You don't need root. It needs Clockwork Recovery. Copy the zip file on your sdcard, boot into recovery mode and flash the zip file.

[Q] Kernel Splash Image
So I have recently compiled my own kernel and am starting to make my own tweaks and changes, I was wondering if someone could help me figure out how to get my own logo/image into the kernel so that it changes the bootsplash to this. (not the boot animation, but the boot splash that first shows up after the samsung logo) Thanks
How to customize the Boot splash?
Hi Everyone! Please, can anyone tell me how to change the splash screen? The splash screen is the starting logo that comes before the boot animation is starting. I can't find a Boot splash creator like the M7/8/9 My E9+ is rooted and s-off.
Boot animation problems....
So a few months ago i tried changing the boot animation with rom toolbox pro by downloading the enable boot animation zip inside the app... now it when it boots up it shows the splash screen and then goes black for a min and then goes to the lock screen.... i tried downloading and flashing restore qmg boot animation zip from inside rom toolbox pro and now the only difference is it plays the power on sound now but still a black screen. Can someone give me some insight without telling me to reflash the stock rom? Edit: nvm i fixed it ... files i was some how missing "system/bin/bootanimation" and "system/lib/libSamsungAnimationUX.so"
MI (Unlocked) boot logo missing.
Hey everyone! I'm new to rooting and flashing and I tried changing my boot logo with an app (Splash logo maker on Windows), I flashed my custom zip and now instead of the normal Mi (Unlocked) boot logo I have a black screen... I have tried using a 1080x2160 and a 1080x1920 logo but both result in the same black screen. I am running PixelExperience_whyred-9.0-20190309-0220-OFFICIAL (MAGISK ROOTED) Thank you in advance.
