I really wan to root my phone but i just nid to downgrade hboot first..
Any1 can help?
Sry for my bad english.
Cheers..
That process works fine on your ROM version - OTHER root methods don't work as you're above 2.09.405.8 but this one does work...
but the win down show test fail.. any idea?
Get a Ubuntu Live CD and use the Linux method, OR if using Windows 64-bit you'd have to run as Administrator (I think). Better off asking in that thread...
hello all
i have a question are few
first i have a hd2 that i have flasht and i like that very much
now i have a desire hd and i see sometimes something like root the question is is this the same as flashing ?
and how do i do that and what is it that i can do more when i root de desire
and what do i have to do and where can i find the stuff
someone help me pls
hi it would take me awhile to explain so here is a good place to start reading about root/s-off and flashing new roms
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846248
but if your desire HD has the new firmware 1.72.405.x (check in setting>about phone>software) this software can't be rooted and you would need to downgrade the software to older version(1.32.405.x) which can be rooted you can find how to downgrade if need be here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
so if you have older firmware don't update it until you have radio s-off
hope this gets you started.
thanks for your explanation
Hi guys
I need your help with downgrade my DHD from android 2.2.1 to 2.2. I have issue with sms sending and need to know which last 2.2 version install to my DHD. Don't know which 1.32. xxx or 1.28.. which one is the most stable and official. No rooted.
Thanks!
this will get u downgraded to 1.32.405.6 WWE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
U'll need make a Goldcard possibly to it too if u have a Branded phone.
but is it clean ROM? I mean just stock, original without root?
thanks
i think it is, not 100% sure, but its definatly not rooted , coz the step after downgrading, is the process to make it rooted
Hi,
as the subject suggests i'm having trouble downgrading my DHD, i thought by unlocking my bootloader with the official unlock installing an other rom would be easy... but it doesn't seem to be as strait forward as i've hoped.
so now i've decided to actually downgrade and root my DHD that way, the only trouble is... that i can't seem to downgrade.
I tried all methods i could find without success.. so now i'm stuck... can any one please advice on this matter?
the versions are:
Android: 2.3.5
HTC sense: 3.0
Software: 3.12.405.1
Hi,
I have the same issue phone has same software versions and I have just recently ( last 2 days ) unlocked the bootloader , tried load of things just does seem to want to root.
Would appreciate any help on the matter
thanks
still stuck, no solution found as of yet please help
solved it i think i used the htc supertool to re-lock the bootloader and when i entered the hboot it detected the older GB rom on my SD and started the downgrade

I am tired of watching useless YouTube videos, reading useless comments, and doing it from November until today. My Desire HD is updated, as you all DHD users know, the latest update is the Sense 3.0 update, and now it's a 2.3.5 ver. Android on it. The question is? How can I root it?? I REALLY want to root this phone but I couldn't find a solution for 2.3.5 Desire HDs, just the Froyo ones. Help please! I tried GingerBreak, SuperOneClick. Nothing happens, they run forever and do nothing.
Hey dude.
Did your DHD come with Gingerbread or did you OTA update to it?
If your DHD came with Froyo and you updated to GB, you can factory reset your DHD to take it back to Froyo, then follow the instructions here to downgrade to 1.32 then you can root etc...
Regards.
Greg.
Thank, it came with Froyo as I've bought it when came out.
You can use AAHK (advanced ace hack kit). Search for it on the site. It is updated to root all versions of Android officially released for DHD. No need to this manually as the AAHK does it all on its own in mere minutes. Just make sure you really read what needs to be done before running it. It really is a very simple process. If you get stuck running it, AAHK has an irc support chan so you can ask there or in the thread directly.

Donno if I am missing something but i cant find this AAHK thing, and the factory reset does not downgrade my phone, just removed all my stuff, but still 2.3.5 and sense 3.0. Why is it so complicated...
Use search in xda. Aahk will find the thread.

I found Jkoljo's method easiest. One click root s/off Downgrade , then root. Easy as 1,2,3
Hey dude.
Here is the link to AAHK http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1259821
Hope that helps.

Hi there,
I'm in the same situation as the TS, also with the stock OTA Gingerbread update. So, I understand that a downgrade is unavoidable during the root process right? I understand that AAHK is the way to do it. My question is, will it OTA update back to my current version of GB 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0 after the root and downgrade? Or is OTA updating after this process dangerous or will it undo the root? I'm kinda guessing that flashing the stock 3.12.405.1 ROM manually will undo the root process?
I know there are probably many magnificent ROM's out there that I could flash. But I just don't have the time to identify the differences, try things out and maybe change to another ROM because of bugs. I did do that back in the old WinMo days. Then I would probably flash a new ROM weekly, because there was something faster or more bugfree. Because, even a ROM from the greatest chef has some bugs. I don't have time for that anymore unfortunately, so I'd like to stick with the stock ROM which is good enough for me.
In fact, the only thing I want is root, in order to control permissions from apps (Permissions Denied app) and make better (Titanium) backups. I want nothing more.
Please help me out!

You could OTA update back to 2.3.5, but you would lose root! ;-) Here is a pre rooted stock ROM you can use after rooting: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382235
Tool to root as mentioned before: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037315
