Hey guys!
My SD card won't mount in Recovery mode... When I try to flash zips or partition the SD card I get the following error:
Code:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(No such file or directory)
Upon further reading, I've tried going into Fastboot (which does work thankfully) but every command I use, including:
Code:
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
Chucks me the following error:
Code:
... FAILED (status malformed (1 bytes))
I'm totally at a loss here guys, and I'm way out of my depth with this one. Any help would be appreciated!
first try fastboot devices
to see if ur phone is detected
It does list the device in Fastboot, but not in adb shell devices :S
now re type fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
FAILED (status malformed (1 bytes))
type fastboot oem boot
then take a print screen of the writing
ur phone will reboot
Same error.
let me look for a fix

good ok do u have a sd card reader i.e sd to usb
do u have windows 7 or xp and are the hboot and fastboot drivers installed propery
I have all of the above. I've been installing ROMs for some time now, its only just happened after I installed AlphaRev's Hboot.
the only thing i can say is do u have a ruu for ur phone if not i can find 1 for u
I've downloaded the RUU.exe for my phone, but it requires a working ROM in order to work, of which I don't have. :-/
not true i used my ruu from fastboot usb plug
run the ruu
It's an .exe... you saying just to Run that? I've ran it and it tries to find the phone, but it can't as it searches for USB debugging, but since theres no running ROM it fails.
what os are u on win 7 or xp

Long story here. My desire has decided to become sd bricked
Hboot version is 0.93
Software is 2.29.405.5
Phone is not routed and is s-on.
I can use adb and fastboot but I cant do anything that requires the sd card. Can someone please help me in getting the sd card working again please.
John
did you already triy the "fastboot oem enableqxdm 0" command in fastboot mode?
Yes it comes back with
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0

You need to have s off to use that command. Follow the root and s off guides in the development forum then try again.
Sent from my Motorola Startac running Atari 2600 software!
I've ran unrevoked and it says I am rooted and titanium backup runs.
I tried alpharev to get s off and it doesn't appear to work, it cant find my phone.
John
no you don't need s-off.
i think you are in the wrong directory. The fastboot.exe is in the folder tools,
so you have to change the directory in cmd and then "fastboot oem enableqxdm 0".
(also fastboot mode on your desire)
You tried reformatting the SD using "SD Formatter"?
Also, which ROM were you running? Some roms dont seem to boot (stuck on HTC logo screen) if theres probs with the SD card format - especially if your sd-ext is ext 4.
Can you boot into recovery? If so and you arent bothered about losing phone data, format your SD (using SDFormatter), stick something like LeeDroid 2.3d on and flash it (with full wipe).
Maybe this'll help:

try via fastboot, but I allways get the same error as it wasnt connected.
when I type: fastboot devices I get the device sn but not the $ to keep sending commands so every command I send reports the same error.
try the android flasher, nothing.
used the search button, read a lot but still cannot get the fastboot flash recovery recovery.img to work
run out of ideas, need some help please.
Please specify exactly which error is given when you execute "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"(recovery.img being your recovery image).
Because if you've got fastboot commands working you should be able to flash.

You can flash a recovery with the following command over adb or terminal emulator if your s-off. I know cm7, amonra recovery and rmd recovery support this, others...probably.

I installed the drivers, it says
Android Composite ADB Device
version 2.0.10.12
date: 11/08/2009
Shouldnt it says 3.0?
anyway... it didnt work... I will try to delete/uninstall everysingle htc driver in my pc or try on another fresh laptop with no htc drivers.
Again here,
new pc, Windows XP SP3 with no HTC/Android software.
Intalled the HTC 3.0 and the phone was not recognized
should I try on win7?
that is going to be my next test
follow up: tryed on win7, htc 3.0.0 drivers didnt work. phone is not recognized.
I know it was working fine... tryed to flash it and it died... resurrected with RIFF Box but cannot flashed with any firmware.
i tried to flash a new hboot with android flasher, but it just reboot and nothing happened.
did you check md5 sum btw? just with the error saying invalid and 1 byte...
So you can still access fastboot but cant flash? hmmm...
I would personally delete all your android sdk and redownload it all and set up adb fastboot again, it does sound like a driver problem

ok,
now I went to find a PB99IMG.zip with the same radio.
copied it to the sd
power on the phone
and I got this:
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
but it is just sitting there, waiting for something to happen?
I tryed to select something but it doesnt respond to anything... can it be that the touch screen is faulty? because it was working at the beginning.
I did redownload everything again.
java sdk and everything
it doesnt work with the htc 3.0 driver, only with 2.0
Hi Guys,
I have a bit of a problem with the HTC Desire, I have had various roms on and its just been getting slower and slower....decided to put on a different ROM but appear to have cocked it up!
I am trying to get the CM7 Hboot on as I want to put CM7 on the phone....
Currently HBOOT says Revoluntary S-Offed with 6.93.1002
When I try and flash the CM7R2 Hboot the screen just hangs:

o_alphaspl-cm7r2.img
sending 'hboot' (512 KB)...
FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
finished. total time: 7.344s
What am I doing wrong?????
any help appreciated and how I set up my partitions for optimum speed once this is sorted!
Rich
You might wanna try and use Android Flasher.... just make sure you are on fastboot mode already. I find it easier than going through the command line. Check the troubleshooting guide on my sig if you wanna try it out.
Hi Rich
Normally I rename CM7R2 Hboot to just hboot, place hboot.img on root of C drive. Make sure you just rename it only 'hboot'
Reboot to bootloader, connect usb, you should see fastboot usb.
Locate android-sdk/platform tools folder inside of the C drive
Now hold shift key down on your keyboard and right click in any blank area inside that folder. This will give you the option to open a command window here.
Enter in the command window:
fastboot devices
fastboot flash hboot C:\hboot.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader

In the past, I used android flasher. However, with any GUI there is risk involved. ADB might seem scary but it is the safest option when changing radio, hboot and recoveries. People are creature of habits, ADB is a good habit.
Besides the OP is already familiar with ADB and he simply wants to know where he is going wrong...
if its "getting slower and slower", I'll take a 5:1 bet that you're not doing a full wipe before flashing a new ROM. Wipe boot, system, data, cache & dalvic and you'll be fine (and stick to gingebrread).

That's not what I mean, to unlock your bootloader you would have had to issue the command fastboot OEM unlock, or fastboot flash OEM unlock unlock_token.bin or something similar. These types of commands are the ones I'm interested in I want to see if you can flash clockworkmod recovery pal.

Ok so fastboot works, good good. Do you have clockworkmod recovery installed? If not follow my thread for rooting hboot 1.02.0000 and install clockworkmod but go no further.
Also just for your information the ruu will not install because of
1. Your honor is higher than the ones in the RUU,
2 your bootloader is unlocked.
We need to downgrade you to the WWE rom with hboot 1.01.0001 and hopefully that will restore your touch panel to working order

ok so what we want to do know is downgrade your hboot to 1.01.0001 so to do that we need your misc partition to be edited. as such i would like you to boot the phone into clockworkmod recovery and connect it to the pc with a usb cable. windows should install the drivers if it has not done so already.
next you will need to set up your command prompt for using adb/fastboot commands.
then we will pull a copy of your misc partition to your sdcard and then copy it into your windows adb folder.
then you will upload that image to me, i will make the necessary changes and then re-upload for you.
then you will flash it to the phone all going well, re-lock your bootloader and then downgrade your hboot and rom and hopefully regain touch input
then as an extra if you want to use a rooted version of that german ruu you were trying to flash i can make you a "safe to flash" version
ok, so....
step 1. Connect your wildfire up to your pc In clockworkmod recovery mode.
step 2. open a command prompt within your adb/fastboot folder. (the same one you used to flash clockworkmod recovery)
step 3. enter the following commands one at a time. copy paste is recommended.
Code:
adb shell
su
cat /dev/mtd/mtd0 > /sdcard/misc.img
exit
exit
adb pull /sdcard/misc.img misc.img
step 4. Upload this file to somewhere like dropbox or media fire and then send me a link to it.
in command prompt
su
/sbin/sh: su: not found
what i do wrong?

okey dokey, here is your new misc image. extract it into your adb folder.
i have edited this so it will re-lock your bootloader automatically once you have flashed it. one problem solved
also download this package, it has some tools you will need and the WWE rom you need to flash
lastly we need to make a goldcard. this will be hard given that your touch screen is non-functional. as such you will need a different, working android phone and YOUR sdcard. this trick is sdcard specific so dont swap them about
ok once you are ready with the right stuff, do these steps.
step 5. now we need to make a gold card. if you already have one, you can skip this part. first using your working android phone, download and install Goldcard helper from the android market. Run the app and copy down your SD cards reverse cid. double check it
step 6. now go to this website here and enter in your reverse cid. it will then let you download a goldcard.img.
step 7. now go back to the package you downloaded earlier with the WWE rom (named 1.01.zip) in it and run the goldcardtool.exe, this will flash the goldcard to your sd card. Warning! this will format your card!! in order to achieve this you will have to mount the sdcard from clockworkmod recovery to the computer, use mount usb storage and not mount sdcard.
step 8. once that is done we are now ready for the final push
Now the gold card is ready, i leave al the data on the goldcard, its not been formatted. Goldcard tool says, G: Goldcard is now ready.
The new misc image, must be copy to the phone ?

ok from here copy the Nmisc.img to your sdcard and do not rename it, leave it on the sd card within no folders.
then connect up the phone in clockworkmod recovery again, and mount the sdcard with mount sdcard and not usb mass storage.
lastly make sure that the 1.01.zip is in your adb folder.
issue the following commands.
Code:
adb shell
(your shell symbol should be a #)
flash_image misc /sdcard/Nmisc.img
exit
(now it should not be a #)
adb reboot bootloader
The phone should not reboot into bootloader and should say at the top locked OOW.
This is ok, if it does not say this then your misc image was not flashed.
if all is well issue these commands.
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip 1.01.zip
This will state an error, and that it needs to be reflushed. this is what we want, if any other issue your goldcard may have failed.
repeat the last command to reflush.
Code:
fastboot flash zip 1.01.zip
(this will take a while.)
fastboot reboot
the phone should reboot into the WWE stock rom and hopefully your touch screen will be working again. if it is proceed to s-off with revolutionary here ignore all but revolutionary and then if you want the german ruu as a safe flash rom send me a link to the ruu and I will make it. but it make take a few days.
im at work atm so my replys will be delayed pal, good luck
