Thanks to GAda for the link.
It is the official flash player for froyo 2.2 available from the market (although the market doesn't let us download it, I persume it was downloaded on a phone running 2.2 that the market did like).
Works a treat on JP2 (tap and hold to enable full screen flash) much better than the ported flash player that was posted some weeks ago

There is no 'stock' Froyo for the Galaxy S, so which rom are you running out of the leaked Froyo ones (JP1, 2 or 3)?

-i have jp3 instaled today and i can't install some games like raging thunder 2 and when i try to open the game like assasin creed,asphalt5 say the need sd card with a least 0mb ,on 2.1 i don't have any problem...
-ps this flsh is awesome like on my pc:live tv,video etc cooooolll, die iPhone(i have 2 years).
Are the JP1/2/3 roms actually stable? I'm not sure whether to flash it or not. Can anyone outline any of the issues with it!
My xp
I have used the JP3 since it came out, and it is mostly stable for me. Wifi and HDSPA/GPRS works fine, Internet application crashes sometimes, usually on first start, then it works fine. Contacts application works, but sometimes the letters on the right to make you quickstep to a certain letter disappears. If you navigate in and out a few times, they usually come back though.
Other than that, it feels pretty snappy.
I cannot get flash player to work unfortunately, but it seems that a lot of people without root have that problem, can anyone actually confirm that?
/J
-the adobe flash player work perfect on my fp3 without root ,but i change the room and now i have jm2 because the 2.2 froyo have lag, bugs, etc
Is there anything you need to enable to make flash work, because it does not work for me. I have tried several apks, playerversion.com says I have 10,1,72,7 installed though, but no flash content seem to work.
/J
only instal flash with appsinstaller and reboot ,in browser option dezactivate mobile view and thats it.
so you cant use this with the stock rom?

Are you supposed to find that in Settings in the browser?

I was wondering who the hell bumped this thread.
Just give it a try. Won't hurt. You can always uninstall it later on.
I spent five minutes literally trying to figure out what was so special about a flash player leak that came from Froyo 2.2, before I noticed the date on the first post!
Seriously, why bump this???
I am running Fresh Evo 3.1.0.1 with the latest netarchy-toastmod kernel and the Riptide theme. I decided to reinstall the Sprint Football app from the Fresh Removed folder and it installed fine. The problem is is goes from the loading screen back to the desktop. Anyone have this working?

You maybe having an issue because Sprint has updated the app. It has a whole new look and they have added college football. I tried searching for an .apk but came up short. I am running version 2.2.32. Also I installed DC 3.5 and as soon as I opened the app it asked me to upgrade.
Try going here and it should send your phone a link via text you will see an EVO on the Top

When I do that, it tells me it isn't available for my device. I guess it won't work with cyanogenmod?!
I found an .apk to install it but it says it can't connect, try again or quit. I would really like to have that app back.

Is it giving an error message? Can you get the .apk installed? Are you stock or running a custom rom?
Works great for me running CM6 RC1.
Just to confirm: Is this app free with an unlimited data plan like Sprint TV?
Just to throw this out therethough..if you haven't heard..sprint didn't get the contract with the league this year. Verizon has it now. So imo sprint nfl is nearly worthless now.
This isn't the Sprint NFL app. It is the Sprint Football app that replaced the NFL one when they lost the contract.

I have it working on cyanogen rc1. Try uninstalling it and install the .apk that chazglenn attached from this thread.
As you might have guessed from the title of this thread, I can't get Flash to work in the browser.
I'm running CM6, latest version. RC 3, build FRF91. Baseband is updated to 2.15. Everything works as it should as far as I can tell.
I've installed Flash from the market, uninstalled it, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted, uninstalled then reinstalled, rebooted, and various other combinations of the above. I fixed permissions with ROM Manager as well.
Whenever I hit a Flash site in the browser I just get the stupid lego-block looking thing with the question mark on it that's indicative of a missing plugin.
Is there something I've missed or that I'm obviously doing wrong? I haven't had my DINC very long and I'm still learning the ins and outs of the Android OS.
I tried searching these forums and saw something about a cooked version of the Flash .apk that allowed Hulu to work. Is there a version for the Incredible that works?
--B
I'm in the same boat and looking for the same answer. I'm going to follow this thread and hope some one comes along with some guidance.
I know that there's a version that works that comes from the SkyRaider ROM. I believe it's a beta version though.

Hiya,
due to my brother not having the luck of having Froyo on his phone I took a look at it and hacked the newst YouTube app to work with Eclair. I had to remove two calls and add android.util.base64 which was introduced with Froyo. However, it should work flawlessly. If you encounter any problems, feel free to post here along with a little description and if possible a logcat dump of the exception.

You have to remove the default YouTube app before you can install this one over.
Using ADB Shell this should just work:
adb remount
adb shell rm system/app/YouTube.apk
adb uninstall com.google.android.youtube
then you can just install it over using the package manager or with adb (adb install YouTube_signed.apk).
Hope this helps, enjoy the re-designed Youtube app!
Tested. Work well on Floyo 1.01. Great work.
Just tested it, and it works on eclair.
btw, is it possible to port the froyo gmail app to eclair?
EDIT: after further testing, it force closes. the process used to get to a force close was i logged in to my youtube account, exited the app, opened skyfire (it forced closed, perhaps of youtube. however i am not sure), reopened the youtube app but it forced close. i reverted back to the older youtube (stock) and repeated the process above, and no force closes in skyfire or youtube

Why not,it`s a Froyo 2.2 ROM so you can use the original too
http://www.appbrain.com/app/youtube/com.google.android.youtube
thanks alot it works in 2.1 in spica ..
How did you decompile the original apk? If i may ask...
It worked for me at the first start, but then it gives me force closes every time I try to start it. I restarted my phone, tried to reinstall the app, but nothing helped. Anybody has the same problem?
I can only use the app again if I go to Settings/Applications and delete cache and data from YouTube. Is there any way to avoid deleting these all the time? FC mainly occurs after I login to my account. Thanks
Updated it

Changed a API call that would require Froyo. Should work better now.
Works great. Cheers!

Thank you rolle3k for your work. I just tried the fixed version, but it still gives force closes when I am logged onto my account. The problem might be around logging in to an account, because when I'm not logged on, it works.

this app is awesome!!!!! .. smoother than ever!! ... thanks mate...
Not sure if this is just me but it doesn't open now, I just get an instant FC no matter how or where I open the app from. Any ideas?
Yep, it seems logging into your account breaks it.
Installed it on HTC Gratia Froyo port, works great
I just got into the setting, applications, manage applications, found it and uninstalled it, then installed the new one, and it works great...

hello all,
i removed youtube and tried to install this but it gives error as "application not installed". by the way i'm using cronos froyo 1.4.2. any idea?
Hi, I have a problem with that app.
Yesterday I've installed it and worked fine until evening.
Now I got an error everytime I try to open it... I try to restart the device (many times), but nothing's happened.
My Hero got "Tegro 2.1 (Slide Espresso port) [ROM]", any suggestion?
Edit:
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the apk: now it works! I don't know why but it works!
It FCes if i try to start application again after logging in...;/

Hello rolle3k! Have you found anything that is causing the Force Close? It is definitely doing this when logged in.
Since then I am using YouTube without logging in and it works great so far. However, it would be great to have the ability to log in without deleting data/cache every time I want to use YouTube.
Could you help us? With that option this app would be awesome. Thanks
I updated to the new netflix today and I am getting this error when attempting playback of any show. Anyone experience this?
Same here. Tried both my Samsung Galaxy S (T-Mobile Vibrant) with Android 2.2 (Bionix-v 1.3.1) and my wife's Vibrant (stock 2.2).
The error that appears when attempting to start a program is:
We are unable to start playback. Please try to restart it (13007)
After this, it appears to hang and then crash. Help!
It works fine on my samsung captivate.
still no solution.
I tried it with one item, got the same error 13007, and restored the previous version from backup. I am afraid that eventually they may turn off the old version and force an upgrade, but for now it works.

It wouldn't be legal to post without permission from Netflix.
I did see on ArchosFans, that after two reboots, the new version starts to work.
Didn't seem to do the trick

Yes 2 reboots on my Archos 101 and is working, thanks a lot
Two reboots on my Archos 70 seems to do nothing -- worse when I uninstalled it, and installed the 1.4xx version from Titanium Backup, the old version insists I upgrade!

I know: I hate that they force "upgrades" like that.
However, the new version seems to work now.
Has anyone found a fix for this? The two reboots thing did not work on my 101.
Any ideas on this guys? a buddy of mine is having this issue with his Vibrant.... thoughts?
Not working on my Archos Internet 70
The last version forced me to upgrade now all I get is 13007 errors. Anyone know what that means? I tried uninstalling, resinstalling, killing all running apps, uninstalling other apps. nothing works.
Has anyone got this working, I'm really pissed I can't get it going.
OK, guys. I found a work around for Netflix app. I got it working on two different 101s. Hopefully this wasn't posted already. If it was disregard this.
First you need to have Arctools installed to get the android market. If you don't already have it on your device, here is a step by step video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWyjeMXQMOU
Make sure you follow step by step. I didn't do the format the first time, and it wouldn't install the market right.
Once you have the market on there, you need to download the old version of netflix (1.4.1). APK is in post. Download and install the app. When you first launch the app it will tell you you need to upgrade, click the OK box. The next box that shows up will be the "Complete action using" box. It should show you the two options "Market" or "search". When the box comes up, press the back arrow. This should take you to the Netflix home page, and there you go, you can stream! The reason you need the Android market is because without it the "You must upgrade" won't give you an option on how to upgrade. (see attached pics)
A couple of side notes.
1) If the "Complete actions using" box doesn't come, you need to clear the market as the default app. To do this go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications>Find the Market in the list and click "Clear Default". That should force the box to pop up.
2) The issue I had on mine was once I start streaming something the back button freezes the video. The only way out is the home button or wait till force close pops up. The one I did for my friend didn't do that. When the back arrow was pushed on that one the "need to upgrade box" pops up. If it does, follow the same steps from above. (Press OK, then when the select option box pops up just click the back arrow). I know the Force close is an inconvience, but hey, at least you have streaming video.
I don't know how long this will work, or if they plan on patching so you can't do this (or fix their stupid app). Hopefully this helps the people that couldn't get the app working with the multi-reboot method.
If it works for you, please make sure you hit the thanks button.
As of today 12/15/11, Netflix released an update for their app, and it fixed (at least for me) the 13007 error. So upgrade to the newest version and test it out!
