Bluetooth Mouse - Xoom Accessories

Is there any way to distinguish between a "Bluetooth mouse" that uses a USB dongle and a Bluetooth mouse that will connect directly to the Xoom? I have 2 wireless Bluetooth Logitech mice, but neither will pair with my Xoom.
I've seen some lists of Bluetooth mice for other tablets, but nobody really clarifies if they are connecting via a dongle or not.
Any insight is appreciated.

Bluetooth is a standard; the dongle that comes with a bluetooth mouse is a courtesy if your laptop doesn't have bluetooth integrated (and not necessary if it doesn't). There are wireless mice that come with proprietary wireless dongles, but that's not the same as bluetooth. You can tell if it's really bluetooth because it will have the bluetooth logo on it (it's an oval with a stylized "B" in it. Google it). (There is more than one bluetooth standard, mostly those are for different audio connections, but for a bluetooth mouse produced in the last few years these make no difference).
Edit: Also, I'm assuming you're using 3.1, which enables bluetooth mice. If you are (like me) waiting for the 3.1 update, bluetooth mice will find the tablet but you can't use them...

Connecting Bluetooth Headphones to Computer

I just got the Motorola HT820 bluetooth stereo headphones and I cannot get them connected to my computer properly. I plugged in my Actiontec bluetooth dongle and it installed on my pc. Then I paired my HT820 with the computer. It shows as paired, but it doesn't have any services.
Anybody got any advice?
i had some bluetake bluetooth headphones never could get them to work prob with vidcomm or ms bluetooth stacks well they worked as headset but not as stereo good quality headset when i picked that profile they just dident play
did get them to work with the toshiba bluetooth stack but not great
and then the trail ran out
maybe it's the fault of the headset or maybe the bluetooth stacks never confirmed it
Is there any place to get generic bluetooth drivers with A2DP? Or does the bluetooth dongle have to be setup for that already?
i tested with a logitech bluetooth dongle and a belkin dongle
and both worked with ms, vidcomm and toshiba bluetooth software on the pc
but as i mentioned not all profiles worked or worked well

[Q] Did anybody use the bluetooth on a100 successfully?

I have a bluetooth mouse and have connected with my Iconia tab a100 already, but it doesn't work. There is no cursor on the screen. Also, there's no use moving the mouse.
I have tried the same mouse on another android cellphone and it worked.
How can I make it work on a100?
And have anyone tried it?
I have succeeded connecting a Logitech Dinovo keyboard /mousepad to my A100.
You have to pair the tablet to the mouse, then enter a code to connect them together.
I was able to pair my folding bluetooth keyboard (stowaway) w/ it. My problem is i use my tablets on my dashboard as my music source (also navigation, etc.) and it doesn't seem to find the bluetooth audio in my car - won't even show up in pairing mode.
If i can't get this to work, I'm definitely taking it back and getting a 7" Toshiba Thrive or the Galaxy Tab Plus when they come out.
My car tells me that my A100 has connected successfully...
I use a Sync system in a 2011 Ford Focus and use it for navigation and music and it pairs and works perfectly.
I used a bluetooth keyboard successfully but can't use the mouse, did anyone use the bluetooth mouse on a100 successfully?
Yes I do use a Logitech 470 that I have paired through Astro bluetooth from the Market and then the regular device's bluetooth program.

My tab connects fine to my Bluetooth keyboard for the HP touchpad.
Yes.. I was able to pair with my LG Esteem and send files via bluetooth...
tether?
Has anyone found a solution (3rd party spftwate or otherwise) that works for Bluetooth tethering to an iPhone? 3GS OS5 jailbroken and soon to be rooted iconia a100.
I use NC tether from the market to tether with my iPhone 4.

After seeing rEVOLVE's post, I remembered an old Stowaway Think Outside folding Bluetooth keyboard. It connected and seems to work fine with the A100, although I can't figure out how to use it for any special commands, such as Home, End, or such functions as going directly to the Calendar, Contacts, etc. Any help there would be appreciated.
It will not connect to my car stereo (Kenwood KDC-695).
With my phone (T-Mobile G2x), it will pair but do nothing else. (The phone reports, "paired but not connected" and won't connect.)
Other than the keyboard, I haven't found any other use for the Bluetooth on this device. I'm wondering if rooting it or some other program would help.
I have used it to connect to bluetooth speakers, headset, car, and tethering. I do not have a bluetooth keyboard to test.

Connecting bluetooth mouse

Hi and happy new year to all,
I've got a logitech bt mouse (the one that come with the keyboard - MX5500 revolution).
I've been trying to pair the arc (v.4.0.2.a.0.42) by this procedure:
- starting the bluetooth (phone)
- make the phone discoverable (phone)
- putting the mouse into pair mode (mouse)
- scanning bluetooth devices from the phone (phone)
- Pairing with mouse (code '0000')(phone)
and then in the screen appear the screenshot attached
so does anybody encounter this problem and how to solve?
does the arc support bluetooth mouses? which ones?
Use BlueInput. Android doesn't have native Bluetooth HID support.
Does not work, I've just installed the blueinput and cannot make it work as a mouse
Maybe you need to connect the receiver

I use the Bluetooth Keyboard EasyConnect to connect my microsoft bluetooth mouse 5000, this worked ok.
Maybe this thread will help you -

Bluetooth keyboard and mouse at the same time

I have a Microsoft Wedge Bluetooth Keyboard and I'm planing to buy a bluetooth mouse. But there are lots of complaints about connecting a bluetooth keyboard and a bluetooth mouse at the same time.
Does anyone using succesfully Microsoft Wedge Bluetooth Keyboard and a bluetooth mouse at the same time? If yes or no what brand/model is your bluetooth mouse?

I don't have a Wedge but I have a Zagg Flex BT keyboard and Gearhead BT mouse and have no problems using them together. In fact, I often use my BT Clarion stereo speaker to listen to Tunein radio while I have the keboard and mouse in use. The one thing I do is connect the keyboard first.
I have several brands of BT mice and BT keyboards and they all work together just fine.
I have a bluetooth Ms mouse and a generic bluetooth keyboard with touch pad. If they are both connected, the mouse lags regardless if the trackpad is turned on or not. I am probably going to replace the KB first and see if that clears it up.
Ynt: Bluetooth keyboard and mouse at the same time
I will buy Microsoft Wedge Bluetooth mouse or Microsoft Sculpt Bluetooth Storm Mouse. I read somewhere android system sees sculpt mouse as a bluetooth keyboard. So there should be a conflict. Do you think this is true?

It shouldn't be a problem at all- the "USB HID" protocol (which is what BT mice/keypads/trackpads/etc. use) will sum all devices of the same type (keyboard/pointer/...) so they'll all work together.
(However, the system might enforce exclusive access to a particular type, but I think it only does that for exclusive-use devices like headsets and headphones/)
Ok, I bought the Wedge Mouse.
As I pair it, I can see it as a bluetooh mouse in bluetooth settings. That's ok. But when it connects, a popup says "Bluetooth keyboard connected". I also connect Wedge Keyboard and again get the popup "Bluetooth keyboard connected".
When I use them together, keyboard starts to repeat my key strokes resulting as "Ooohhhhh whaaaaaat's ggooooooinnggg oooonnnnn???". I can also see a little lag for mouse. Like they are using both the same frequency/channel/protocol (whatever it is) and there's a conflict.
What can I do?

That's essentially what the BT spec is doing , but it's OK, they're all made to multiplex together.
For the repeated keys- try changing order that you connect it with when using multiple BT devices
For the mouse-tracking speed, try changing the tracking speed in "Settings" (I wanna say in "Language and Input")
BTW, what Android version is your Note running? (Settings->About Tablet)

I installed External Keyboard Helper from Google Play and it helped preventing repeating keys. But still I feel uncomfortable.
It appears that there is a problem pairing a Wedge keyboard and mouse together in Windows and Android. There may be no fix for Android devices. If you can still return the mouse you might consider buying a non-MS mouse. Here's a link to a thread in an MS forum dicussing the issue you're having. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-tms/wedge-mouse-wedge-keyboard-repeating-keys-help/069cf8de-da2e-49d1-ad14-128670ac0ccf
I just purchased one of these at a bargain [24.99 and no shipping costs] and the scrolling doesn't even remotely work. Are there any drivers for to e3nable the 4-way scrolling or do we have to wait?

There is nothing special about it. When the mouse is paired, it should start scrolling. Are you you using Note 10.1? If yes which android version?

Note 10.1, OS 4.1.2. N8013.
It scrolls like a mouse usually does, but aside from that , the touch features are limited, though I seen on this review it can do horizontal scrolling.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSeSrV3737w
I wonder if I'm doing something wrong or if its the tablet.
EDIT: Checked and the Xperia Launcher is not set for horizontal scroll, but Holo Launcher does it. I will email the developers on this .
I have Microsoft BT Notebook Mouse 5000, noname BT keyboard and BT speaker Bose SoundLink Mini. When i use mouse alone - all OK, it is smooth and fine. But when i connect BT speaker and\or keyboard - i have some lags and pointer moves stroked.
When i connect another mouse (simply wireless 2.4 ghz) via USB OTG - it OK. Phone - Sony Z Ultra (flashed to Google Play edition)
I think, mouse must have upper priority, how i can change it? Thanx!

You can't, but that's not the real issue anyway; I suspect one device's BT radio is out of specification and interfering with the rest. I use a mouse/keyboard/speaker trio quite often and they all play together. Plus, if you're connected to 2.4GHz WiFi at the same time, the WiFi will tend to make BT connections worse when you're actively receiving data, as they share the same band (in the 2.4GHz spectrum).

In this case, my mouse is the device, that interfering It lag with keyboard, and with speaker separetely. With keyboard only lag is litle low. Wifi disabling make lag little low. I know about one band, i was hoping that it frequency modulated(
Will try another mouse, but my mouse is n't cheap (i have bought it for $120 6 years ago) =(

This works perfectly:
1. MS Mouse 5000 (BT)
2. MS Keyboard 6000 (BT)
This does NOT work - it causes a lag/delay on the mouse - still trying to figure out why:
1. MS Mouse 5000 (BT)
2. MS Wedge Keyboard (BT) - this is a pretty new device - form is pefect, but I'm gonna return it because it makes my mouse not work
Thanks,
Richard
I have ms wedge keyboard and ms touch mouse, and they both works fine. For the keyboard I also needed to get the app called External keyboard helper pro to get all letters to work including altgr because android (atleast 412) doesnt understand altgr button and im using keyboard layout (finnish) which have extra letters and some symbols are behind altgr + key.
Hmm.. i think i had an issue too with the mouse jumping around, but the app also fixed this issue. Or was it only with the keyboard workin funny and repeating keystrokes... hmm i think it was actually the keyboard working funny but it was solved by that app.

Hi:
You might start with this article:

Google started a Nexus 7 Support Site:

After reading many reports, Paul from Google had the following response on 8/19: "Thanks for the feedback about Bluetooth keyboard compatibility with your new Nexus 7 tablets. We're looking into it." Nothing from Paul since.
About half of the keyboards don't connect at all while the other half suffer repeated keystrokes, gibberish, non-functional with wireless etc. Choose your favorite incompatibility:

Google is telling people to buy BT 3.0 compliant keyboards but you should note that several BT 3.0 keyboards don't work with 4.3.
As for other options, I wouldn't believe that any BT devices are compatible with 4.3 unless I see it for my own eyes or have someone I trust verify.
On that note, I got a Perixx 804 Bluetooth Keyboard today and confirm that it works with the Nexus 7 2012 and Nexus 7 2013 running 4.3. It pairs, types without repeated keystrokes, works with wifi 2.4 and 5.0 etc.

It's thin and light but not foldable. It works which makes it a rare-bird indeed.
An old Zen Koan: If Google says they're looking into it, is there anyone in the forest?
Tom
If you need a bluetooth keyboard that works with the 2013 Nexus 7.. I have the Logitech K810 and it works.. Just a heads up. Its rechargeable and it's backlit and can pair with 3 devices... Hope that helps someone..
I can no longer pair/connect with Britelink Bluetooth Audio Receiver
Seems like issue isn't just related to keyboards or nexus, etc.
Using Cyanogendmod 10.2, android 4.3 on Samsung galaxy s3 with broken bluetooth functionality.
