Xoom with apple wireless keyboard. - Xoom Accessories

How would I go about pairing the wireless keyboard for Mac with my Xoom?
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App

Same way you would pair any device...
Turn on BT on Xoom.
Turn on keyboard.
Scan for devices.
Select keyboard.
Pair.
Connect.

I just got my keyboard last night and will add to the steps above. You will be prompted to type a number in when paring. Type the number on your keyboard and then hit the enter button. It took me a few times before I figured out you needed to hit the enter button.
Keyboard works great! So far I am really happy!!

Pretty much what Mandelbrot says. I got my apple wireless keyboard and logitech mouse working my xoom.

Chinese Bluetooth Mini Keyboard

Bought this from: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...44214&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_3527wt_1139
I can't get it to pair. Any suggestions?
Have you tried to pair it with any other devices? Perhaps the passkey is not correct, common ones for those devices are 0000 or 1234. Also there might be some kind of button on the keyboard that you might need to push for pairing. Just some Ideas. What happens when you try to pair it?
I'm able to detect it and have tried both 0000 and 1234. It said 0000 in the manual
Two things:
- Try to see if changing the input will help. I didn't know about it until after #2. I can't say it would have worked anyhow as it never really connected.
- Get BlueInput. If you don't, you will spend a helluva lot of time farting around trying to get it to work. Or one of the other drivers.
The first one is MOST important after it connects as it could be working and you just not see the results.
It's a cool lil'keyboard but I'm gonna give it to a daughter and get a freedom.
some bt kb is not default pin code for pair , that device will display ramdom pin code for pair, but atrix not support that method pin code , i got magic pro bt kb, system can't pair too, but i using apps:blueinput was support that.
Crap, I got the same one. Looks like we'll both be troubleshooting this one in a week or two
So guys, I bought it too and cant pair with Atrix.
Any sugestion?
I did bought the same xingling mini bt keyboard, and it is completely compatible with the native bt keyboard driver that already comes with the atrix, there is no need to download any other driver. All you have to do is to press and hold the pairing button for 3 secs (the one on the upper right) than select the keyboard on the atrix bt control, than enter the code 0000 on the atrix when asked, press ok, than imediately type 0000 on the keyboard than press enter on the keyboard. VERY FAST timming it is at the essence here.
Now I'm trying to find a case that uses both the atrix and the mini bt keyboard.
P.S. After pairing for the first time you still have to type 0000 + enter on the keyboard every time you turn the keyboard on
Pistolaobr
It´s worked!
Valeu!
Thanks...
Does any one know a case that I can use both the chinese bt keyboard and the atrix. Thanks.
Gingerbread 2.3....3? supports pinless pairing right?

W0w. My Bizlink MHL adaptor & Rii mini keyboard has just arrived!

Hi all,
I have just received my BizLink MHL addaptor and my Rii mini Bluethooth keyboard with touchpad from Mobile Fun. I have just connected them all up tried a brief bit of sofa surfing and then I thought I would test out the bluetooth keyboard and MHL by posting this message to you all.
I have just checked on the Mobile Fun website and the MHL adaptor has now just sold out [it was shown as in stock yesterday] but I am guessing that a lot of you will now have your MHL addaptor. As for the the keyboard there are some issues with it, but as these are the first words that I am typing on it, it will take me some time to get use to it. The keyboard has the four cursor keys [up down left right] which are really useful and the touchpad right mouse button acts as the back button.
However before you rush out and buy this key board I am having serious issues with the key board that I will investicate more after I have clicked send on this post. I will provide more details later.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
OK I have now had some time to test the Rii mini keyboard with the MHL adaptor connected up to the TV. Generally it has the potential of being a very positive experience (apart from some bluetooth communication issues with the keyboard -- more about that later). The four cursor keys work very well as they are fully supported by Android and are especially good for editing text and I can easily navigate round the phone and the browser using them. The keyboard it self is too small for serious typing (if you want to do that then I would recommend getting a full size keyboard). The F1 key acts as the menu button and the esc key and the right mouse button both act as the back button. I can't find find any way to access the home button using the keyboard.
The touchpad works perfectly on when using it connected upto a PC but does not work quite so well when connected to the S2. This shows that this must be android issues with the mini keyboard touch pad rather than the Rii device it self. There is no pinch zoom with the touch pad and dragging the screen to scroll using the touch pad and pressing and holding the left mouse button is possible but very awkward.
The phone works best in landscape mode when connected to the tv but does not always go into landscape mode so you have to go and lift the phone up give it a little shake to make it go into landscape. The software keyboard occasionally comes up on the screen when you don't want it to so you have to press the right mouse button to make it go away. I have found a little trick on the stock browser -- pressing shift and one of the cursor key makes it easer to scroll the browser.
The youtube app works the best when connected to the TV as it automatically plays out the video in landscape at full resolution for an HD def video.
I haven't got to the bottom of the reason that is causing reliability issue with s2 MHL and the mini key board, but it looking like it may be interference on the bluetooth connection. The issue shows it self as the auto repeat characters keep appearing when you don't want them to causing the alternate character choice popup from the virtual key board to keep appearing.
I think bluetooth is generally broken on S2

I just got the Rii Keyboard and it works just fine on my Galaxy Note. The only problem is that i can't find out how to zoom for example in the browser. does anybody have an idea how to do that??? the keyboard is perfekt when you whant to sit on the sofa an connect your phone to the TV an play some games or surf in the internet.
how does it pair with G Note.
I have a Galaxy Note too and thinking about getting one of these keyboards.
What i want to know is, can the Note pair up direct to to the keyboard or do you need to use an otg cable and supplied bt dongle.
Thanks
John.

Problem with Logitech Tablet Keyboard for Android 3.0+

I am using the above keyboard with my Samsung Galaxy S3 (also connected to a monitor). The keyboard pairs and connect without a problem and seems to work fine. However, as soon as I add a Logitech Tablet Mouse, the keyboard starts to go into sleep mode very quickly (after a few seconds) as soon as I use the mouse to navigate. The keyboard wakes up after about a second when hitting a key, but it is still very annoying. I searched for similar reported problems, but I did not find any yet. Any suggestions?

Re: Bluetooth Keyboards don't work N7 & 4.3

Re: Bluetooth Keyboards don't work N7 & 4.3
Hi:
I culled the following list from XDA, Phandroid and Nexus 7/Nexus 10 Forums. Some folks have gotten keyboards to work on the Nexus 4 and 10 but I haven't seen any reports of success with the Nexus 7 2012 or 2013 running 4.3:
Zagg
I'm using a Zagg, and it'll pair. I can enter the code. The Nexus seems to recognize what it is, but once it's all set up the keyboard is completely non-functional. It wont move around the home screens and it wont input in a text editor.
Perixx PERIBOARD-806, Bluetooth ALU Folding Keyboard
It pairs with difficulty and shows connected but the soft keyboard still appears and it will not type.
Apple Bluetooth Keyboard
Is anyone else having issues with their bluetooth keyboard when paired with the Nexus 7? I have an Apple Bluetooth keyboard and it repeats characters, and inserts the spaces out of order.
My Apple A1255 keyboard pairs but no longer connects in 4.3 on my Nexus 7 (2012). Works on my Nexus 4 with 4.3 and worked on 4.2.2 no problems.
Spider Bluetooth Keyboard
I recently purchased a Spider bluetooth keyboard and I can get it to pair with my Nexus 7 (which recently updated to 4.3). The tablet recognizes it, and I type in the numerical code and press enter on the keyboard and the Nexus 7 responds. However, I can't get it to work in any other app after it pairs (I've tried unpairing it, turning it off/on, restarting the tablet, etc).
Unknown Bluetooth Keyboard
I have a Bluetooth Keyboard and he works perfectly if im using the 4.2.2. Now only the letters work, no Space, no enter, no backspace and nothing more... Anyone have this problem too? (Sorry for my poor English)
I got the same problem with my bluetooth keyboard and other issue with the ShareKM app The cursor is invisible.
Kensington Bluetooth Keyboard
I have a Kensington UK bluetooth keyboard and although it shows as connected and typing the numbers to pair it worked, I get no input at all...
GYMLE Bluetooth Keyboard
I have a GMYLE keyboard and it will connect but no key will register on screen
Has anyone gotten any Bluetooth Keyboard to work with the Nexus 7?
Does anyone know how to report this to Google?
Tom
I paired a Logitech K810 and a Logitech BT mouse and both worked fine. (2013 Nexus 7 running stock 4.3, stock recovery, bootloader still locked, no root).
My Logitech Tablet keyboard paired and worked just fine with my 2013 Nexus 7.

Hi:
Thanks for the clarification. Others have reported compati bility with Logitech keyboards as well. I also saw a post that the Rapoo E6100 works with the Nexus 7 as well.
I wrote the same post to Android Police and Cameron Summerson ran with it posting an article today:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...-compatibility-with-many-bluetooth-keyboards/
Hopefully the article will bring the issue to Google's attention and an upcoming fix will come for the rest of us.
An Android Police user commented:
"I hear they have "top men" working on the issue Getting Google to admit the problem exists is the first step. A HUGE first step."
I just hope it's the case.
Best,

My Apple bt keyboard and mighty mouse connect and function without issue. Also my wired Xbox controller works perfect with an OTG cable.
Are you able to use both your apple bt keyboard and mighty mouse at the same time?

I wish ZAGG made cool keyboard cases for the nexus 7 like they do for the iPads. I got a couple keyboard cases from Zagg and they are very cool. If there was a high demand for it they would probably do it.

My logitech keyboard (the one with tablet stand and says android 3+ on it) is all over the place.
FN keys work(volume, mail, etc), but when I open a note taking app, it repeatedly gets stuck on keys.
It types like this: "I like XDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
I'm hoping it's a keyboard issue, not the Nexus. Unfortunately, I do not have another bluetooth keyboard to test this out.
I am using this one and working perfectly

The HP Touchpad Keyboard works fine with mine. http://www.amazon.com/HP-FB344AA-AC3-TouchPad-Wireless/dp/B0055QYJK6
I was able to get my ZaggFlex keyboard to pair and to register typing by following these steps (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44188186&postcount=19).
I now have my ZaggFlex and an Apple Wireless Keyboard (latest model, I believe) paired and functional. Also have an Apple Magic Mouse working but I don't believe anyone ever had issues with mice, just keyboards.
I do have a problem with typing lag and characters repeating if I also have Wi-Fi enabled. As soon as I turn it off everything works smoothly.
Hm. Ok, so I restarted the N7, "forget the device," re-paired it, and now it works fine.
I'm typing on it right meow.
I was really dreading replacing the N7 again...sigh.

Looks real nice, comes with an included stand which is a plus. Just want to make sure it actually pairs.

Just pair my Logitech K810 with it. Work flawlessly. :good:

What is the best Mouse/ keyboard to use with AFTV?

What is the best way to get mouse control on a AFTV? A few apps need a mouse. My AFTV is wired, so the apps on my mobile don't seem to work. Thanks.
Logitech Wireless Touch Keyboard K400 avail on Amazon.
I considered the Logitech, but am now Thinking something smaller (mini keyboard)
I have a Logitech K700 for the GoogleTV. It works wonderfully, even in CWM.
I just bought a MeLe F10 Deluxe combo remote/keyboard/air-mouse and it's pretty fantastic. I had to do a bit of .kl editing to remap the home button to work, so root came in handy, but other than that the thing is great. I was able to program in all of the important buttons from my TV's IR remote so I was able to ditch that remote entirely. It even surprisingly works in CWM and Rbox's boot loader. Well worth $30.
I got an IPazzPort KP-810-16 5-in-1 (air mouse, back-lighted mini keyboard, learning IR remote). It works so well that I am considering buying their Bluetooth version (for my other FTV) so I don't have to plug a RF dongle in the USB of the FTV
How is the Mouse Controls with the MeLe F10 Deluxe Combo, is it done by moving the remote around in the air?
The IPazzPort KP-810 looks good and small. Is the keyboard not to small to use and hows the mouse control?

Yes, it's motion controlled like a wiimote. Right above the directional pad is the button for left mouse click. You click that button when you want to turn mouse mode on (which also turns the back button into right click), and then when you want to turn it off you can just press any of the directions on the D-pad. It works great if you only need a mouse here or there for navigating certain apps, but I wouldn't exactly try to play games with it. That said, my LG TV came with an airmouse remote when I bought it, and the airmouse on this is so much smoother and useable than that remote that it's not even funny. It works surprisingly well.
What about the Lenovo N5902, as anyone tried it with the Fire TV?
I have a mini bluetooth keyboard with touch screen and mouse button that I got from Amazon. It works well. It is a QQ-Tech model lS11-BT05. I first side loaded the settings app and used it to find the keyboard.
I've tried several wireless keyboard/pads (not all with the Fire TV). Though not perfect, the K400 is the best of the lot.

Keyboard is not too small, I think the size is good. I tried other wireless keyboard, either key presses are not registered or key presses got repeated. Those issues don't happen with the IPazzPort and that's why I said it is good. Air mouse control is good too, easy to use
Logitech k400 works great. Best choice imo.

Agreed, I have tried many also, k400 is the best, however, I also own
an old logitech revue, the keyboard for it is a k700 keyboard. It is the mac daddy of them all. it has directional and enter keys below the touchpad.
Here is a link to a picture of it. note the directional arrows below the touchpad. much nicer I am only posting this link so you can see a picture of what it is I'm refering to. not for sale or purchase reasons.

I retired my logitech revue after getting my aftv. Since the keyboard does not come with a usb dongle I just used a regular logitech usb nano receiver and used the software from logitech to link the two in windows. I then connected the nano reciever to the aftv where it is "The Best" keyboard in my opinion. If you don't have a dongle then just buy a logitech mouse at the store or order the nano receiver for $12 off amazon.
before you nay say me you better own own one. lol
I own several Logitech Revues. The keyboard is great. I thought it was IR, not Rf but I could be wrong. Good to know I will be able to reuse it. Do they sell them standalone and with bluetooth?

no bluetooth that i"m aware just wireless with usb nano receiver compatible. A logitech nano receiver can allow up to 8 logitech unity compatible devices. you just have to have your own and program it with the logitech unity software.

Using one of these . nice keyboard with touch panel. The media keys also work (most) which is nice as the play button is enter. I don't usually like touchpads but in thus situation it's fine. I also have a generic. Acer branded off of my revo tested and working.
The Sum vision is Samsung compatible for your info. P
UPDATE just checked media buttons . all work in xbmc including volume. Stop play etc in youtube and the Home button most everywhere. I also would let you know it trips into standby quite quickly to save battery a quick press on connect wakes it up

Can one load a web browser on the FireTV if its rooted etc?
I'd be curious in getting a wireless keyboard/mouse combo.. But I'd also like to be able to use it as a web browser type of device?
Yes, I have chrome sideloaded on my AFS which is not rooted. Works well with a mini keyboard mouse TouchPad combo.
