How do we feel about this case? It looks like it's sturdy and should be awesome. I watched a few videos on the original iPad one, and well, they worked pretty swell and looked very, very nice. I feel as though this could be a definite purchase.
Does anyone have it and have opinions on it?
Not a big fan of any current leather cases for Xoom. All look kinda low quality and rough.
Honestly, I feel the same about all leather cases. I just haven't seen a good case with built in kick stand like any iPad case. This has the original case's design and I really like that idea. I wish it were a soft rubber instead of leather, but there's nothing I can do about that.
Just looked at the item. One thing I don't like is the plastic screen shield. I imagine it would collect and smash dust against the screen. I'd prefer it were open and use a screen protector, or not.
Just got this case in the mail. First there is no plastic cover for screen, that is a screen cover on the Xoom itself.
This case is really sturdy, feels great. Feels like real leather (advertised as real leather). The there are cutouts for everything., though when closed the lid blocks the charing cutout. When in standing mode, both orientations are great, the shallow one is perfect for typing (unlike the folio case from motorola) and the steep incline works well for movies(again unlike the folio the case). I got it for $16 + shipping and it is worth well more that the $40 case I got from motorola .

I ordered an A-Case from Amazon.com on Monday and it arrived last night. It's 10x better than the folio case from Moto. Not sure if it will be better than the moto leather case, but for the price, it's a fine piece of work!!!!! Just wanted to throw that out there...
I actually got both. It's very similar in shape and texture. However, the A-case is softer, thus feels a little bulkier (but not much). The A-case has their logo embossed on the front. The Motorola leather case does not have any logos or printing on it.
I personally like the Motorola case better because no logo and it feels a little slimmer.
Tip: The edges get scratch easily. Just use a black magic marker and paint it black. No one will notice.
Got the A-Case as well from Amazon - I really, really like it. I never got the Moto one, mainly becuse of poor reviews, but the A-case is awesome!
ACase is fantastic. Whether you factor the price or not. So far it's my favorite.
I actually like the xoom folio I picked up at BestBuy when I got my xoom. The only thing I don't like about it is having to leave the screen exposed while charging, but I'm thinking I can resolve that in minutes with the help of a sharp leather hole punch..
The acase looks nice butappears to block the headphone jack when closed.. I don't know which is worse. Xoom+Pandora=win
Bluetooth headset ftw.
I thought about getting the ballistic case, but I honestly don't need something that big unless I'm out in the field in the military, and for those I don't bring my tablets, the phone is good enough
now I'm looking at the slim cases just for basic protection and I have found a few
Here are my choices -
AYL® High Quality Slim Leather Case Folio
This one is nice, but no prime on amazon (I like to use that feature for fast free shipping and get my money's worth lol) but I think the ratings are skewed because the company sends you a stylus pen if you write a positive review... so everyone is rating the damn thing a 5 star. it's ridiculous and I can't trust the reviews on that thing because of it...
Body Glove Moto Xoom Phantom Case
It's an inexpensive case that seems ok like a not as tough ballistic case, but no screen cover which I kind of want (and no tablet stand)
Acase Slim Leather Folio Case
This thing seems identical to the AYL and I can't tell a damn difference, and it has prime. some people said it doesn't stay put when you have it on tilt while you type though...
rooCASE Executive Portfolio (Black) Leather Case Cover
Now I really like this one and it looks professional but no stand for it, so I don't know about that...
Snugg Motorola Xoom Case Cover and Flip Stand
Just a very sleek nice looking case, I love that white sticthing
I just bought the rooCase and it's nice...a bit bulky, not really slim, unless you use the inner sleeve by itself, but it's very protective and the case doubles as a stand. It's like carrying around a rather thick agenda, with all the pros and cons of that.
AYL CASE
Got the AYL case 2 weeks ago, did not receive that Stylus promotion though.
Overall I would give it a 4.5/5 as its all good except that the top is closed just by pure pressie, so I'm afraid after constant usage the stitching will start to give out.
I would recommend it though. Solid case.
How about that acase slim? it looks identical...
that roocase I think is bit too much for what I want it.

I'd say go with the AYL case... it looks nearly identical, to the carbon fiber folio case from kevikev:

I've had the kevikev case for about 6 months now, and I absolutely love it. I haven't even thought about another case. I notice the AYL case has a cutout for charging and ports too which is nice.

I love that case. The CF look is real nice too, I might go for that case when it's in stock. Shame not on amazon

I do not have any of those cases, I have a zoogue, but I could not use a case without a stand. No stand narrows your choices a bit.

Case Review – Cruzerlite Spi-Force
I was recently contacted by Cruzerlite asking if I would review a case for them. I decided to go outside of my comfort zone (TPU cases) and review a case made for protection.
For disclaimer purposes, let me start by saying I despise Otterbox and other bulky cases. I think they take away from the design of the phone and make the phone too bulky. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my new Spi-Force case and put it on. The first thing I noticed was the build quality. This case is a two-piece case made of TPU and Polycarbonate and everything feels very sturdy. The white part is TPU (which we all know shows dirt after awhile) while the black part is the Polycarbonate. All ports line up perfectly and the cutouts for the back are spot on. This is something that bothers me on other cases (holes cut too big – off centered) so I was very happy when everything lined up here.
Obviously, I put the white part on first --- immediately noticing that I could rock this case without the black piece. It looks better and fits like a glove, however you lose the added protection and the kickstand. Speaking of the kickstand, it’s definitely one of the better ones I’ve tried. You won’t be able to use it vertically, but it works like a champ horizontally. The kickstand is very sturdy (made of polycarbonate) and it locks into place. I tried a Casemate case with a kickstand and this Cruzerlite one kicks it to the curb.
The front part of the case has a nice lip, so you can set your phone down and your screen will be lifted. On Cruzerlite’s website, they do have a drop test to show you how durable this case is. Needless to say, I came away very impressed.
Here is why I like it better than the Otterbox Commuter (the only one I considered buying):
*Not a lint trap
*Not slippery (has a great grip in the hand)
*Better design (IMO) and has many different color options
*Doesn’t feel as bulky in hand or pocket
This is a case I would actually rock on a daily basis, which is huge considering I hate anything other than TPU. To anyone who works construction or a similar trade that needs protection, I would recommend giving this a shot if you aren’t too keen on Otterbox or other companies. It’s a good price ($20) and by viewing the drop test, you can see how durable this case is -- not to mention the better grip and resistance to lint.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

Sorry I can't post any other pics. I'm running AOKP build 3 and my camera hates me
Ok.. but it's ugly. As hell.

Agreed
Lol.
Not NEARLY as ugly as some other protection cases. I guess it's a matter of opinion. I don't need puke orange mixed with bile green for a case

Thanks for this review, man. I've been stuck with some crappy INCIPIO case that I bought when I got the S3 on release day. (Verizon sucks at keeping Samsung accessories in stock.) NO GRIP on that damn thing...which is something I need where I work.
I've been looking for a good case that has GRIP. This appears to be "the one". Looks cool, too. (IMO.) The little stand in the back is a huge bonus.
Thanks for the info. You hit all of the important key points instead of making some stupid, long-winded, drawn-out review.
Hey XDA,
I recently ordered this case to replace my Ringke Fusion (which I both like and hate) and hopefully I will like it enough to keep it as my long term case. I haven't noticed much as far as reviews for this particular case so I was thinking of doing one for it. I have a new qi charger coming with it so I should be able to test that and see if it adversely affects the glass screen protector I have on right now. If anyone out there is interested in pictures of the case on the phone or anything like that, let me know and I'll do my best to include them when I review it on Thursday, I'm a little bit of a case junkie and typically try out several for my phones during their life time, but this is the first higher end case I'll have for the N5 and I'm really excited to see how it turns out.

Probably no real reviews of this case because they're already well-known. Others have already posted, and I'll back it up, Qi wireless charging works perfectly with it. Simply the best cases you can buy. Also, the holsters are pretty fantastic.
I got the case in today and as apparently everyone knows already, this case is quality made. I previously had a Ringke fusion case on my N5 and liked being able to see the nexus logo, but hated the tpu layer and how the back collected dust every time it was put into a pocket. I decided to go with a more traditional 2 layer case and I thought that the Seidio Dilex looked the best out of the ones currently available.
Pros:
- After seeing the product in person, I'm immediately sold on this design. The case is much darker black than it appears on the website (bright lighting in their product photos) and the rubberized coating on the PC layer is the classic silky smooth texture that Seidio is known for and has used for years. On a side note, the other colors are actually really nice looking too if you prefer something other than black and it looks like they have the same texture coating. The case feels really good in hand because of the soft texture and the silicone actually feels really similar.
- The kickstand also adds just a little weight to the bottom of the phone and makes it somewhat easier to balance, hold and manipulate with one hand. Speaking of the kickstand, it's actually aluminum instead of plastic which is a nice touch. The best part is that the kickstand is spring loaded (slightly) to the outward position but also contains a magnet to hold it securely in place when not in use. It appears to be pretty well attached to the case so hopefully it will hold up over time.
- The ports are all pretty well lined up with the cutouts and they seem big enough to accommodate most cables.
- Qi charging works just fine, at least on the cheap chinese one I also got in today. NFC doesn't appear to be affected either, although I only tried once.
- I'm currently using a Nillkin glass screen protector and it appears that the silicone is soft enough not to interfere with the edges of the screen protector. May not be the same with other brands.
Cons:
- The only thing I can think of is that because the outer layer only presses the edges in the middle and corners, the silicone seems to be a little loose or saggy inbetween the "arms" of the outer shell. I'm hoping that settles into place over time but if it catches on my pockets too much, it might actually get worse.
- The sticky texture is great for grip, but also picks up a lot of dust, but that's not news to anyone who has used a silicone case before.
In conclusion, I'd probably give this case 4.7 out of 5 stars. I like just about everything about it but I wish the silicone they used was just a little less pliable.
Pictures of the Case
Sorry, I know the pictures are garbage (I had to take them with my old phone so the N5 could be in the case) but I'd be happy to answer any questions y'all might have.

Looks real nice little too thick for my taste though.

This looks almost exactly like the generic thick kickstand cases that are being sold under various brands at various prices.
Dilex Case and Qi
Good morning. I wanted to follow up on your case experience with Qi charging I put this case on a Samsung Galaxy S5 and used a powerbot circular charging pad. I found that to get the charger aligned, I needed to prop the device up on the kickstand so it was a little firther from the pad, and I could not get a charging lock.
I'm trying to figure out if that is a function of the powerbot's charging signal or the anatomy of my Qi pad. Does your phone sit square on the charging pad? or is it propped up on the kickstand?
Thanks,
Marcva
This is my review of the $25 Benuo Galaxy S8 plus leather flip case:
https://www.amazon.com/Benuo-Vintag...172439&sr=8-4&keywords=benuo+leather+case+s8+
I received a free case in exchange for an honest review.
First thing is first, the case is a good case, if you like the folio design and like leather. Personally I love the design, but leather isn’t something I generally care about in cases.
Design:
I like the design, the case opens nicely and generally stays shut, even without a magnetic closure. The stitching looks nice and all the ports are clear and able to be used. Wireless charging works as is should, including fast wireless charging.
There isn’t much to dislike here, unless you dislike the idea of a leather folio case, in which case why are you looking at this case?
Quality:
I’ve only had the case for a bit over a full day, but it feels like it should last quite a while, the only thing I’ve noticed so far is some scuffing on the leather, giving it an older look. I understand this is a quality that people sometimes look for in leather. The company claims it is handmade, and I have no reason to disbelieve them.
There is some discoloration on the lighter inside pieces already, leading me to believe they died the leather. Also the ear piece cutout of the felt on the front flap seems slightly misaligned. I’ve included pictures to show what I mean, it doesn’t seem to cause any issues with the phone so it isn’t a problem I would care much about.
Features:
There is a distinct lack of features here. The case does not auto turn on/off the screen and there is no card holder. In short the case is a case, and nothing more.
Overall:
For $25 it is a good enough leather case. I would say the price is about right, though if they included a way to auto turn on/off the screen I would be more inclined to call this a must buy. As it is, if you want a nice looking leather folio case, this is a good case for a fair (if slightly higher than I would like).

I have this case and the only thing I really dislike is holding the case open while taking a picture. As for quality it holds the phone nice and tight and this is NOT man made leather but real animal hide.
Didn't think it was man-made (fake) leather, but was hand made with real leather (not sewn by machines).
