Hi, I tried unrooting my phone using a RUU which is for the 3 branded HTC Desire it went successfully but after unplugging it from the computer the phones screen is not coming on!?!?
The touch screen itself is working, but showing just blank screen
Somebody please help
Can you still boot into recovery? Did you do a wipe before flashing the RUU? Maybe just try flashing again? :/
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I think I can boot into recovery but I can't see the screen at all.
I've tried re-flashing several RUU's but many showing errors.
#Also my Desire is the SLCD version
Could be a dead screen... get it repaired.
Youve probably flashed an older ruu for an amoled screen.
I think someones posted a link to a newer one recently here on xda. Do a search for something like '3 uk ruu'

Hello,
I am new and I in a problem with my HTC DESIRE.
I have a HTC DESIRE by the English operator O2 with HBOOT 0.93 and RADIO 5.09.05.30_2 I tried to install version FORYO 2.2 by WIFI, the file OTA2.2 was be download and I launched the installation. After some restart DESIRE jammed on the first screen (blue screen with the logo O2) since the tél does not ignite any more.
What is the solution for problem?????? What is that I have to install a new ROM??? What ROM and How????
Thank you very much for your help.
The same happened to me. Luckily last July I held off. This time thought they MUST have got it right. I installed like you and ended up exactly the same. I contact O2 and told them what happened and they"understood" saying they had hundreds new in stock (2.1 of course) and put one in the post overnight. Up and running now but I hadn't backedup except contacts. Problem remains....do I go with the O2 upgrade or root!
I'm using o2 branded froyo HTC desire. When I did the OTA, the phone rebooted and was on the o2 splash screen for a long time. I left at that for a long time till it completed the whole process of updating to froyo, so I would suggest you exercise patienceand don't touch anything until it completes.

I'd be more worried if my phone did ignite!!! lol!!
Joking aside, if you don't mind losing your data you can install the full 2.2 ROM from scratch (assuming you're on o2 UK). You can get the full ROM file here:
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_144166_signed.exe
To install it, turn off the phone and turn it back on holding the back button. Once at the white screen with FASTBOOT in red connect the USB cable and it'll say FASTBOOT USB. Then run the file you downloaded. It should do the whole update again and hopefully, this time, work
DESIRE Problem
I tried to install a HTC ROM by Rom Manager one using (RUU_Bravo_Froy2_UK_2.14.207.1_Radio_ 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_14416 6_signed) but have every hays the installation stops in 82 % with the error message 140 " files cannot be read, re-try with a complete file). I downloaded 3 files but always the same message.
Now I have DESIRE with the black screen and silver HTC and in four corners a triangle with an exclamation mark. And in the fastboot marked RUU in orange there, I have not the screen of the fastboot and recovry.
What is the solution of this problem???
Hi all,
I'll give a quick outline here then go into more detail below if you need it. i've tried things suggested in the other bricked htc threads but none seem to work.
I've basically follwed the root guide at droiden, made a gold card and rooted my htc desire phone which went ok. problem was i then installed the suggested rom in the tutorial which was for an amoled screen but i 've got an slcd screen (i'm thick).
The upshot is my htc desire will only start up sometimes and when it does just goes to a loading screen with a bright colourful x then switches off. holding volume down and power or back and power doesn't bring up the boot menu or fast boot. i've tried to flash from one of the ruu.exe files but it just keeps saying my phone has less than 30% charge (it doesn't) and quits the ruu. Is there any way to recover my phone via another method? I've got the coldcard used to root the phone.
Many thanks
Detailed description
i've basically followed the guide to root here at droiden
and installed the rom here de frost rom it suggests.
rooted fine then i flashed the rom (the de_frost one suggested in the tutorial) - got stuck on a colourful X screen and now won't turn on. it'll only turn on if i connect to a pc and open unrevoked but then it just boots to the colourful x screen until it goes off and then i'm back to the begining.
going off that other thread it sounds like i've used the amoled rom when i've not got an amoled screen.
to make matters worse i've followed these two steps here in other threads on here which suggested a new ota or ruu. ota wais a broken link and with ruu.exe i get an error saying my battery is below 30% (it's not) and so it won't go any further.
are there any other options available to me to restore my phone bearing in mind that volume down and power doesn't bring up the boot screen (just white htc screen then colourful X screen) so i can't even do a hard reset that way. Not bothered about wiping the phone's memory just want to get it back so i can start from scratch with the right rom. i have the gold card used to root the phone.
any help appreciated - thanks.

Needs to be a gold card if your phone is network branded
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
ok i did it and it worked first time - it let me get to the boot screen but then after it rebooted it just won't switch on at all now.
any ideas?
Did you let it run till the phone booted?
Take the batt out for a min and pop back in and try. And also make sure you got a good charge
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
yeah it said it was rebooting but then never came back on. i'll give it a good charge and try again.
right it will now turn on everytime but won't go to the boot screen. Volume down power and back power just start it up and it sticks on the loading screen with the x for hours.
What radio have you got installed ? What network and version Rom did you have before ?

i'm not too sure. i bought the desire from ebay. it's an orange branded htc about 2/3 months old. i followed the root guide here (can't post full links as i'm a new member- just stick a www dot infront of)
droid-den.com/phone-guides/phone-guide-how-to-root-the-htc-desire-hboot-0-80
and install the radio & rom here
droid-den.com/phone-guides/phone-guide-how-to-install-rooted-android-2-2-on-your-htc-desire
if it would just go to the boot menu i'd even wipe the thing and start again!
What do you see on the boot screen if any can you get in hboot ?

ok for some reason after 24 hours of trying it will now let me go into the boot screen
for some reason i left the room and came back and it's working.
i've no idea what has happened.
it's completely debranded and rooted with a basic rom.
can someone advise me of a good stable rom which will work with a slcd screen?
many thanks
Best Rom I find is MIUI takes a bit to get used to but you will love it if you miss the clock just download fancy widget .. for the HTC clock and weather. just Google it and get the.apk

hmmm. can't download anything from the android marketplace. just says download unsuccessful.
for any who has the same problem - think it was a schoolboy error. when it sticks on the x screen the options must be in the background. press volume down then press power and it boots.
Hello there, i have a htc desire... a few hours ago i`ve tried rooting it. a few seconds after flashing started, everything stopped, the screen went black, and no response what so ever since. when i plug in usb cable, the led indicating charging doesn't turn on. when i press the power button 1 single vibrate then nothing, the screen remains black. the pc does recognize it. when i type adb devices in cmd i get :
List of devices attached
HT07TPL02170 recovery
any ideas?
How long did you leave it before pulling the plug when rooting?
It should have been left for a good 5 minutes before getting worried....
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
uh... whell about 2 minutes. didn't know that i've had to let it 5 minutes, doesn't say in the tutorial...
Ok, well id suggest running the root process again until it says its successful on your pc.
No guarantees this will work tho....

i think the update.zip is not suitable for my version of htc, maybe that's why it didn't work. can u help me with a stock froyo 2.2 rom? and maybe a quick tutorial on how to flash it?
What is your current rom and is it branded.
Do you have the rom details, numbers etc..
The more info. The better.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
i don't think it's branded... my current rom, i have no idea i'm new to android.
32.43.00.32U --- does this help?
The easiest thing to do would be to run the 2.29.405.5 RUU or flash it as PB99IMG from your sdcard.
Do a search in this forum as it has been detailed a number of times.

how can flash from sd card... since my screen is black at all times. can't navigate trough quickboot on phone. tried RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.4_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_122704.exe
but i get error 170, connection problem.
my current image version is 2.09.405.8, just managed to get the rom update utility running.
i'm downloading right now the 2.29.405.5 RUU ... hope it works.
Good stuff.
The rom I mentioned is a newer version but as long as you get a working phone, that's the main thing.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
okay... i've flashed with RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe
worked. everything is ok now. but... how do I root the damn thing ?
Nice one.
To root, you need to use unrevoked3.
Just follow the instructions on their website, don't miss anything and don't pull the pkug too early.
I'm assuming you used unrevoked earlier?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
i used r6-desire-root.zip
but first made an goldcard... on a 2gb sd.
I've never heard of that.
Have a look at unrevoked, it is what the majority, if not all, use on here.
Just a heads up before you continue, make sure you install htc sync and then uninstall it before continuing. This leave a couple of drivers installed that the process uses.
Then follow the instructions to the letter!
Try not to pull the plug prematurely.....
Good luck
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
unrevoked gets stuck on "waiting for bootloader" altough the bootloader is on screen...
Have you enabled usb debugging?
Have you turned off any antivirus, firewalls on your pc?
Does it say 'fastboot usb' on your phone?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
ok.. let's take it step by step.
I've uninstalled HTC Sync, but left the htc usb driver installed.
i've started unrevoked, it rebooted the desire, then hangs at waiting for bootloader
On the phone i have the white screen with the following options
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
CLEAR STORAGE
SIMLOCK
and a few info's on the device.
Have you installed the hboot drivers from unrevoked? There is a download link for them on their site.

hey everyone,
i recently tried to do a factory restore on my Desire using a Telus RUU from shipped-roms, however, it did not complete the update (because I forgot about needing a Gold Card)
However, now my phone just goes to a screen with the HTC logo in the middle and and exclamation triangle in each corner. No matter how I try and turn my phone on (Volume Down + Power / Back + Power / Menu + Power) they all come to the same screen with the HTC logo and exclamation triangles. Is there something I can do to recover my phone back to the OS (ANY OS will do)?
thankyou in advance for any help.
Yes all is not lost you need to connect the phone to a computer, pc or laptop and get the adb drivers and the adb software from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696189
This will allow you to get past the triangle thing and into recovery to flash a rom. Have a read of the link I have you about the adb and the thing your looking for I think is something like adb recovery_windows.bat that you will download as part of the adb stuff.
I have had it a few times and managed to fix with adb for windows
Look at the how to flash a rom section it tells you about the triangle thing you have at the moment
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
hi Dazzlet
i've got the adb software on my computer, just waiting for the java thing to download so I can install it. Looking through the link you gave me, I am not finding any information about where to go from here? I checked out the sections you said I should, but I can't find anything regarding the triangles thing I am getting. Any more help would be appreciated...
Sorry for being a pest.
In the link there is a section with a green heading that says how to flash a rom that is the steps you need to take to fix the problem
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Sorry if I'm being naive, all I am finding is information on how to do this from the phone. Am I just missing something on how to install a ROM from my pc without being able to interact with my Desire? Thank-you again.
Alright managed to figure it out. Was a gold card creation issue. My Desire HD memory card is MMC2, which isn't supported in the gold card tool app. After that I got a RUU to load onto my phone.

thast wierd you needed a gold card 4 your telus desire but i didnt 4 mine
And even with the gold card I was unable to use the TELUS RUU. Had to use a generic one. Would have been nice to have gotten the TELUS one on.

Did you use this one?
http://www.multiupload.com/T5H6PHUL33
EddyOS,
yes that is the RUU that I tried using, downloaded it a second time in case the first one had messed up during downloading, neither worked.
I have a htc desire.. was using ICS rom on it.. decided to go back to stock rom.. downloaded stock RUU for India from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667
now stuck at black screen with HTC logo in middle and /!\ on all four corners... followed the following steps
I
nstalled HTC sync on PC (windows vista .. tried with windows XP too)
Tried to flash RUU by double clicking on it..
After some time the phone vibrated a few times when the flashing was going on and then there was an error 110 - Bad RUU or something
Downloaded the RUU again in case the earlier one got corrupted... same error..
searched on xda a lot, tried android flasher to flash stock bravo bootloader.. it was stuck at flashing.. used command prompt to flash bootloader in fast boot.. it showed success but a time period of just 0.217 sec
Tried RUU again, didn't work, same error
tried bravo_downgrade hboot and then RUU, same error
tried bravo_downgrade hboot along with stock bravo hboot and then RUU, same error
thought of going back to custom rom so that atleast I can use the device but no recovery is present.. tried flashing recovery using command prompt .. it showed success but doesn't load. all button combos take to the screen mentioned above.
Tried going through other threads.. same thing is mentioned.. its a factory unlocked phone, unbranded and all..
Any help?
Was able to flash recovery in fastboot and reboot in recovery.. flashed custom rom .. success.. but when rebooted it gets stuck at the same htc logo with /!\ at the corners
It seems that downgrading the hboot is not at all possible... tried flashing the official GB RUU downloaded from HTC developers site.. the phone came alive !!
Hey there, I also have the same problem with a htc desire. I got the phone from a guy, so i don't know how exactly he got into this state. He said that he tried to update something on the telephone when the power went of. And since then the phone is stuck with this Htc logo and the "!" in all 4 corners. I am very new into smartphones so i don' really know what u did when u said that you flashed the official GB RUU. Could you guide me trough this process so i can try it, and see if it works for me too please ? Thank you !
