I have seen a couple of times apps going away from MP.
Is there any way to get them?
In particular, I am looking for A-to-B navigation and Shazam apps.
Thanks.
Not sure if this is what you're after. Shazam is only temporarily gone from the Marketplace - last I checked they were working on some fix with MSoft.
If you ALREADY had Shazam installed, and thought it had disappeared after the recent update, look in the Games Hub, it got moved there - can't imagine why though.
I don't know about A-to-B. It certainly seems to be gone, but it didn't get revoked - I still have it installed. If there is a quick way to snag an XAP from that, I will do it if there is demand for that....

This is a seriously, SERIOUSLY annoying problem I've discovered.
Sometimes when I open the "Downloads" section in Market my apps aren't there. Well, a few are but most aren't. And there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason behind which ones still show up vs the ones that are missing.
I don't switch ROMs - I run Fresh (currently the latest version).
The only way I can get them to reappear is to manually search for an app I already have installed and update it if an update is available. Then POOF all of my downloads are there.
Any idea what in the HECK could be going on here? This sucks because I can't see when an update is available unless I search for the app. It's driving me nuts
Try clearing the market data.

Thanks, that did it....still wonder what the heck the cause is though.
It may have something to do with running a custom rom, bit imo the Android market still has some bugs to work out.
Sent from my SUPERSONIC
It happens to me all the time. Cyanogen and I believe Ava-Froyo roms seem to download all of my 350+ apps that I have ever downloaded. Some roms only seem to "remember" or only allow me to download certain apps from the Market. I am thinking that if I don't have the option selected to download unauthorized apps from the Market, that could be one reason why. But, I have been wondering the same thing as the OP. Only a couple of the many, many roms I have used/tried will actually have "saved" all of the apps I have ever downloaded. It is a pain when it is a paid app that doesn't show up. I have to remember which ones I bought so I can re-download!
My issue wasn't the market data, but for some reason some roms when Apps are moved to the SD card it screws up what shows.
Try moving any apps on your SD card to your phone memory instead, then kill the market task and restart it
they should all show then
Same problem but with a twist
Not only do my apps keep disappearing from the market, but some apps won't aunthenticate with Googles license server, so I cannot use them! ARGH!

No offense, but thats what happens when we hammer on people to search before posting... (s)he did and zombied the post.
I've been having trouble with Android Market today. I can communicate with the market just fine, but nothing downloads. It either doesn't start or gets stuck a "Starting Download." Is anyone else seeing this?
I'm not having any problems installing from Amazon's App store. I even installed the Plant's Vs. Zombies freebie this morning, even though it didn't work (didn't expect it too).

Did you try clearing the Market's cache? It can be finnicky - not sure if it's our version of the Market, our build, or what's up...

I had not, but I found Quick Cahce Clean on Amazon's Market and used that. I'm still getting, Download starting -- Downloading -- Download Unsuccessful.

Uhm... I have no clue what that is. Perhaps try clearing out the app data the 'usual' way?

I don't really know what the 'usual' way to clear the market cache is. It's not in the list of apps you can clear under Manage Applications. I'm a newbie at this, so what I don't know about Android is a lot bigger than what I do.
How do you clear the cache for the market? I couldn't see any way to do it except using an app like Cache Clean.

Just like you'd clear any other application's cache/data - in Manage Applications under Settings -> Applications...
Notice the tabs at the top. If you only stay in the 'Downloaded' tab, you'll obviously never see the Market as that wasn't downloaded...

Well, yeah "obvious" when you know what you're doing. Sorry if I seem like a dim bulb. I really am trying to learn. Unfortunately clearing the cache that way didn't help either.

Hrm. I hate to use this as a troubleshooting step, but have you tried a new data.img?
You can try renaming the old one if you want to be able to revert to it...
There's a fix_permissions script that is supposed to circumvent the need for a new data.img, not sure if it'll help you in this case or not.
I went back to an earlier copy of data.img and the market worked. So, after spending hours goggling and trying every crazy, random thing people claimed worked, I ended up redoing my phone. I copied everything off the SD card, formatted it, and installed a fresh copy of FRX06. The market works again.
I got wireless working, installed some essential files, and backed up everything to my desktop. I'll back it up every couple of days for a while so if the market goes South again, I'll have a quick fallback.
Thanks for all your help.
glad you have it working
Just a question, did u try and use Update All button in marketplace? Usually that always bugs out the downloader and causes them to get "stuck". Just Cancel all downloads and do manually one by one imo

I might have. But I did just what you said. I cancelled all of them and retried them one at a time, and did it over and over again many times after trying different "this works" ideas.
I had this same issue and am still having it.
I'll give this a try as well... started a few days ago when my zeam FC looped on me and I had to reinstall Froyo since I had no way of reverting to another launcher.
Thanks!
The only thing that worked for me was completely reloading the FRX06 build from scratch.
I've seen various people reporting this issue lately.

I have tried an alternative market, SAM 4.1 - SlideME Application Manager http://slideme.org and this is working perfectly. The only thing is that this market has less applications en is missing specific applications which I want to use.
Is there anybody who has got any sugestions?
Please see my signature for the build, kernel, gapps, etc. which I am using.

I'm also having this problem. I guess I'll have to delete the data.img, though, I think I'll wait until frx07 is out.

can you provide info on how to do this please?
most likely he uses titanium backup (which i believe everyone does, or should).
It can saves previous versions of all app's and you can easily reinstall them to old version.
I've been reading a lot about market problems lately and i think its due to their end mostly, not ours since there are so many with issues. I hope it just "works" again soon =)
I do use Titanium backup and bought the pro version a while back to support the developer. For me, it is one of those "must have" programs, particular with the constantly changing state of xdandroid development going on here.
I know this topic has probably been talked about already, and I am pretty sure I have already read a thread exactly like mine, but the question gets asked and then it goes off in different directions not giving an exact answer.
I have a Galaxy Nexus, brand new as of Saturday Jan 4. As soon as I got it, it got an update, I'm guessing to Android 4.0.2 since that is the version I have. My question has to do with My Verizon Mobile app, the Books app and the Email app. Will disabling these apps screw up anything with the phone, like are they very connected to any other apps or setting with the phone ?
Also, is disable like delete, if not how do I truly delete an app ? And while on topic of getting rid of things i dont use that wont effect the phone/other apps/anything, what other stock apps that come on the phone from the start could I get rid of with no side effects at all ?

Those 3 should be able to be disabled with no adverse effects.

Disable is just like it sounds. It removes the app from menus and stops it from running. In order to fully 100% delete system-level apps, you must be rooted.
There are many different threads/lists of "safe to disable" apps.
I've been getting a small pop-up add, usually from Microsoft, after every call I make. Anyone else getting them or know how to stop them?
Do you have any Microsoft related apps installed on your phone?
think about what apps youve installed in the past
go through them one by one and figure it out

You're right, it was a Microsoft app, Outlook. It's strange though, I had it installed on my Oneplus One and I never got the adds. Maybe it was the latest update or something.
Edit: The ads came back after uninstalling Outlook.

Didn't know this but good to know not to install Mickeysoft apps on my phone, I use touchdown expensive but great
Its not apps. Its a website you visited that's spamming you. Clear your history and cookies all that good stuff and it should get rid of the problem.
I had the same issue and this is what I was told
That's how I solved this issue on my LG V20 running Nougat:
Go to:
Settings / General / Google Services / Ads / Opt out of Ads Personalization
My 2 cents
update to Oct patchset. I have some awesome news!!! The Oct patchset fixes the Ram mgmt issue on Pixel devices for good. Looks like it was a leak in System UI.
I have tried to reproduce my bug and I can start as many apps as I want and it does not lock up anymore. You can refer
https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/pixel/2019-10-01
for more details.
Edit: I could keep about 20 apps, including camera, firefox, whatsapp, slack, gmail, messages, photos, play store, amazon shopping and so on. They stay put on my Pixel3XL!! Awesome!
Wow. So it took Google just a year to fix this?

Better late than never right.
So how exactly should this feature behave? I've never understood.
It should stay in the Recents drawer and not reload the app when re-opening?
Link in the OP doesn't work. This one has a list of updates, though: https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/pixel/2019-10-01

Not a feature. If this is true (what the OP is stating), this is how the phone should have behaved on day one. But yes, the apps should remain open after "re-opening" them from your app drawer.

Fixed.
Yes... I also noticed opening camera app doesn't kill my background apps (like Spotify, Google play music, GPS tracking sw) as often like before... Let's see if this keeps....
Anything like that for pie? Like, a fix I mean...
Any magisk module to help with that? Or something?
