built in facebook app wont update - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

The facebook app that came with the phone doesnt want to work. it was a good 2 weeks behind then I read to delete the "facebook" file in the main directory of the phone. did that reloaded and everything was fine could load photos again and everything but it seems its back again. Is something going on. is there a way to fix it other than putting a band aid over it ane continually deleting that file?

Bump. still having an issue with this.

We have the same issue. Any thoughts on this?

Tilt 2 Sense New Text Indicator Stuck at 1

It thinks I have a new text. I even deleted every text chain. Multiple resets. Ever happen to anyone else?
Stock Rom.
Yeah thats happend to me on my TouchFlo3D. Its a really weird bug. I think that it happens if u delete a message chain that still has a new message in it. Theres no way to fix it other than a hard reset cuz i went for about a month waiting for it to correct itself but it didnt so i had to hard reset. My best advice is to make sure u dont have any unread messages when u delete them
This happened to me recently i found an .exe app that corrects it for you. I don't have it here at work but i know its somewhere in this forum.
If you still can find it, message me and i'll email you the file when i get home.
No Hard Reset Needed....I understand your frustration LOL TRUST ME.
FOUND IT
here you go
It shows I have two new messages always for me too.
I just tired that file you posted because I have the same bug and when I run it, it says it found the the "new" SMS and fixes but it still shows up on the touchflo 3d.
When I run the app again, it shows no errors. However when I reboot the phone and run the app it shows the new SMS and fixes it, but it still showing up. fml.
I'm using the tilt 2 from at&t with wm 6.5.
EDIT: taking out the battery fixed it after using the app! Thanks!
ok so i downloaded the app but it wouldnt ipen on my computer. Now what do i do?

[Q] My Facebook app will no longer refresh. Anybody else?

Tilt 2 with the new ROM. Whether I use the app that is in ROM (1.07 I think) or the newer one from Marketplace when I tap "refresh" I get the hourglass (or whatever you call the circling dots now), but no refresh. I can post status updates. If I delete the facebook files from the root when FB first loads everything will be current, but no refreshing. I have tried uninstall, reinstall etc. No luck. I've been running the new ROM for a couple of weeks and this just started so i am assuming the ROM is unrelated.
Is anybody else having this issue (maybe it is a FB issue), or know anyway to fix this?
Same here, on the october stock 6.5 ROM.
Same...
I am having the same problem...
I was using Energy Sept, 7 ROM and Switched today to Sept, 24 ROM and still having this issue.
Went to marketplace and download latest version of FB and still having this issue? I logged out and logged back in and it refreshed but, It doesnt always work.
Someone please help us out...
I was just having a similar problem. Logging out and back in will let you refresh but only once.
Same here... I was just looking around to see if anyone else was having trouble. I'm running 11-SEPT Valkyrie_v7.4 FireStorm-LEO 23135 with Facebook v1.1.0.17.
KC
Same problem here ¬¬ I don't know what's happening with this app
I assume the problem is that Facebook has been through some changes, and Microsoft doesn't have time/interest to update their client.
Well I'm sorta glad to see that it's not just me
Happening to me too ... bummer
i have the same problem.
Does anyone get information from microsoft?
Add me to the list too
Please, complain here: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsmobilehelp/thread/79d1e81a-84df-4cbb-b258-c563b8a678bb
Lets see if Microsoft can hear us this time...
im in the stock-factory rom and its the same, no refresh in facebook
Mine hasn't worked for a few weeks now.
Mine has also stopped working.
Facebook App Solution
I'm having the same problem so I googled it and there was a solution (forgot where or who). Anyway, open file explorer and go to device. Now look for files that has the name facebook (I deleted 3 including a file named fbmail) and delete them, them soft reset. Now log-on to your FB account and everything should be as before.

Only works for one session.
I've had the same issue, and I'm affraid that Windows Mobile related questions will remain unanswered... This might not solve your problem guys, but this is the workaround that I currently use (already posted it in other forum):

Unroot/Re-root woes

Alright, so I was trying to use a program that some other people have said work fine but it wouldn't work, so I figured I would unroot/reroot and see if it helped. I restored the phone to factory settings, used the instructions that are readily available here and other places to unroot my phone and rooted it using the manual method (just like I did the day I got my phone) and tried to set everything back up, but have run into a few problems.
1) Text messaging
-I have used Handcent for a long time on old phones, and used it just fine on this phone, but when I got my phone set back up, texts were coming in from the wrong people. I would get a text from PersonA, but it would show up as PersonB and when I responded it would go to PersonB. The only way that I could respond to PersonA was to back out, go into the people app, choose PersonA and text them. When I did this, it would take me into the exact same thread but have PersonA's name at the top now. When PersonA responded, it would show up as PersonB again and I would have to do it all over.
2) Google Wallet
-Was working fine, even used it at McDonald's, but now when I try to load it up for the first time, it sits at a black screen until eventually it says "Wallet is not responding. Would you like to close it? (Wait) (OK)"
Oh, and the program that I originally went through all of this for is still giving me the same error about not being able to locate a partition to remount to write to. What do I need to do to get this thing back to working correctly?

This is happening to me! I am rooted, completely stock otherwise and using Handcent. Is this a handcent issue? Anyone have more insight into this?
I'm in the process of unrooting my phone again to see if it happens when I'm not rooted.
Update:
Unrooted, same issue with Google Wallet and messaging
Rooted again, same issue
I was kindof hoping that someone would have come in here by now with some "here, try this" or "yeah, that happened to me and this is how I fixed it" type post. Am I the first person that has run across these issues after flashing to stock files from code.google.com?
I'm on 2nd nexus and haven't had that issue with handcent on either phones. Stock or rooted..

Are you uninstalling and reinstalling your apps? Have you tried deleting your apps' respective caches?

Well the 3 obvious problems could be:
1) I am either following the steps to unrooting incorrectly. (I don't think that it is rooting that is causing the problem since I a) didn't have the problem before I unrooted the first time and b) the problem is recreated whether I am rooted or not.)
2) My phone is faulty
3) The files that I am using (downloaded directly from http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html) are damaged.
The MD5 matches the .tgz file.
Everything looks like it is going through correctly when I am flashing the files.
I don't think that I am following the instructions in correctly, so that narrows it down (in my head anyway). Has anyone else used the factory images for code.google.com? Have you tried running Google Wallet afterwards?

I have tried going into settings, force closing the app and clearing cache and I have tried resetting the phone to factory defaults. Neither changed how the app behaved. I still just get a black screen with the not responding message.
I did some more research into the Handcent problem, apparently it is fairly widespread on ICS and goSMS has the same issue. Stock is apparently not affected, so I am using that but it sucks...
I have seen a few of the GoSMS and Handcent posts, but I'm not completely sure that I am experiencing the same issue. Every post I have seen speaks of erratic problems. Mine is with every text message. Also, it didn't start happening until I flashed the factory images from code.google.com. Also, the problem only popped up when I started experiencing other problems (like with Google Wallet). Although we are having a similar issue, I believe the root problem of the issue is different, which is why the issues are slightly different.
Went and exchanged my phone today, rooted as soon as I walked in the door, installed everything back to the way that I had it and everything is working fine again. On my way to McDonald's for lunch.

Skype doesn't log in/gives error message

I have a Rooted Galaxy S-II. Aside from that it's basically stock. Just removed some of the bloatware.
Up until recently Skype was working just fine on my phone. As of (I think) the most recent update, whenever I start up Skype and try to log in, it gives me an error message to the likes of: "Skype has stopped working - Would you like to sign in again or exit Skype?" with the options to Exit or Sign In. If you pick "Sign In" it just sits there.
I've tried clearing data both through the phone and through Titanium Backup, and I've also tried deleting and reinstalling the app. Nothing is working.
I thought I read somewhere on the internet (not to say that that's a reliable or specific source to say the least) that with the newest update there's an inherent bug with Rooted phones and Skype not working. Don't know if that's accurate but it seems like it might be.
Anyone else seeing this? Have a fix? A workaround?
Thanks!
Happened to me too but I got signed in I just kept exiting and trying again it took about 5 times for me

After full restore Play Store does not auto push apps

I recently restored, locked, and went completely stock again to test out a few things and I have realized that the device no longer automatically sends my apps to the phone as it previously did. Is there a setting in the account im missing or anything I can do? Its a pain to have to go download all of them one by one
Yeah, i have this problem aswell.. Anybody knows what's up?

Mine did the same thing, good thing I had a full backup on titanium backup to speed the process up a little bit. I was just going between ROMs though.

You have to have "back up my account with Google services" checked when first setting up the rom....

Dude.. ya think that most people don't know that?
I have the same problem. Did a clean wipe and fresh flash today, and suddenly Google Play is not syncing my apps anymore. Does fine with the contacts and everything, just not Google Play. Note: this is on a Galaxy S2, not a Nexus, but I figured it would be good to know for everyone that this does not appear to be a Nexus issue, but a Play issue.
I've noticed it depends on what Rom you use. When I was on the more stock roms it always did it but now that I'm running aokp it doesn't.

same issue had backup on stock, didn't restore to AOKP

My C2P stopped working too. I switched to Chrome2Mobile (I think is what it's called) extention on my desktop, it works again and that ext lets me send links to my iPad too.
i only ever remember this working with gingerbread on my ns4g. from ics on, the restore feature has only been good for wallpaper and wifi passwords
I found a potential fix
I want to preface this by saying I wasn't having the same problem as you all are having when I log back into my google account after flashing my apps start downloading. My issue is that after it started I ended up in area without service(subway) and then half of my apps failed. I didn't feel like clicking each and re downloading them. The only thing I could think of was signing out of my google account which supposedly wipes your info and then signing back in to restart the sync and it worked for me so try it out and let me know if it works for you all. If it does please Thank this is only like my 2nd post here.

Thanks for the idea, seems like it had some potential.
I tried signing out of my google account, then signing back in... and it still didn't help get the auto restore going.
Any other ideas?
..... I think I remember reading a solution to this somewhere...
