Is there any software that can add gestures to the Desire HD?
e.g. swipe down with 3 fingers to return to the home screen?
Search on market for gesture, there are a few free ones. Wave launcher looked good at 61p, haven't used them myself though.

Just to let others know, Gesture Control on the play store works with the nexus 7!
This gives you iPad style multi touch gesture control of your nexus and let's you hide the home/back/status bar giving you real full screen apps!
for those of us that arent ipad users, how exactly does one perform such a feat?

You can customise the gestures but for example the defaults are :
4 pinger pinch to close the app/go back to launcher. 4 finger spread out to load a quick launcher with app shortcuts.
3 fingers to the right to task switch to previously loaded app. 3 fingers swipe up to hide status bar/buttons
3 fingers swipe down to go 'back' e.g previous web page etc.
All can be customised or even make a gesture load a specific app
If you guys want true and easy edge Swype gestures try out Aaron’s linaro rom with edge swipe and tablet mode.
Just loving it

Am I looking at the right one in the play store? $5 and requires root?
I also recommend gmd Gesture control for those who don't have it, in particular the paid version which allows you to hide bar by the swipe of the screen.
Needs root.
Have any of you done this to actually hide the Back/Home/Recents bar?
I cannot find the option to hide it without hiding disabling status bar as well.
Thanks
Hello!
I wonder if there is a way to add a gesture on Sense 4.X so I can shutdown the screen in simple finger slide?
Back in N1 times,I used to use swipe down gesture(ADW launcher) linked to ''screen off''' app so the screen turned off with style!
Now with Sense launcher can I do the same?
I found an app for gestures but it doesn't accept simple gesture like swipe down/up

Hey,
The ViperX rom has a gesture option in the suite tools. You can set three-finger gestures for sliding up, down left and right.

true but you will need a screen-off app or script to be triggered by the gesture
Edit: tryed it out with "screen off and lock" app from market and works pretty well.
After configuring the app and Venom tweaks app : 3-finger swipe-up remapped to custom app (screen off), at any screen/app swipe up 3 finger and the phone will turn the screen off with a cool animation (i chose slide up to match gesture), then phone locks immediately (i dont prefer this)
Yeah I saw this but it's really weird to use the 3 fingers, I feel like a cat
I hope they will find a solution for one finger only
Edit: Sry never mind..Sense.. mist that part
Why would you want it with one finger? Then when youre reading something and your scrolling up or down your screen will go off..

Not for any games or apps but only for homescreens
There's a great app that you can define whatever gesture you like
and asign it to close the screen or even kill the using app

Can't Spare Two Fingers? Use This Secret Trick for Smooth Zooming in Google Maps with One Finger
Well, yesterday I saw this article which spoke of a new secret gesture that lets you zoom in and out smoothly on Google Maps without having to resort to the two-fingered pinch-to-zoom feature.
Apparently, there really is a (not-so-much-anymore) secret gesture forzooming in and out of Google Maps with just a single finger, and it works on both iOS and Android devices.
You all probably already know that if you just double-tap the map with one finger, you'll zoom in incrementally with each double-tap until you can't anymore. To zoom out, you'd double-tap with two fingers. But if you want the smooth scrolling capabilities without pinching, this is how you do it.
To zoom in, all you have to do is double-tap a location, but make sure to hold the second tap. Then just drag your finger up.
To zoom out, you can do the same thing, except you slide your finger down instead.
So old
Google create this for devices that dosen't support multitouch a year ago anw thanks for sharing

I wasn't aware :s Cool! Thanks.
Seems with the stick LG launcher you can lock the phone by double tapping the screen which is very nice. Downside is you cannot put widgets on the bottom row where I usually put my sms and phone icons at. I've always used Nova Launcher but now with Nova Launcher the tap to lock does not work which means you have to lock the screen by the button on the back which is a majour pain since I always hit the volume buttons by accident. Anyone have any suggestions on this? I'm open to other launchers and also haven't rooted yet but plan to over the next couple of weeks. Thanks a bunch.
Double tap the status (notifications) bar
Install program screen off and assign double tap shortcut to it.

With LG Stock Launcher you can double tap anywhere to lock the device. When using nova just double tap the notification and it will lock.
That would work on screen that is showing.
As someone above said, install this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock
Then in Nova Launcher go to settings and select the gesture for Double Tap to launch the Screen Off app.
Also, gestures are only supported in the paid version of Nova Launcher as far as i know.
Thanks a bunch guys. This solved the problem.
Can you double-tap for screen on as well? I'm loving this feature on stock.
G3 Tweaks also lets you turn off the screen by double tapping the navigation bar (or at least the blank portions of it). It makes for a bigger target than the notification bar.
Hi,
I come from Huawei P10 and just got a S20. I am not a fan of the Samsung One UI, particularly the horizontal page by page scrolling in the app drawer.
However, switching to Nova means that the swipe gestures won't work as expected (at least there are some known issues with Android 10 and 11, e.g. redraw home screen)
Any idea if I somehow can get horizontal scrolling in the app drawer and swipe gestures?
Markus
I just installed Nova launcher and it works well with One Hand Operation +
