HELP!
I originally had an xda 2i. & bought Tom Tom nav 5 software for it. GREAT! However, now I've indulged in the Orbit, which takes a MICRO sized memory card.
How can I switch my program on to a smaller card.
Please say it is possible.
Thanks....

Well you can certainly move your files to new card using a PC card reader or even using active sync explore function. However programme installation files will need to be run again so registry entries are correct. That's why I keep copies of all cab files on my storage card.

Hello everyone,
This is my first thread and I need some advice as I'm shi**ing it about updating my PDA2K WM03SE Model: PH20B to WM6.
I want to try this upgrade as I spent £600 plus on this thing & I've had to soft reset some 400 times over the past 4 years. I've now stripped everything out, hard reset & installed about 4 programmes & now find my new SD 4 gig card can't be recognised, time to do something before I throw this thing at the wall.
My questions are:
1. Will the unit be more stable
2. Will my programmes Pocket Player & TomTom Navigator still register & work
3. Will the PPC recognise 4Gig cards
4. Is the upgrade as easy as it looks
5. Is WM6 far superior to WM03SE
Thanks & I look forward to replies, I hope.

Should be. Just keep in mind that 2003 was designed to run on the phone, WM6 wasn't. WM6 on the angel is a collection of patches and files from other phones.

These particular apps, I don't know.

Only if the card is not an SDHC card. I have a 4 gig topram SD card that worked fine in my old angel. The only catch was that accessing data on the card was slower than a smaller card due to the larger amount of memory and CPU needed to deal with the larger space addressing.

I found it to be very easy, just make sure you follow every step in the wiki exactly.

I think so. It feels much faster than WM5. I can't compare to 2003 as I upgraded mine to WM5 as soon as I received my angel and never tried 2003.
Thanks, what a reply.
Thanks for that, what a great reply.
Just what I needed & I thought ubuntu forum was the only helpful one out there.
Thanks a lot !!!!!

I don't think there's such a thing as a class 10. It's 2, 4 or 6.
So your card might be a class 2 which is the slowest.
lool no no it's a class 10 for sure !
I've seen other users on these forums what have had trouble with Kingston MicroSD cards. They seem to have some issues working on the Rhodium.

oh....shxxxxxxxt ... :s so bad news :'(
I have an Adata 16gb class 6 and I have about 15.5gb of data on it with most of that being music. It takes about 5 seconds to start my music so you have a problem. I recommend you returning your card for a new one.
i had a kingston 16GB. i orderd it online, the price should have been a hint that it was afake. after purchasing i investigated fake before it arrived so i would know what to look for. it arrived looking legit , it even had the kingston paperwork and packaging, but it was a fake.
when i put in my pc and foramted it came back a 1GB stick. ya might try to format and see what happens.
oops just re read your post, omit my blabbing
Kingston microSDHC Class 10 16gb

I REPLY:
My card: Bought March 2010 at Newegg #20-139-120 "FLASH 16G|KST MICSDHC SDC10/16GB" (card + adapter)
I ran the Kingston Validation tool, since there are knockoffs out there, and got the Kingston "web_report" - verifying the serial and the license code.
Has run flawlessly and FAST on EnergyROM 23xxx (currently running Energy.RHODIUM.23673.Sense2.5.Cookie.Jul.24)
Total commander runs fast, no freezes. Currently loaded with only 771 items and 248mb, though, so it might not be a fair test.
I placed it in the SD adapter and plugged it into PC, and ran Disk Checker v3.3 (30 day trial from rssoftlab.com) and this is what it says: Kingston FAT32 512 bytes/sector 64 sectors/cluster (16gb, no partitions)
Saw a thread with a interesting HP utility at item #8 for someone who had a SD Card problem. Thread: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=667513
-- points to files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197
Anyway, I hope someone has an answer for you. I don't know if anything I have written is helpful or not...
Hi,
T-Mobile offered my a Defy as part of my contract renewal and I've got a couple of questions:
1. Does the Defy store apps to the SD card by default? I've searched some posts and there is repeated mention of 2Gb of internal storage but the specs say 512Mb RAM. Is the 2Gb storage in addition to the SD card (I'll be using a 16Gb SD card from my HD2)
2. Is it possible to just turn Blur off? I've seen threads about removing it but I'm wondering if it's like HTC Sense where you just change the default Home screen?
Thanks for your time.
Hi,
first of all, I'm german so plz apologize my bad english...
1. Defy has 512MB RAM plus an internal storage of 2GB, about 1,2GB can be used for installing apps. Inserting an SD card (mine hat an 2GB card enclosed) will add to the mentioned storage and can be used für images, videos, music etc.
Your Defy should by standard have Andoid 2.1 running, therefor apps won't be installed to SD. This feature imho is avaiable since Android 2.2
2. Motoblur isn't just a launcher. It is a service provided by Motorola and can be used for facebook contact sync etc...
Does anyone know what would be the least-featured (read: least expensive!) Nokia phone with the Symbian operating system that is capable of formatting a microSD card that's been used in a WP7 device? In other words, what model Nokia phone with the Symbian operating system should I look for (used) if I want ONLY to use it to format memory cards used in WP7 devices & want to spend as little money as possible?
The Nokia 7650 (S60) was the first, according to what I've read, Nokia phone released with the Symbian operating system; it was released in 2002 and had V6.1 of Symbian. Does anyone know if that early version of Symbian would format a WP7 card, or do I need a later version?
THanks,
Dennis
What do you just want to use it in something else...
Why not just use mini partition wizard on the PC. Is free so can't really go wrong.
http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html
I've used it a ton of times on my hd2 works perfect... There's another program too... I believe it the Panasonic sd formatter.. I think it's a program that comes with a digital camera or something.
No need to buy a Nokia though just to format a card.

Unless you've put Windows Phone 7 on your HD2, which I understand can be done, it's NOT the same as formatting a microSD card from a Windows Phone 7 device. Once removed from a Windows Phone 7 handset, the microSD card DOES NOT EVEN SHOW UP IN A PC WHEN YOU TRY AND READ IT THAT WAY. The ONLY way I know of FOR SURE to make it useable again is to format it in a Nokia phone that uses the Symbian operating system.

Yah I know... Only thing that shows is 200mb.
Its the wp7 partition that doesn't show up..
Yah had windows phone 7 on my hd2 since the original dft rom... That's actually why I ended up buying the hd7.
That program will work. I've actually since then used it for several other random stuff too. Like shrinking the drive on my laptop to dual boot 7 & 8.
When you open the program make sure you select te sd card. Then delete both partitions, it will turn into one unformatted partition, then format the whole thing to whatever format you want, then click the click check mark check to apply changes, let it do its thing, all set.

Had the same problem only seeing 200 mb of 2GB. Partition wizard worked perfectly for me.Thanks for the tip @reeg420
The above is not for native windows phones
as far as nokia you can get nokia music phone and it should be super cheap to get what you need to get done
It takes less than 3 minutes I did it for a member on xda and it was no problem
edit I used my n8 and it is symbian belle. It doesn't matter which os though
