Samsung Car Charger (NON-Generic) - Captivate Accessories

Seen a few posts lately about people using generic car chargers and having issues. This is by Samsung for Samsung phones. Dirt cheap (plus I get free Prime 2-day shipping). Works great for my Captivate, got a second one for my wife's HTC Aria.

Excellent, was looking for a replacement charger after mine got chewed by a dog. Thanks!

cheap car charger

so, realized i had a mini usb charger and not a micro usb charger for my car. went to walmart. all their car chargers were 15 dollars except for 1.
it was for kyocera, but was just a micro usb.
so if you dont want to wait for a cheap one from online to ship, go to wally world, check out the kyocera chargers, and get it for 10.
Or you can buy one for $2.50 shipped on ebay.
I agree with drew on this one. I haven't found a cheaper place for a car charger other than ebay. Electronic stores tend to rip you off.
If anyone isnt comfortable with ebay, there are plent of estores that have them for cheap as well.
Yea that free $20 accessory credit from Radioshack was used on a stupid $20 car charger because they had nothing else in stock. I had no choice. It was either that or nothing!
Well, that is why I said "if you don't want to wait". I agree with the eBay thing, done it many times. But, couldn't wait given a road trip tomorrow.

Micro-USB to HDMI

Few more hours on this deal.
MHL micro-USB To HDMI Adapter
I have never personally tried this brand but I just bought one. I'll try it out for this price.
i bought one a while back, used it once, i find it more convenient to watch porn right on the phone
I bought a samsung brand adapter for about the same price from amazon. It works great with the Project M music visualizer app and some crazy Shpongle.
Bought an official Samsung one for $10.50 off eBay. They accidentally sent me two, which is perfectly fine with me, lol. I've used one and it works as it should.
Thank you all for the input.

Is my Samsung MHL adapter faulty?

I bought a Samsung branded MHL adapter: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005LGUDKK/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00
It only works like 10% of the time. This in on both my Galaxy S2 and my Galaxy Nexus. Did I get a defective one? Yes the original Samsung charger and cable is plugged into the MHL adapter.
sounds like it
Mine works great BUT I bought it from Samsung store firsthand, not from Amazon. I've seen counterfeits in Asia that were perfect.
I also bought a battery...I'm embarrassed to say how much I paid but I know it's real...not an ebay counterfeit.
Damn place didn't have any docks what so ever.

Cheap Charger on ebay

I recently bought one of these chargers on ebay from tuttoit (12V 1.5A 18W AC HOME Charger Adapter for MOTOROLA XOOM 4G LTE 3G Wi-Fi - can't post link due to xda restrictions). The charger works OK (charges quite quickly in fact) but I've found my xoom cannot be used while this charger is plugged in! The screen become unusable and therefore I have to wait until I have finished charging before I can use my xoom again. I think it may be to do with the charger not earthing properly.
Also the black box on the charger gets very hot.
Just posting this info to help anyone thinking of buying this charger.
Further to my previous post: DO NOT BUY A CHARGER FROM TUTTOIT ON EBAY.
Mine died after a few weeks of use. They are cheap rubbish.
(That'll teach me to buy cheap off eBay )
This stinks that you experienced this...but for the most part...its pretty common these days.
I try to use OEM products whenever possible and pay a little extra. I had a bad experience with a non OEM laptop charger years ago...and it friend my motherboard and power supply unit on my Thinkpad - thankfully I was able to find a used MoBo and install myself for 35 bucks.

Good advice.
I took the broken one apart and the circuit board inside had been fried.
Yesterday I looked for a Motorola charger and couldn't find one, even on the Motorola website!
Ended up buying another one from Hong Kong but I think the quality is a bit better (fingers crossed).
What about Amazon?

Didn't think of Amazon and the price is about what I paid on eBay! D'oh.
Might buy one of theirs as well.
Thanx.
DO NOT BUY A CHEAP CHARGER FROM xiaoqinzhang2009 ON EBAY! Seller now known as micro-estore.
I did it again!
This second charger does the same as the first; you can't use the touchscreen while it is charging and it gets very hot.
I doubt these are made to Australian manufacturing standards.
I'm following tincbtrar's advice and going OEM from now on.

Cheapest wireless charger?

Would anyone happen to know where the cheapest, compatible wireless charger is sold for the G3?
Bro if you buy cheap you can't get mad when it don't work good. It is never worth it to go cheap
I don't know if I would say that. Some people got a cheap wireless charger from AT&T that was fine but out of stock now. I'm not talking about the back cover I know AT&T's is different. I bought a LG Vest case from Korea for 20 and it was 60 in the US. Same exact case. It's kind of hit or miss though. I want to get wireless charger but only if I can find a deal on a good one. I think buying cheap batteries is different though. I want a slim case but I don't know what ones work with a wireless charger. I guess maybe I'll just get a bumper or something.
Depending on the item, I'll buy cheap such as chargers or cables. They've worked for me for X amount of years. If it breaks, I'll buy a new one and it will still be cheaper than buying a quality one that costs 4 times as much.
I just ordered this http://www.ebay.com/itm/22147408925...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I see a lot of people and on YouTube using this. The Qi chargers are nothing special. Its all plastic and the internal is just a chip, with wire and coil for charging. You can even buy the internals on eBay and put it in to your own case if you're that creative.
I have Nexus Wireless Charging orb I can sell you
Qi-compatible wireless adapter with NFC
My adapter finally arrived! I used a sharp knife and sliced out the old one after I tested this one.
Chinese website that only took 2 weeks to deliver!
It works with my Nokia Wireless charger just fine. However, with the standard white, flat, Qi-compatible charger I got on Amazon for $8, it says "charging slowly" and to plug in to the usb port to charge faster.
I'm just glad I don't have to buy the LG-branded wireless charging station for $50+!

My Nokia DT910 charges fine with no slow charge warning, but randomly disconnects and then immediately starts charging again. Is it doing that for you?

I got the LG puck from from Verizon last year when they had a promo. Works fine on my Nexus 7 but on the G3 I get the slow charge message
