i'm looking for it...
I didn't know there was any offline map from google. As far as I know, all you can do is calculating the route and saving the map parts needed for your trip.
I use mapdroyd for offline maps. Have not found a suitable solution for google maps yet. Mapdroyd works just fine, you should give it a try...

i have been wondering about which software is better for Nav. and real GPS locations. ROute 66 (which by the site, they say Dash is not compadible) or CoPilot? is it worth buying the receiver they offer, or any others in particular? thanks!
The 2 free apps, Google mobile and Windows Live Search, both work well. Google is bit harder to make work because you need to mess with the registry to make the port available. But either one does a good job. WHat you wont get with these freebies is turn by turn spoken directions.
I use Live Search on my Dash with a Globalsat BT GPS receiver. Works great.

Hi Guys,
I am using Artemis and looking for a GPS program that can be used with Google maps.
So that I can download maps from Google earth and load in to the program, some thing like that.
Thanks,
google maps for ppc works fine! streaming the maps through gprs now (infinite gprs abbo). But could always prestream through usb conn?

Hi, I'm looking for a google maps style program which I can actually download a map pack for to use to navigate to places... I don't have gps and I don't want to use the internet, I just want to do a search for a street address.
I live in Australia and was wondering if anyone knew a good program which would suite me?
Thanks heaps
You could always install tomtom with aussie maps as you can browse the maps even if there is no gps signal...
Any reason why you don't wanna use the net? I find its one of the main features of the phone...
well, I do use the net on the phone for some things... but I really just want to store the maps so I don't have to download each time like with google maps.
How do I go about getting tomtom? I think I did actually have tomtom on the phone when I first got it, but it wouldn't start without a gps plugged in.
The maps cost money don't they?
Is there a free alternative at all?
I have the Garmin 10x bluetooth GPS reciever that came with maps, and even does voice tun by turn. I use it when driving. It was 120.00USD, but I believe that you can get oz maps too.

Cheers mate... You could always buy a keyfob sized gps for $60-100 to get that fully functional...
What is the best gps mapping software to use offline ?
The google maps is great when at home, but I don't want the expensive roaming data charges when abroad. I need the maps to be already on my phone.
Thanks for any help.

Google Navigator - not associated with Google - download and use Google maps offline
Thanks very much - that looks great.
Hello all,
I just purchased the Xtrons TM100L and will be installing it today. I originally was going to use Googe Maps or Waze tethering my phone. However I would like to be able to use one of the apps that just uses the GPS signal along with offline maps in case I'm in an area that does not have good data reception for my phone. I'm looking for suggestions on where to download the maps and what app will work well with those offline maps.
