Rainbow marks on screen - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I was wondering if anyone can help me fix a problem I've got with my tp2. Basically the device turns on and I can make phone calls and use programs fine. However I can't use the touch screen at all, the hard buttons all work, but touching the screen has no effect.
When the screen is turned off I can see a rainbow pattern on it and it moves to my touch. This could be water damage but I don't remember dropping it in water. The water mark is red on the phone and battery, so it probably is water damage.
Just wondering if anyone knows an easy fix for this. Thanks for reading

Just had exactly the same thing happen this week. At first if I turned it off and firmly pressed my thumbs up the screen (as if I was pushing the rainbow marks to the edge of the screen) I could get it to respond for a while. Then it started to get larger spots and now I can't get it to respond no matter what I do...

If the touch screen is not functional, then you'll likely need to replace the digitizer. I would suggest purchasing the LCD/digitizer combos, as they are easier to install for first timers.

Touch screen problem after switching LCD

Hi,
a while ago, I cracked my Uni's LCD. So I ordered a new one including the digitizer, opened my Uni and swithched the displays. Now at times, the touch screen wouldn't work at all - unless I tap the upper left corner (the start button; in portrait mode) or the lower left corner (the left button or slightly above it; in landscape). After that, tapping everywhere works normally. Does anyone have an idea what this could be caused by or how to solve it?
Thanks in advance!
I'd make sure your contacts are very clean. If you think maybe they're not, then take out and clean contacts with dry cloth or contact cleaner and re-insert.
Also, make sure there's no debris around screen. That nothing is pressing on digitiser anywhere else that gives false postive for it.
enigma may be able to help you better, I think she's more accustomed to the HW
Generally, all touch problems are associated with a digitizer. Without actually seeing your device I assume your digitizer is faulty and the problem may be either improper adhesion or the soldering joint improperly formed. Adhesion problem may be resolved by warming the screen with a blowdryer, no need to get it hot, just slightly warm all over and smooth with a soft cloth as if you are applying a screen protector, it loosens the special sticky gel that attaches the digitizer to the LCD and usually helps in cases where sensitivity is sporadic or screen calibration returns wrong response. Check for any bubbling, although not seen when the screen is viewed directly, some may be noted at the angle.
However, in your case there are certain points that need to be pressed in order for it to work, so I take it, the screen works most of the time and the problem is intermittent, the corners that need to be pressed might be the ones where adhesion is not up to scratch.
Try re-assembly, if all fails - contact the screen supplier, faults can happen, especially in non-OEM parts.
Do keep us updated if you find the solution, I am sure all members can benefit.
Problem solved
Well over time, the situation changed so that the touch screen didn't work at all, unless I was pressing one spot above the LCD fairly hardly, at which time it worked without problems. Once I stopped presing the spot, it stopped working again.
So I tried opening the Uni and disconnecting and reconnecting the LCD FPC (which was located just under the spot that needed to be pressed), which seems to have solved the problem

Glass replacement, screen no longer working

Hi guys, cracked my note 2 glass last week and decided to replace JUST the glass myself. This included me warming up the screen with a hair dryer and replacing the glass. All went well, was VERY careful only to find out when I turn the phone on the screen is either blank OR white, and you can faintly see the boot logo. This alternates randomly when im prodding the motherboard. Does this mean there is a dodgy connection? Can I fix this, or have I completely melted the amoled when heating?
Forgot to add: Phone turns on fine, boot sound is there, capacative buttons light up. Even touch screen works (I can answer phone calls)
Thanks guys

[Q] Replaced Screen, unresponsive touch screen

So, my screen cracked, and I replaced it by melting the glue and taking out the screen.I did it fine, but the touch screen isn't responsive now! The digitizer appears to be completely dead, no matter what I do. I used a mouse to turn on the developer item that tests for touch responses on the phone and it doesn't detect the slightest bit of touching. The digitizer has no damage aside from a tiny pinhole dent on the far side. Is there some kind of ribbon that connects that may have been cut or something? Just how does it detect pressure in the first place? Please help as soon as possible. Thank you.

[Q] Touch screen doesn't respond to touch

My S3 has been working fine for months sort of. I bought it off of ebay with a huge crack in the glass, then my brother dropped it and all the glass fell out. To use the phone we has to touch the bare LCD of the phone, which after a while we just but a screen cover over it. I waited 2 months, bought a new glass replacement and put it on, everything worked just fine. After a little the home button when pressed to the left a little would make the screen go crazy. it would start tapping and swiping in random places. After locking and waking the screen the phone was normal again. after that, i removed the glass again, and this time when putting it back on if i pushed the home button it pushed the glass down a little, which would turn my screen black. locking the phone and waking the screen again turned the screen back on. Also the screen was a lot less sensitive, i'd have to tap a key 2-5 times sometimes to hit a specific letter. whenever that happened i put 3 dsi's to weigh it down and push the screen down, which would improve the sensitivity. that worked twice, and now my screen doesn't respond to touch at all. the screen will wake, but only when i press on the bottom right corner of the screen will it respond to touch. Any word on what could be the problem? i need to know what to buy to replace in the phone. I've already taken the whole phone apart and plugged everything back in, after i had tried everything to get my phone to respond. Could this be a digitizer problem, or an LCD problem? any possible fixes without having to replace anything?
The first issue was using the device without the glass installed. By touching the bare LCD you most likely damaged it. Your best bet at this point is probably going to be to replace the Touch assembly ( Glass / LCD Touch digitizer ) . Also keep in mind, when doing any sort of Screen replacement. Be sure to keep everything as clean, and dust free as possible.

[Q] Need help with Note 2 touch screen issue

Hi, I have an issue that has formed after glass replacement on my Note 2. I was extremely careful in trying not to damage anything during the replacement process and I did not use excessive heat either, keeping the screen under 170 degrees F to loosen the cracked screen. The issue is that about half the time the phone touch screen will stop working during normal use and then when I hit the lock button on the right side and then unlock the phone again it will be ok for a while before it acts up again. So far, I have done a soft and hard reset with no luck. I noticed the problem is worse when the 12 small screws in the back of the phone are very tight, I loosened them all a few turns and this helped it act up less. The pen always works. I installed a multi touch testing app and this proves that something is up because it sometimes reads fingers that arent there, generally in the middle of the screen and sometimes this programs just completely flips out and reads fingers everywhere. So at this point Im guessing that maybe the replacement glass is too close to the LCD? It also does seem to be negatively affected if I bend the whole phone slightly, this also sometimes causes the touch screen to flip out of just quit altogether. Any input is extremely appreciated!
Is there supposed to be anything between the glass and the lcd when the glass is replaced? Sorry if thats a dumb question.
