"Explore Root" - maybe it's just me, but I don't know what you mean. Can you explore the files on your DI from your pc: yes.
Can you explore the files that create the rooting process: I'm not sure.

When you open a file exploring app on the device, it can only see certain files. Until you give it root access (superuser permission) then it can see a lot more files.
Id like to see those extra files, from my pc

Learn how to use ADB.
Or
Use Root Explorer, Absolute System Root Tools, or any other root file explorer.

Agreed with ADB shell.
But, seriously, where are the mods these days? So many posts in the wrong section.

Installing non market apps

I've a bunch of apps on my PC which are no longer on the market. Is it possible to install these on a rooted sgs? I currently have a g1 which is rooted and enables me to do so but am changing phone in a few days time
You shouldn't need to root it (unless they are cracked/protected apps), there is an option on the phone to allow the install of non-market apps.
From XQ55
+Market_Enabler_v3.0.8.apk
+Paid_Apps_Enabler.apk
Install it using Astro File Manager

this is by far the easiest way
wifi FTW
Easiest solution infact imho is using ES File Explorer from market.
with ES File Explorer you can just install them through wifi lan.
Once you share the folder in your pc, you can always access it through wifi and with one click install, copy etc. anything.

[Q] Internal Memory :/

i haven't found a thread about it and i'm searching for this by 2 months, i'm want some kind way to browse my internal memory by pc, if there's a way, name it please. And have another question, i already have root me play and installed Astro, IO and ES Explorer but no one haven't asked for superuser permission, cuz i want to to change the apk file from psemu native and i need this permission, if someone can help, don't hesitate, please.
adb pull is your best bet to copy internal memory to your pc to browse it.

Going into your phone via SSH should allow full access, since you have root. The app needed on your android is QuickSSHd ($1.49 btw). On your PC, download WinSCP then link them up.
Or if you want to explore the root partition from your phone, use Root Explorer ($3.99)

anyway TS, to add on your choices, try 'wifi file transfer pro' https://market.android.com/details?id=com.smarterdroid.wififiletransferpro&feature=search_result
works like a root explorer, but this is for PC, browse or upload/download to/from your android file system..

[Q] ES Explorer doesnt delete files? (best explorer for android?)

Hi all, I'm using ES File Explorer. Sometimes when I delete a file by using the Nexus itself and afterwards plug it into my computer and I browse using Windows Explorer, the file that was supposedly deleted would still show up. Does anyone know why this is?
its a ES explorer problem?
does any one know a better file explorer?
thankyou
Root Explorer is my favorite.

Probably Windows Explorer is not properly refreshing file/folder listing of your phone. Common problem with the MTP protocol.

I just tried with root explorer, on my brothers nexus... im thinking its a nexus problem,
try it out,
delete any file using your nexus, and look for it using windows explorer immediately after deleted the file on yor phone.
on ES explorer/Root explorer, you wont see the file, but it will stay there on windows explorer

I'm going to say it's a problem with Android's current implementation of MTP. Other MTP/PTP devices such as digital cameras or media players work fine with Windows, in general.
I don't know a way of getting this fixed. Read the guide I link to in my signature for workarounds/more info.

Need to change root file permissions

Hi, I need to give read and write access to a couple little files in my root directory, but I can't find a file manager app that will do this. Among the ones I have tried are Root Explorer, which was recommended, and File Manager Root from Fdroid, but neither work. Can someone recommend an app or another way to do this? Thanks!

In modern android versions the /system partition is read only. Either you create an overlay with magisk, or you boot recovery. Twrp has a file manager or you use adb shell.

Question Can't use this folder To protect your privacy, choose another folder/ A12 QPR

Hey! I can not access the folder, although I have root rights. I use x-plore .Please tell me how to fix? Magisk is rooted for this program
That's intended behavior for recent Android versions. There's nothing to fix.
Stop trying to do things in the user root directory.
Maybe explain what you're trying to do or use an actual root app or root shell in adb to accomplish it.

Is that your base sdcard you can't access?? I use x-plore and don't have any problems creating or using folders in my sdcard. In configuration, make sure you configure your x-plore app

In normal Android 12 possible to get access. I know what I do. I need to access the folder to unlock fps in GRID AUTOSPORT
Create a subfolder and point at it. You probably don't need the root folder.

Thanks! I just didn't go there))
I use Mix explorer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mixplorer.silver
And I am able to access the data folders and obb folders with it. It's a neat file manager, replaced solid explorer for me, I ran into that same issue with solid explorer not letting me connect to the android data folder even with root, but even unrooted I am able to access these folders with MiX

If I didn't need access to the root user directory I would have just bought an iPhone. Android is ruining itself
Is there a way now, to grant applications, like Total Commander, access to SD card? Preferably without root. To SD card, common. Well.
