in the rom you might bork the rom and get a bootloop. Try it and see for yourself !

Well, the only reason I download busybox was because I wanted to use titanium backup and it is required. Other than that, I could care less about it. It does not install automatically after downloading. You have to go into the app and choose which version you want to install and I didn't install it. The thing is I didn't want to install any roms in the first place. I wanted to just root the phone for the purpose of wifi tethering. So basically my better option is doing a factory reset.
I won't be able to do this til I get home in a few hours, so if anyone else has any suggestions on how to fix this without losing my data, I would appreciate any tips. Thanks.
If you can get a logcat that should show what is causing it to bootloop. It's 'adb logcat > logcat.txt' to do it, run that and wait for it to loop 3 or 4 times before pushing Ctrl+C to stop it.
Busybox isn't included in the ROM because I didn't flash a ROM! I'm using the sense 2.2 froyo Ron that comes from sprint and HTC. I didn't flash anything as I stated in the title. I just did a nandroid backup and now my phone won't boot.

Right. But unfortunately now, your data seems to be lost. Did a factory reset help anything? If not, you got to wipe and reflash a rom.

I understand that. As I stated, I'm not sure what's causing your problem. As xhausx said, try getting a logcat

Hi xHausx,
I will have to wait til I get home to try that, but how do I get into the prompt to type that in dos. Do I need to run anything in hboot or clockworkmod before connecting my Phone and trying that? I am a noob, so even though I've read a lot before rooting, I don't know much. Please assume I need a step by step. Thanks again.

You can use the root tools zip from the link in my sig to get to adb, there is a script in there called OpenShell that will bring up a dos prompt in the right folder. Rooting should have enabled adb during boot so you should be ok on that end.

OK, so I downloaded and extracted the auto-root tools only zip from your sig, and then ran OpenShell.bat and typed as you said "adb logcat > logcat.txt" with my phone plugged in. said "waiting for device" and then i turned on my phone and let it boot 4-5 times before ctrl+c and pulling the usb. all the logcat.txt says is...
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
am i doing something wrong?
my apologies, i've only throughly read on how to root, i hadn't gotten into flashing or anything else yet. just been on xda site for a few days now reading all i could about rooting (which went fine, but now i'm screwed).

man, for the life of me, i can't believe i didn't do a nandroid before i downloaded the app. for some reason i thought only downloading an app from the market, not flashing anything or whatever, would not screw up my phone.
anyway, since my data is lost, i wanted to try again. can i flash the unrevoked S-ON utility and then the latest Sprint RUU and then re-root? i read somewhere else that it won't remove my wimax/RSA keys or SD card, is that correct? is there a way to backup my RSA keys before I do anything else? should i do that, re-root, then nandroid, then mess with stuff? i basically wanted a stock Sprint EVO but one that's rooted so i can run root-based apps, that's what I want to get to.
Flash the Amon Ra recovery via the AR pc36img.zip file in hboot method, then reboot to recovery, do a full wipe/factory reset and try to boot to system.

[Q] Noob just need a little help.

i have an htc evo 4g phone that has the android 2.3.5 running and i have it rooted and it is running a recovery mode of Amon ra. i have been trying the past like 4 hours to put a Rom on my phone. i download the rom of my pc and than plug my phone to the pc and after the download is finished i drag the download over and it loads on the sd card. than i turn the phone off and go to recovery then i clear everything using superwipe program and than i would flash the rom. the rom would download and say it has downloaded to the sd card. Then i reboot the phone and it just comes to the HTC EVO 4G white screen and doesnt do anything after that. i waited for like 25 min. and nothing it just stays at that screen. ANY ideas on fixing this or what to do. I really appreciate it.

What rom? Are you flashing any additional mods or kernels? Have you tried manually wiping everything except sdcard 3 times?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA
yeah .manually wipe everything like he said a few times. Then make sure your kernel is compatible with he from u are flashing u may need to dowlnload a kernel and flash it right after u flash your new from. I'm curious to what from u are flashing from and the kernel. And what from are u trying to install now

Rom manager is better IMO. Just use Rom manager, it never gave me any problems. Power off. Press volume down+power at same time, wait for HTC logo. It should take you to the white screen that shows you soff or son . Click recovery, wipe boot-data-cache-system. Click on advanced, clear dalvik and battery stats, reboot recovery and install your Rom. That's exactly what I do and it works everytime. I'm a noob myself don't go brick your phone.
My hboot is 2.18
supersonic evt3 ship s- on
i have tried rom manager and it didnt load any either. i have tried putting team nocturnal and miui roms and stuff for my htc evo 4g. but i dont know if my version accepts it. It wont load any of them.

ROM Manager is NOT better, it's way worse than doing it through recovery. Many people have problems and have even bricked devices due to Rom Manager. Just don't use it.
i just tried putting a prime xl rom for my phone and cleared eveything 3 times and stuff and it stills just goes to the white HTC EVo 4g screen. just no loading of the roms. thanks for all your answer and help guys. still am confused.
Yeah do it from recovery. Not rom manager. Never heard of that rom. Gonna try it on my phone tonight and check it out. Again did u see if the kernels u are using are compatible. That was my problem a few times when flashing sure is the link for the rom u are trying to install.

If you restore from your nandroid backup, does it boot up?
Like others have stated, your checklist prior to flashing anything should be 1. Make sure you have more than 30-40 % battery charge, Download Rom, Kernel, and if your ROM is AOSP, gapps, place on SD, reboot into recovery, I have always used AmonRa 2.3, Nandroid first...... wipe ALL (x3), flash ROM, flash gapps if AOSP, flash kernel compatible w your build (2.3.), Reboot.....be patient while first boot takes a little longer than normal. Hope this helps

My s is on and it says on the top unlocked. I don't know exactly what that means.
