Hi guys,
I searched around but didn't seem to find an answer so i was wondering does CM7 have a pattern lock screen (proper term ?) if not, can about recommend me an app that would enable it on cm7 ? Thanks. First post in the forums, Great site
Heck, I thought it came standard on Android devices. I'm not using CM7, but I am using Salvage-Mod. They are similar. In SalvageMod, to select a pattern lock, navigate to Menu-Settings-Location & security-Change screen lock. CM7 *should* have a similar menu.

Ok so I read in another forum that I could rename the HTC lock screen apk, not delete incase of problems glad I listened. Well it worked great I had the stock lock screen which is what I wanted. The problem came the next morning when my alarm went off. I was unable to turn it off. Does anyone have any suggestions because I like the stock lock screen but not being able to turn off the alarm is not an option.

You need to use the AOSP clock/alarm. If I wasn't on my evo, id attatch it for you.

What is that I have not heard of that yet, I am still new to this rooting stuff. I am also concerned because I am reading a lot of people having trouble restoring with Amon Ra. I installed amon ra thinking that it was better than clockwork but now I'm concerned that may have been the wrong thing.

You want to use that aosp clock app instead of the htc one. The htc alarm clock can only be used with the HTC lockscreen, as they are tied together somehow. Since you're using the aosp lockscreen now, you must also use the aosp clock/alarm app instead of the htc one. Otherwise you won't be able to shut your alarm off. Hope that helps clear it up a little bit.
Its the CM7 clock app the same thing as the aosp clock app. what does aosp stand for any way.

Yes, correct. CM7 is AOSP. AOSP= Android Open Source Project . (Not Sense based)

Glad you're all set. And yes, xda is a fantastic forum, that's for sure.
Quick question do I need to install that apk our just place it in a, if so which one? I also down loaded CM7 and I can not find any file name aosp_clock.apk. There is a DeskClock.apk that is comes in the CM7. Not that I don't trust "thebeast614" I do a lot of security work and am I a paranoid kinda person. No disrespect to thebeast614.

Ok after doing more reading and looking I have found that I should be able to take the DesktopClock.apk out of CM7 place it in the /system/apps location give it full permissions, "chmod 777" or with Root Explorer and then I can re-remove the HTCLockScreen.apk and HTCLockScreen.odex, just rename them in case I have to go back. Then after a reboot I would have the stock Android lock screen, which I have done before, but this time with the DesktopClock.apk I should be able to control the alarm better, ie turn it off. Now do I just place the DesktopClock.apk in the /system/apps or do I install it from say Root Explorer. My other question is currently in my stock Evo sense ui, under all apps there is a Desk Clock app, will that be replaced or will there be another app for the DesktopClock.apk that I installed.

Ok so this is what I ended up with and yes it worked thanks to the help of the people on this forum.
1st Have Root
2nd Root Explorer (I guess you could use adb but I find it sometimes easier to use root explorer for soemthing.)
3rd Rename HTCLockScreen.apk to HTCLockScreen.apk_bak and HTCLockScreen.odex to HTCLockScreen.odex_bak. I reason I renamed and not deleted is so I could easily go back if I want to. Deleting will work as well but may sure you have a back first.
4th I installed the DesktopClock.apk from CM6 the latest stable version. Just downloaded the zip file opened it took the DesktopClock.apk out and installed it from the sd card.
5th Restarted the phone and enjoyed the Android lock screen. You have to leave the HTC Clock on the phone or the phone will freak out. make sure to turn off all the HTC alarms off and re-enter the alarms in the new Android clock.
Guys,
I flashed Cow Rom on to my phone. everything was working fine except for that screen tear issue. I couldnt enable V-sync, and there was support on what to do, only thing i could find was to edit the buildprop, but that didnt solve anything.
so i flashed another rom, blacknotes, and the problem is still there. i then did a factory wipe, formay system, format cache, and flashed a stock firmware to the phone, and the problem is still there. hwo can this be? how do i stop the screen tearing? it only appears when im in the application or menu or settings screen, normally black background. when im at the launcher screens there isnt any screen tearing
Nobody??? Wow the level of support on this side is ....,.......

this is no support hotline!
you can kindly ask, but when nobody answers, please don't be unpolite.
this is a forum!
Im not trying to be rude. Im just suprise that nobody has any suggestions at all on what i can possibly do. Ive asked in the several places and so far one guy is helping. But he suggested what i have already read in the forum from searches i have done.
There are developers here...quite a giod number...but no help. In the other groups with less users and developers. people at least try.
Im just speechless.im not making any personal attacks on anyone. So just take a chill pill

Don't understand why those methods didn't work...
Hi all,
I recently tried CM10.1 from Free Xperia, but kept running into an increasing number of problems - MMS not sending, long texts not sending, multiple recipient texts not sending, slowdowns, Wifi connectivity issues just to name some of them. I wonder if it was kernel related.
Anyway, I'm now back on CM10 and things are running quite lovely. The only thing I've noticed in differences between the two, and indeed miss, is the Quick Unlock feature - where you have a PIN lock on your screen, and if you get it right, then you don't have to press OK. It'll just unlock for you. Does anyone know if it's possible to replace a module (or whatever you call it, apologies if I've got it wrong) to enable this on CM10?
Thanks in advance and have a good night,
schnidex

Moved, or was in the right place all along?
im on racing bean and quick unlock feature is in:
settings
lock screen
screensecurity
quick unlock
Not sure if its the same on all cm10
Can anyone help me out with this problem.
When someone is calling me and the lock screen comes up i get terrible lag when trying to unlock the phone in order to answer it.
The unlock to answer is the only thing that lags,
I have tried to turn off the unlock but that doesn't help.
I have researched the forums and have seen that its impossible to disable the lock screen prior to answering a call.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated,
Thanks
Mark

Are you running too many apps in the backgorund? maybe is time for a factory reset or even a reflash.
Try clearing your ram.. If you have cleared it and your free ram is low you have too many apps running in the background.

the main question is which rom do u use??
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda app-developers app
I noticed that problem usually with Cm9 and Cm10 roms.
I think it should be definetly a low-mem issue.
Hey developers!
Why not a mod that forces the answer-the-call in memory
Iike the option that some launchers have to prevent lag?
you can't do anything with that. cm9-10 roms always.will have callscreen lag becasue they aren't designed to use them.with devices without gpu. just install cm7 or other gb rom. you don't lose so much because things from ics and.jb like hardware acceleration never will work on willy. best way for you will be gb roms with jb look give a try and you won't regret.it (;

Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum so I'm sorry if this question has been asked. I didn't some searching and wasn't able to find much. I flashed the PACman ROM today for the Verizon HTC One. I've been messing around in the settings and was curious if there was a swipe to wake feature that I'm not finding (like the one on Paranoid Android in the advanced settings)?
Thanks for the help!
After getting more time with it, I dont believe there's an option for this.
