[App Request] Bell Media from Bell Canada - Galaxy S I9000 Themes and Apps

I don't have time to watch the Canucks game tonight, and won't be near a radio So I'm trying to download the "Bell Media" radio app! But I can't download the app (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.streamtheworld.chumradio) from the app market because I'm not a Bell subscriber
Does anyone have an .apk or would an awesome Bell subscriber please upload the apk for us non-Bell users?
Thanks guys!

I got it! I had to borrow a friend's SIM card to do it but I got it
http://www.mediafire.com/?61pm3qvrz22o8w1
It's in .zip form though, not sure how one would install it like this.
But I've also uploaded the TitaniumBackup format
http://www.mediafire.com/?70lahcc58zp9ot7
So you can just copy the zip's contents to your /sdcard/TitaniumBackup folder and "restore" it in TitaniumBackup
Enjoy!

Down load tune in radio app. All the radio stations you would ever want in one app.

Hulu plus for us :-)

With the help of another xda member. (Halfcalf) we now have hulu plus for our phone. All you need to do is place the extracted files from the zip I will upload into your titanium backup folder then restore the app. All three files must be in the titanium backup folder. Not just one big folder. It took me a few tries but it works. I'll answer questions as your post.

just a note, you only need the files in Hulu Plus Tit Backup Files.zip - no need to download/install the .apk separately as it's contained in the archive. Unzip/extract to /sdcard/Titanium Backup/ and restore, worked perfectly the first time (CM7 nightly 2011-7-23).

Worked great here. I think the picture beats Netflix streaming. Not a plus subscriber so my test video is limited but looks and sounds awesome!

When I launch it, it tells me that my device isn't supported. It won't let me launch any videos either. Was I only suppose to restore the app, and not app+data?

[Q] Get Games App No Longer Works After Flashing to UK 2.33

Ever since I flashed my Rogers Xperia Play with the stock UK 2.33 firmware whenever I go to the get games app on my phone and try to download a game it just takes me to the developers website.
For example, in the Get games app, there is an icon that says "free EA Games," when I click on it it opens my browser and takes me to a blank page that just says "navigate, home, help, about."
the exact address is "vip.accumulate.se/gstore/eaoem/home.page?s=31"
This then forced me to download need for speed shift on the Android Market for $1.99 but when I try to play it it does not respond to the controller only touch screen.
I posted a picture below of what I'm seeing when I go to the EA website after clicking on the Get games app.
My best guess is because the games stores are region specific so it is trying to access store in the UK rather than Canada.

Thank god someone had an answer. So what do I do? How do I get the Canadian "Get Games" app? Someone I'm sure has already upped the rogers firmware 2.33 but I don't want to reflash the phone. I just want the Get Games App for Canadian Xperia Play Users.
Have u removed any bloat ware? If u have the reflash? Do u have a google account? Then open one. If this still does not work flash to 2.3.4.

Bro read what i typed properly. This has nothing to do with a Google account or bloat ware or flashing to 2.3.4. I flashed to stock UK 2.33 to get back root. Then i did an over the air update to the 2.33. The problem is what the person before you said. It's trying to connect to the UK server and not the Canadian one. So I want to get the Canadian "Get Games" app

I tried that. I don't think it is the browser, I think it is where the browser is being directed.

This may not fix your problem, but the Market Enabler app lets your change your region. If it's not working because it doesn't recognize that you're on a Rogers network, then that might fix it.

That never worked. I guess I will just have to flash back to Rogers 2.33 and see if i can save the get games app apk and then reflash to uk 2.2 an install it on there. All this just to get need for speed shift and NOBODY on XDA has a solution. AMAZING.
Anyone can help
Why don't you try using a PC to get need for speed and send it to your phone that way? Instead of going through a bunch of flashing, seems like a bunch of unnecessary work for a game that isn't very good to begin with

Won't work from the market with certain Roms as there seems to be certain Verizon items removed. You can find a zip below that will work on any Rom.
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/14253-mo...to-connect/page__hl__myverizon__fromsearch__1
Flash in CWM. Then in a file explorer click go to system/apps then run the 2 files. (MyVerizon.apk, VerizonSSO.apk). After that Myverizon will work on your ROM

Sound player apk?

Any chance someone could do me a favor and provide a link to where I can obtain the stock Android sound player app?
Accidentally removed it
Do you mean the Google Music (Play Music) from the market?

The stock "Music Player"
I tried pulling `MusicPlayer.apk` from Calkulin's Rom but attempts to install it via that file fail
Also, the market (Play Store) app keeps failing to download/ install.
Guess I'm going to just backup/ re-flash again
If you have that apk, I believe you can just push it to system/apps using root explorer. It won't install like a market app since its a stock system app.

In one post you want the sound player and in the other you want the music player. Which is it?
I was kind enough to take the time and upload both. Extract the containers and use the files inside. I'm not responsible for your actions.
I re-flashed everything right after I was having the problem and it is all working now. Thanks though!
I can't remember which was removed but when I tried to play sounds via text file attachments it said I didn't have a compatible app for it

I suspected that, but would have expected it to say it required flash. Instead of the device isn't compatible. Will try flash.
Edit... no flash player on playstore... thanks for the download link.
Edit 2. Nope. Still says device not compatible.
I think BBC iPlayer normally needs to detect your device name and if it doesn't know it , it doesn't let you join the party.

Hey ppl
My Note 2 arrives tomorrow so thought id check on BBC iplayer since there's no flash and i found this. I'm not very techy and mostly iphone user past few years so forgive me if this sounds dumb...
what is apk? I don't want to boot or install a custom rom or any of the fancy things I see on here as I'm not advanced enough to do so.
The links you post above for flash and something else? Do you need a custom rom for these?
I was hoping I could just download an app to watch iplayer but is it not a simple thing to do?
Would appreciate your help.
Thanks

an .apk is basically the application itself.
Adobe don't support Flash on Jellybean (Android 4.1) so the BBC iPlayer app says it's not compatible with the note 2 if you search for it in the Play store.
To get around this, all you have to do is go to Settings > Security and tick "Unkown sources Allow installation of non-Market apps"
Then you go back to stesteste's post on page 1 of this thread and download the two files (install_flash_player_ics.apk and bbc.iplayer.android.apk) and put them somewhere on your phone.
Then use a file manager to open the files, and you should be prompted to install them (install the flash player apk first, then the iplayer one) and you'll have iplayer working fine.

Ah, so no custom ROM's required!
Superb, thanks for your help appreciate it.
Assuming no damage can be done to phone or viruses associated with installing apk files? Read somewhere to be careful of viruses on Android.
thanks again, will do this tomorrow.

This version works without Flash : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.uk.co.bbc.android.mediaplayer
Hi Nick, .apk files "are" Android App files.
That's the name of the file type used .... all the apps you download & use on an Android phone will be .apk
For eg. if you went on PLAY & downloaded the "Opera Mobile web browser" the file it sends to your phone is called "OperaMobile.apk" (BTW it's the only browser i use as you get text reflow after zooming)
Thank you all ...check the sig its here and its amazing! Got flash installed ok and writing this with s-pen how good is this phone!
