on your htc desire hd , tap on htc hub from the menu. then click on widgets and look for quick record... then u add that widget to your homescreen and njoy

There are 2 colors, Red and Green.. there is an app that i can't remember the name but you can change the notification colors for each messages or missed calls. You must have a rooted phone though if i am not mistaken.

I was using an old ics miui build by shubhamchhabria and it allows us to change led colors.. it works

did not really understand the question, but if you mean you want an alt contacts app then try ExDialer... it comes with a customizable dialer and contacts app...

the contacts/people app is one by HTC, I need the native ICS one..

Yes it is. Could have asked on the ROM thread as well. Look into Venom Hub App > Add-ons and you'll find the add-on for download.
