I don't know if anyone had this issue on their G2, but I noticed it a few days ago. Sometimes while typing(browser or texting), the phone would go to my quick launch apps. As if I held the search button and hit, ex: search+b=browser or search+s=text. I ended up disabling all my shortcuts since I just use the 3 quick jump buttons on my phone. Has anyone else experienced this?
Mine was randomly doing this. I noticed it doing it only when I used MExdroid v2 fast. im not saying the rom is the issue but that's the only time i'd get that problem. I'm not even clocked over 2k.
This happened to me once on cm7 7.0.2, a reboot fixed it so didn't think too much of it from there.
Check your quick launch settings. It's under setting>applications>quick launch.
Clear all of them and that should also fix it.
It should work but sometimes it comes back. weird.
I just encountered this problem a couple days ago. Just hit the search button and it will disable shortcuts mode. Hit it again to turn the mode back on.

This happens to me very frequently and is fixed by just exiting the sms screen and opening it again. But it seems to have been happening much more often lately.
I tried searching but can't really think of the words to search for for this problem and came up with no results. so i'm sorry if this has been common.
Anyway, in case it is unfamiliar. When I go into the sms texting screen the portion that you type in on the bottom is cut off by more than half and this makes it very annoying to type. Any one know any fixes?
Thanks
Open the on-screen keyboard and close it - it will disappear.
I had the same problem a while back. I did what Genesis3 described and it would momentarily fix it, but it would show back up later. I have hard reset since then (for other reasons) and I haven't noticed the problem since.
i have done a hard reset recently and it still occurs :/ but thanks about opening the on screen keyboard, didn't know that. So there is no permanent fix?
Running a stock rom I also get that once in a while. I tap the onscreen keyboard then tap it off and it is fine. Pain in the ass though.
I've had this issue happen a few times, so I disregarded it, but just a few minutes ago it happened 3 times in a row. Here is what happens:
I'm in the middle of a phone call, and suddenly I hear a beep, and I look at the phone and the call was disconnected (I'm back on the 'Phone' screen). I then realize that the phone becomes unresponsive (the screen doesn't respond, same thing goes for the Home/Menu/Back/Search buttons).
The only thing I can do is press the top 'Off/Lock' button to shut off the screen, then press it again, and everything goes back to normal.
This happened 3 times within 5 minutes.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? If so, any advice/solutions?
My 30-day purchase window is up in about a week, so I'd like to get this resolved before then to avoid any headaches.
Thanks in advance.
Have you loaded any apps? Modified the phone at all?
I've never seen this type of behaviour before.
Thanks for the reply. No, I haven't rooted it, or loaded custom time or anything. The only thing I've done is just download/install some Apps from the Android Market, that's it.
What do you all think I should do?
*bump*
I think I may have fixed the issue -- I had the Google Voice installed on my phone, and when I uninstalled it, I haven't had the problem since (it's been about 3 days).
Has anyone else experienced any stability issues or glitches using the Google Voice app?
My mom has been having this issue with her stock 2.1 Inc... She says the screen suddenly stops working and all that will work is the power button and volume rocker. Says it usually happens mid call.
PS. she doesn't have google voice. And google voice doesn't cause this issue on my Inc.
Yeah, it just happened to me again, and I don't have Google Voice installed, so that's not the culprit.
Is anyone else having this problem? Please let us know in this thread - I am going to swap the phone out tonight at my local Verizon store.
It happens to me frequently. Before and after I rooted. Let me know what Verizon does about it.

I got the phone replaced at the Verizon store a couple of days ago, and I have yet to see the problem. However, ill keep a close eye out and will post another update in the next several days.

so I've had an issue with this for awhile and have no clue what's causing it. if i hit menu then the option for notifications it almost never opens the first time. started happening months ago on cm6 nightlies and I thought it was an issue with them at first but it's persisted through multiple full wipes and different roms.
when I hit notifications it'll either do nothing or start pulling down and stop and it usually takes 5-10 tries for it to work as intended. hitting menu and pulling it down manually is fine.
anyone else have this issue ever or know of a possible solution? I've tried full wipes a couple times and the only thing I haven't done is an ruu which I'll probably try later today.
bumping this in hopes of help
When I hit menu / notification, the menu just closes- nothing else no matter how many times I do it. I never noticed before because I use LauncherPro+ and have "hide notification bar" checked &when I want to see it I hit menu and swype the bar down with my finger manually- never use the notification button.
Are you using LauncherPro? I was thinking the glitch was from that since the button worked when I first got the phone and just used the Sense UI, no clue about launchers or rooting or ROMs. (I'm sooo much happier with my rooted, senselessrEVOlution, Lou's custom kernel 5, LauncherPro+, btw!)

well just tested and looks like that's the issue lp+ and using the hide notification bar too. turned it to display normally and it works 100% of the time. thanks! gonna try and send a bug report to the dev.
I searched forum for similiar issues but could not found anything(though there are some reddit topics).
When I wake the phone with power button or fingerprint sensor, and try to pull down notification bar, there is a stutter/lag lasts 1-2 seconds. Lets say you pull up for app drawer there is nothing but pull down and there it is.
Also wallpaper seems to affect it a little bit but it might be a placebo effect as it still stutters(light the way wallpaper seems to solve it a little bit.).
It started after Android 10 update and I even tried to clean flashing whole rom but result is same and I do not have any UI altering apps.
It seems like a slow wake up issue and may be playing with sleep frequencies might solve it but I did not root so it is not a option for me.
Is anyone else facing this ? Vanilla or custom roms/kernels ?
Yep, I have the same issue. It's pretty annoying, but I did get it to stop, for me at least it seems the new gesture navigation is causing this because I can't get it to stutter while using the 2 or 3 button navigation methods. I've had this happening since I updated to Android 10 (stable release, not beta) but after a while it just fixed itself, unfortunately my phone ran out of battery yesterday and today after I booted it up it came back to haunt me :/
Alright I got it to stop, disabling both "New notification" and "Double-tap to check phone" did it for me. Hopefully this helps.

I have exactly the same issue on my Pixel 2XL, manage to fix it by disabling Google Feed on the left of the main home screen. Try it let me know if it works.
Update 1: disabling google feed doesn't work. I try to switch back to 3 button navigation and the issue gone.
I do not know how but now it is smooth everytime I try to wake phone and double tap+alwayson display is enabled. Also I tried all wallpapers and it works without any stutter.
Probably monthly updates fixed it, idk.
My wife's pixel 3xl recently started having this problem. It is completely unmodified stock, locked bootloader, reports it is on the latest update.
Wifi and bluetooth won't stay on. A reboot fixes it, but eventually they shut off again. Sometimes it lasts a few days after a reboot, sometimes less. Once they shut off, they can't be turned back on again. You can try and toggle them on with quick settings, but it doesn't actually work. Only a reboot fixes it.
I tried a factory reset a couple of weeks ago. That seemed like a cured it for about a week, but it's back.
It's a pretty aggravating problem. If I can't fix it soon, she's probably going to end up with a new phone. Anyone else seen this, or better yet, know a fix? I've done some searching in the forum and on the web in general, but I didn't find anything informative other than one webpage that talked about some pixels, especially the 4a, having problems like this after updating to android 11.
Well, I got fed up with android 11, and downloaded the last android 10 factory image.
After flashing that and factory resetting, I'm having different problems. Now the phone takes like 5 seconds for the screen to come on when waking with the power button.
I'm starting to think this thing is cursed, or has hardware problems. Anyone have any ideas?
Edit: I have no idea why this would make a difference, but I switched unlocking method from swipe to none this morning and that eliminated that long wake-up delay. It's back to fast and responsive like it should be.
Now to see if wifi and bluetooth are going to behave better on android 10.

You can try wakelock V3 and select 'CPU' and set as autostart on boot in the app settings to see if it wakes faster.
I can't believe that it worked for me. I was facing the same issue and I got frustrated. I was just serching and came across a reel showing fix regarding it. In that video person switched off his pixal tapped it on his leg (backside of phone) and then started it and keep tapping it on his leg while starting. It's really weird but I gave it a try. And can't believe it worked. Wife and Bluetooth both fixed now. Getting "on" now.
