Gameloft games - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello I have quite a few gameloft games and I was wondering since I rom a lot has anyone gotten them to work on any gingerbread build? I recently flashed EE03 (no gps or fm work)
and all my games say they aren't valid copys. This was also the case with cm7 alpha 1. I hope its not because I upgraded to 2.3 and I have a feeling it might be the market spoof for netflix but I am stuck. Froyo just smells expired since ee03 dropped.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App

I just got Starfront, which i think is a gameloft game (i think??) and it works great.. on the EE03 rom... so i dont think updating to it was the problem, unless something went wrong with the flashing process?

Idk I have 6 gameloft games and all of them say they aren't valid. All my paid android market games work fine but I miss my first person shooters. If this was an oficial build I would email them to fix it but I'm still undecided to kep ee03 and this might be the deal breaker

[Q] For those of you who play emulators.

am I going crazy, or are all the rom apps from the market missing? Like Rom buddy, or rom gripper. Im assuming the violated something? I even paid for Rome buddy and I can't even use it anymore.

Most likely. Its basically like torrents. Some sites are being attacked even tho they don't offer the files, yet they offer the means.

Rom Buddy still shows up in my market...
Sent from my SilverBullet "HTCDesireZ running CM7"
There are plenty of these sites on the internet, although I will not suggest them Google helps =] I assume you know what to do once you have the files.
yeah but i mean they have been up there for so long idk why they are taken down now. i dont want to get them off a site on the internet, thats the beauty of the application. that rom buddy on the market now is like the remake of the old one, and i dont want to pay for it. AGAIN.
Sometimes it takes a while before things catch on...than the right people take notice and bam. Trouble in paradise.
Google is your friend...but the app does make things a hell of a lot easier. Worth the price imho.

rom buddy lol... ive had all the roms on my computer for the past 15 years...
i just drag and dropped them to my sd card...
use torrents
I noticed Emulator Roms Plus disappeared, which was upsetting... I kept the apk though so I can still use it.
It's because of the xperia play's release.

try droid emu rom get.
i know google pulled psx4droid but there is still fpse. about the roms, i would just go to a website like emuparadise or doperoms.com
I really hope they don't pull all the emulators too!! If they did that wouldn't be sony's fault..
It would be annoying if they pulled the nintendo emulators but not that big of a deal because they r very very stable already

Yeah this sux I hate using my computer for anything I can usually do on my evo but the websites still work just drag and drop. Its more work but at least we can still get roms.

The only one I use that works good is FPSE and you have to hunt down sites that have the game ROMs to load. If you google it there are tons of sites and videos to help you out.
If you want to try PSXdroid here is a help page but I found it hard to get going. But this list sites with ROMs:
http://psx4droid.webs.com/psx4droidsetuphelp.htm
I haven't tried all the emulators, but I have gotten reliable use out of GBCoid and SNESoid. The makers have a N64 emulator, namely N64oid, but I can't enjoy the controls with 3D games as much as I want, plus alot of bugs with games spread out. These emulators can be found in SlideMe, just search for the emulators. Old emulators are free, but the N64 emulator will cost you.
As for a place to find ROMs, there are alot, but I personally use coolrom.com.

Kenny I love you so much right now. Despite I'm sure FPSE being common knowledge I've only now experienced how fantastic it is. PSX4droid be damned.
I was looking into all that and I'm having trouble trying to use a game once I downloaded it. I don't know I think I'm doing something wrong. For instance I downloaded the free playstation emulator I think it was psxdroid player lite and I downloaded the bios file needed and then I downloaded mortal combat game but it was a rar file. That's about as far as I got.

PSX: If any of you were into the Digimon scene when you were a child give Digimon Digital Card Battle a look see. Perfect for the epic and is one of the most practical card games ever devised. Why it never caught on is beyond me.

Emulators are fun
It's fun to enjoy a game every now and then on your Epic, but man it sure does kill the battery, it's more reasonable to play on a Custom Firmware PSP. If you do have one, I recommend the N64 Emulator I gave birth to on there. Yup, that's me

No, I didn't make the N64 Emulator for Android Devices, before it was out, my plan was to work on it and make money off of a licence key of it with limited functionality in the "lite" version. Though another dev beat me to it, and was more knowledgable than I, I knew what was needed, but he was one step ahead of me on resources, the port on of N64 on Android is a Mupenport, whilist mine was going to be from scratch, with scrapes of mupen for linux such as the armv7 interpreter. Anyway. No I sparked life on the N64 Emulator for the Playstation Portable, I began work, and a team of dedicated people came to me and took chunks of outdated original code and got it working better than ever. I was but a spark with minor contributions, had I never sparked it though, Nintendo64 on PSP would of never become what it is today.
And Marcusant, there's more than one route, with the easiest being a hacked battery, I originally hacked mine my sophomore year of highschool a looooong time ago with a save-exploit on the unpatched UMD of GTA for PSP. There are other save exploits, but it does get slightly tougher the newer your firmware. It's come to the point to where you can use what they call "HEN" Homebrew Enabler which runs on official firmware. You should def give Daedalusx64 a try.

It is way easier to put cfw on a psp now. There is no need for a pandora battery or game save hacks. I know sony just came out with an update for the psp firmware on Tuesday, but any build before that takes a matter of minutes to hack. I just set up my slim 3000 a few weeks ago. It gave me a reason to pick it back up after sitting around for so long. And yeah, the psp is WAY more practical to get my retro gaming fix. Wii is pretty easy to crack these days too.
Edit: check out this site for info http://pspslimhacks.com/
It works on all models, including the fat ones, but do your reading to see what method works for yours.

I used to use FPSEce on Windows Mobile on a Touch Pro and got 45-50 fps. The emulator is very well coded and it was ported over by the original developer, which helps. Once my new phone arrives in a couple days I'm going to have to give it a try. It's just too bad that I'll have to buy it again (I paid for the development releases of it on WinMo).

Huge downgrade for something that's in alpha stage to not be working perfectly?
Netflix upgraded to work with android 4.x back in december with the galaxy nexus release. Like other people who saying I think it's more to do with the actual rom than anything else. I'm sure with the next series releases these minor compatibility issues will be fixed.
Its netflix now but what else isn't working? There are programs other people use on a daily basis not seen at the moment with the current developers and testers using this beta style rom. We are not status quo. There's only a few people using calk's fb17 release at the moment...100 max I am willing to gamble.
The real question is what else isn't working? What other programs like netflix are not running correctly on this version of ice cream sandwich. Maybe there's an off chance that we can isolate the problems similar to what's going on with netflix and other programs and somehow cross check them together with other programs/APKs to find some related issue and tackle it from there.
Until then, like others, I'm gonna stay back on a regular android 3.x rom and work from here because I can't make it through my work night without netflix. It's too damn boring here at usps. 2 hours of work and 6 hours of downtime makes kevin a dull boy. here's hoping an even more stable release is put out so that we can have basic yet minor things like netflix back. Even though it may not seem that important to some other joe schmo across the internet at least a few of us actually desire something like netflix so I wouldn't judge too much.
Oh and by the way, I think this is working with my fb15 version last night so who knows maybe its just some issue isolated to the fb17 rom. I would check but I'm not at home. I really don't feel like temporarily breaking my phone for the evening. If someone wants to check to make sure you could try to flash the old fb15 release and see how netflix runs on that...or if it runs at all.

Like every other release for any OS, software patchwork needs to be done. What is truly exciting about ICS is that Google is requiring manufacturers not to mess with the base of the OS. Which means developers update once and it should be compatible with all. Its exciting mainly because some cool devs for ios have been holding back due to android manufacturers messing around. Now they should easly convert to android.

Quick question, and I'm not sure if it matters or not but how did you go about flashing calks rom? I can think of 3 or 4 different ways I can go about getting everything installed with this fb17 rom. I'm trying to figure out the difference between what you did what I did and how I can possibly get this to work for my phone. last time I installed it on a freshly flashed cwm as well as the fb15 modem. Then I even reverted back to stock el29 modem and rom, then installed calks rooted and deodexed fb17 rom keeping the el29 modem (doubt it matters much which modem I had). just wanted see if you did nothing there for different...or...something
Edit: Dang speak and spell screwed up everything...lol

OK I don't know what gives, but I couldn't find it on my phone (GB) either either. But here is the work around.
I found it in Android Market on my computer and purchased it there. It made me choose which phone I wanted it installed on, so maybe it makes you pay for each device you have and that is causing us not to find it. As soon as I went to market on my phone, it was installed before I had a chance to hit the search button.
Edit... Ok ... so I have it. Is there a tutorial? I am confused.
I am starting to get it slowly though. Maybe when I get back home and figure things out I will start a post... I am out of battery for now.
well i have v1.0 ... >.>
but they updated so its time to break out ma tools XD
I purchased this app as well, its good but its missing some features the video on youtube showed. I was running the ICS leaked roms and none of them would work/compatible according to the market. I tried the market website and still didnt work, i had to revert to GB from Caulkin to get it after all. My initial impressions are mixed due to it still being a premature relase and not having all the features. So far one update was relased already so it seems like a good thing.
I purchased it and installed it yesterday on CM9. Ended up having to wipe data, and upon going back to the Market to install it, I can't find it anywhere. Dubious indeed.
So I attempted editing the build.prop as many have done to fix issues with the Chrome Beta browser, and still no luck getting this to show up. I liked the launcher while I was using it yesterday, but I'm enjoying CM9 more, so hopefully someone (likely won't be me) can figure out a way to get this to show up.

problem with playing gameloft games

Hi,
Today I decided to try Gameloft games on my Galaxy Nexus, I downloaded two games("brothers in arms 2" an "Gangstar West Coast Hustle" ) and installed them easily and downloaded the data files with WiFi. After it finished downloading I went to the game to play, but after a while this error came up: "unfortunately, BIA2(gangstar) has stopped [ok]" and it jump out of the game! Try them for times and it occurred every time. After trying it for many times I found that when I use multi touch the error comes up!
please help, its really annoying. I don't know what to do!
I did nothing to my phone(it's not rooted or any thing), I just updated it to jelly bean.
Sorry for bad English and thanks in advance.
Gameloft are awful regarding updates, chances are the games are not optimized for Jelly bean and probably won't be for quite sometime...

You're custom ROMs and kernels change too damn much. Hate to say it but, Google and Samsung know better about what the hardware should be set at, and how to write good software (Google for the software, not Samsung) than at home, part time, I'm gonna dabble in this type developers. No offense intended, but Samsung and Google do this for a living, and have been doing it a long time, and have many very, very, very knowledgeable, schooled, and trained people.
I run a stock ROM built by someone here, but completely based off of Google's source. I can play Gameloft games all day long with no issues, as well as do anything and everything else without ever having an issue.
This phone doesn't need its CPU over clocked, or its GPU, or under volt, or any of that. You think your "pushing performance" when all you're really doing is sacrificing stability.
There's a reason Google doesn't go bleeding edge with any Nexus devices. They know their **** and know it well.
