Title says it all. I have seen a bunch of them, but haven't really found any good reviews of them all... e.g. a comparison. What do you all use?
Personally, I find the built in HTC ones to be the best I've used. Beautiful Widgets has some but I think they're not quite as good as HTC's.
I agree with frankspin; I have tried beautiful widgets but I find I prefer HTC's also.

I like HTCs also, but Sense is pretty slow and I prefer LauncherPro, which means no Sense widgets.

A year ago I would have agreed but I think you need to give it another go this time around. It's much improved from 1.5.

hey guys im a noob here but i have searched all over..
im looking for a nexus one froyo rom for the evo...
i want evenything to stay the way it is i just want the launcher like the nexus one and the main menu to look like the nexus one froyo.
i know launcher pro has it but i cant add htc widgets to it..
any advice would be appreciated.
CM6 (cyanogen)
o you can't have the htc widgets without sense so if thats what you're really looking for you're stuck using sense. thats the only launcher that allows those widgets

Just out of curiosity, which sense widgets can't you live without?
The thing with cyanogen is that it uses ADW launcher.. some fav it. some dislike it.. i personally dislike it, ill rather have basic 2.2 launcher like the nexus one.

It's not about the rom, it's about wanting a home application that isn't Sense to be able to use Sense's widgets. The standard Nexus One launcher is included in even the stock rom, but you won't be able to load Sense's widgets onto it.
I have one recommendation, check out LauncherPro Plus. It comes with some of its own awesome widgets. They are honestly as good as Sense's calendar, people, bookmarks, and messages widgets. In fact, they look almost too much like a direct copy. You can scroll inside of them and even resize them. If those are the ones you want to keep, LauncherPro is what you want. In every other way, it is much like the stock launcher on Nexus One.
You will lose Friend Stream, but there are other widgets that can approximate that.
I reread your post. You asked for a Nexus One main screen and launcher. By main screen, do you mean the lockscreen? The one you have to drag your finger on to unlock your phone? If not, the home screen and list of programs are both handled by the launcher.
Here is what I would recommend:
Rom:
Cyanogen Mod 6 - It will make all of the menus and applications feel just like what you get on Nexus One.
Apps:
Fancy Widget - It looks and feels exactly like the HTC weather & clock widget that is the default on the main screen.
LauncherPro Plus - CM6 comes with ADW Launcher, which is pretty close to the vanilla Nexus One launcher, but LauncherPro Plus has its own widgets that look and function almost exactly like HTC's widgets.

I think you may want to clarify exactly what you want. As far as I understood the opening question, it was pretty well answered.
Currently CM6 is the only ROM that is not based on the HTC Sense stock ROM. It is instead based on the open source Android code, just like the Nexus One. There are a few tweaks that Cyanogen has added, like some extra settings, different boot screen, and some cosmetic tweaks. It also uses ADW launcher by default.
However you could just install the stock launcher on cyanogen mod, and other than the settings widget having blue highlights, you are pretty much at stock.
There is no way to use the HTC Sense widgets with anything besides the Sense launcher.
If all you care about is the launcher and lock screen, you can install just about any 2.2 rom, remove htclockscreen from /app/system, install the stock launcher, and you are done. In that case you would still have the HTC messaging, browser, calendar, etc.
So, I wouldn't mind giving an AOSP rom a try, but i really like a few sense widgets. Is there any way to put a few sense widgets onto a AOSP rom without adding sense completly?

Short: nope. However, there are alternatives. I use GO Weather for the Sense weather clock and GO SMS for the message widget

There are a bunch that are "like" the HTC widgets. which ones were you inquiring about?
The main widgets I like are the Favorites widget, and the Messaging widget. They're the reason why i've never liked using Launcher Pro or ADW.
Launcher Pro Plus has widgets exactly like those, except messaging won't group together your texts per person.

Okay onother one... Is there any overclockable/underclockable kernels for sense roms that are stable and have decent battery life?
There are Kernels capable of overclock/underclock, but these processors do not overclock much.
Chad's Incredikernel's is one of the more popular ones:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848453
This is personally what I've been using and I get excellent battery life and performance out of it. I suggest running it without setCPU, and if you feel like you need setCPU later then give it a try, but he does have one built in already so not really a need.
Where can I get the HTC flashlight apk?

I had asked a similar question before but didn't get a clear answer, is there any way to add sense based widgets into adw launchers framework or any file at that to apply them wile running it? I figured it was possible because the .apks run but when I try to add a widget they aren't listed. Any help is much appreciated.
warmZcomb™
I've never been able to do this myself and I've tried a few times....I believe it probably can't be done because sense widgets are baked in as part of sense launcher. It'd be like trying to use launcher pro widgets in got sense UI. They're two separate entities each with their own goodies. I know you can get sense like widgets off the market. But anyways my belief is you can't do this but if you discover otherwise please let me know

Yeah I'm sure someone can make it happen though. If I find anything ill be sure to let you know.

Nope, they're tied to Rosie, I'm sure.
Use Launcherpro and Beautiful Widgets. Together, they create a very very close imitiation of Rosie. Beautiful Widgets has the people widget and Calendar widget that look exactly like Sense.
And if you like the clock, use Fancy Widget. A whole combination of these on a different ROM will make you think you're using Sense

I asked myself this question and I searched for a year. I installed and uninstalled everything that moves on the market and we are left with two: 9s-weather and weather Palmary.
I feel like i have tried every weather widget and cant seem to find a nice one. they either drain the battery (i like the refresh on wake setting) or the graphics are blah. i'm looking for one with a crisp HD look, transparency settings, and the ability to customize a little so i am asking if a few of you wouldnt mind posting a screenshot of your widget and give a little info on it to see if maybe there is something out there i havent tried or tried but didnt realize the potential haha. Thanks!!

I use the transparent stock widget from the S4. Its nice especially if you use custom wallpapers or you just don't like tacky, bulky looking widgets on your home screen.
Beautiful Widgets and HD Widgets are both crisp. HD Widgets is higher end thus uses more cpu and system resources. Personally BW suits my liking, light on system usage, lots of cusomized themes, it has a nice lockscreen widget as well.
