[Q] cm7 hboot installed on desire, now i cant install busybox SOLVED - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

after installed the hboot i cant install run the apps2sd cachesd command.
usually i have no problem with running this, i dont reallly know why this isnt working, has anyone else had this?
-cm7 nightly build
-cm7 hboot table
desire
do i need to flash the alpharev table back as default?
the reason for primarily installing the cm7 hboot table was for more application space, but since i have lost apps2sd i dont have as much space for apps.
anyone else have any ideas?
- i can only think to restore the default hboot table or
-flash the standard RUU and then root and get back to square 1.
thanks

Did you flash the a2sd script? Or get the app?

i was using cyanogen nightly build, but i have fixed this now.
i installed rcmixHD's new rom, and the app2sd gui is there, it just seems to be working, i do know i am on EXT3 on my sdext, and its all good. got loads of space and loving the sense 3.0 rom with that cm7 hboot table!

data2ext and not enough space to install apps

I've just updated my RCMixHD 3.5++, wiping up everything, to 3.6 without the data++ with data2ext and I was wondering why it seems like I can't install anything when I get to having 342MB of free space, I've been trying like mad wiping up and reflashing.
has anybody an idea on what I can do?
UPDATE: it seems I can push the installations through adb with success...
anybody an idea? could it be the latest Market version breaking something?
it's quite IMPOSSIBLE to get all the APKs I could want from market or anything outside it without having the Market app working...
Is your phone saying it has free space but still cannot install the apps?
i have this same. info screen says i have a lot of space and when i try to install something i become warning screen that say, i don't have enought space
Cm7 partition image??

I reflashed and having 330MB free it says it cannot download, fixing permissions via recovery doesn't do much...
When you installed RCMixHD 3.5 D++ did you install the cm7 hboot which is recommended for this rom? If you did, before you install D2EXT rom, you need to revert your hboot back to Bravo stock for it to work correctly!

When I installed RCMixHD++ I didn't install che cm7 hboot (namely it was said that having s-offed with AlphaRev could be enough), so I think that now that I have the 3.6 without the ++ I could just wipe everything and flash it. Maybe it's just a problem of the missing Vending.apk and patching.
s-off itself doesnt give you anything in terms of space
but it allows you to change your hboot (partiton layout) so you can have more space for apps. so if you didnt do cm7 partitions and installed data++ rom... well the point of data++ roms is to have cm7 partitions layout...

now I don't have the ++ version anymore, so you're missing the point: I now have the 3.6 with data2ext, no ++, no different layout needed, still I can't download apps but I can push them with "adb install"

[Q] Only CM7 on my Desire, no other.. Why?

Hello everybody, i have a question for you all.. My problem: I have a s-off Desire with Alpharev CM7, CWM Recovery 4.0.0.5 and latest radio on it. I have tried to install many, MANY roms, but all, except 2, have the same problem.. After installation from the recovery, i only see the joker face from Alpharev, and nothing more. AceSMod007, RcMixHD, VillainRom and many more.. The only 2 exceptions are MIUI, that comes to its own bootscreen, but looping and no boot, and CyanogenMod, that works great. Why that? I have tried to install Hboot Sense, Hboot stock, but nothing.. Anyone should help me please? Many thanks, regards
have you partioned you sd, if not make an ext partition of 1GB with Gparted
If you are using cm7 hboot try upgrading to cm7r2 hboot from alpharev.nl as the roms mentioned require it.

Yes both with ext3 (by cmw) and ext4.. hboot r2 but others too
Are you doing a full wipe before flashing the rom? This is needed when switching roms.
Only use cm7 hboot if your using cm7 or a rom that was designed to use that hboot. Otherwise stick with stock unless specifically required by the new rom untill you got it working.
If not maybe your recovery is messed up, try a different version.
Back up your sd and use 4EXT recovery to start from strach. Create aligned partitions with this recovery. Mostly, the boot loops happen when hboot is too small for the rom or ext partition(s) is broken or not aligned. Also you can fix your partition with e2fsck.
Try InsertCoin CM7, and do everything what is said above, should be fine then

maybe that is.. I have installed alpharev stock hboot and reflashed original RUU, tomorrow i will try to root my phone again..
PS. with others Alpharev hboot, RUU won't upload, so, if you need to flash a RUU, is important that you install STOCK ALPHABOOT

HTC Desire not booting - please help

Hey guys,
So I got bored of the Rom on my Desire and tried a new rom with Sense 3 on it. I also flashed recovery to latest version and Hdboot to CM7 R2 and also latest radio. I also repartition sd card in recovery and converted it to 512mb.
However phone is always stuck on S-off splash screen and goes no more. I have tried two roms now - same story.
Im out of ideas - anyone can help, please?
Did you wipe before flashing?
Punched in..
Before and after, yes.
Maybe I must use GPart to partition the card?
yes You should Gpart to partition youe SD card
When your recovery supports partitioning sd card, you can do it there as well.
Furthermore make sure you flashed the CM7 version of the rom you want to flash.

Okay so I partitioned the SD card using GPart (512mb ext4) and rest Fat32. Wiped all data, flashed cm7 version of the rom I want on there and still same issue.
Please help - completely stuck now.

Which rom do you want to flash? I am pretty sure because it's a sense rom you want to flash 512 MB ext4 is not enough. Check the roms corresponding thread.
Trying to flash Cool3D Sense V8
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1040121
But now I changed from CM& R2 boot to Stock boot (Think this was a bad idea..) and it still didn't work, so I loaded CM7 R2 Hboot and its on - but when I try flashing anything in recovery - roms - it started for 1 sec then just goes back to last menu - no errors..
What have I broken now?
Please help
Appreciate comments so far!
Thank you
Okay - I have got it to flash again via recovery. I have increased ext4 to 1GB. (Should be enough?) and still - it won't boot up the Rom. Really wanted this rom!
So, I will just have to go back to sense 2.1 Can I just load the Bravo Sense Hboot from AlphaRev 1.8 and flash a normal non CM7 Rom afterwards?
Thanks guys
How long do you wait? First boot can take up to 15 minutes.
TouchPaled from Oxygen with Transparent XDA App
It's still not booting. Changed Hboot to the above one - flashed normal Rom and it stays on the S-Off screen. I have waiting longer than 15 mins, too.
I did flash a boot fix file from the Cool3D thread via the FastBoot v1.51 software on my pc - I think this is why Desire is no longer booting though?
Where do i find a orginal boot file or one that will reverse that fix I did?
Thanks for your help.
Just want my Desire running again - sigh.
Please post the thread's link you are talking about.

[Q] New rom is laggy

Hi there,
I just flashed into Runnymede007, however I find the rom a bit laggy. It's sometimes unresponsive and opening menus take some time.
I'm also new to flashing, so is this a problem with the ROM? I've searched the topic and some others are complaining, and one said moving the dalvik cache to the internal SD made it faster. Another said replacing hboot with CM7boot or something made it faster.
What would you recommend? Or should I do something else completely?
Thanks in advance!
First Runnymede roms are heavy for desire.... yes dalvik on internal will make it a bit quicker but you will have no space on internal soon as it will be eaten by dalvik... if you using stock hboot try to switch to cm7 hboot or cm7/r2 as per developer instruction... I have no experience with Michaelm007 Runny... Currently I'm running Cool Runny and Sebastian Runny SE on two desires... I found them really quick on cm7 hboot

Okay, I currently have installed cm7/r2 hboot on it using "fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl-cm7r2.img".
The bootloader give me the this version:
AlphaRev CM7 r2
Bravo PVT3 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
It's still laggy, takes about 2 sec to show lockscreen when display is off, couple of seconds to load settings menu.. before it was almost instant.
you can try flashing another kernel...for some ppl the sqn kernels are smoother than those by bananacakes
Is there any you can recommend? Im running http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318370 (RunnymedeMod007)

What kind of A2SD are you using? With what kind/make/class of SD card?
As for the ROM: You probably want to have a look at Runnymede AIO V4.0.2 Special Edition, it's awesome smooth, no lags at all, and rock stable. Best ROM I ever used, even better than stock.
Greets, Magpie
I have no idea which version of AP2SD I am using. I have a 16 GB micro SD HD of an unknown make.
I'll try that rom, however do I need to have any custom kernel for that? There is a kernel link in that topic but I am unsure what to do with it.

Normally, if you changed your hboot, you should reflash the ROM to chose the data script that suits the hboot version the best (A2SD+ for stock hboot, XD2SDX for cm7 hboot). If it's still laggy, try to change CPU freq in SetCPU or Daemon Controller, or flash different kernels, which suit your needs. TRY!!!

Thanks. I'm currently installing the Runnymede AIO 4.0.2 and see how that goes. If it it still laggy I will try to flash another kernel.
Try the rom in my signature, if speed and stability are important to you...

[Q] Desire not booting into ROMs

Hi I've searched around for an answer but cant find one as of yet. I've got a Desire (obviously) GSM currently running OxyZM 2.1 with Thalamus Kernel (i think, it says 2.6.35.14_r3 thalamus). However i wanted to try out a different ROM. Now the problem is whatever ROM I install I always get a bootloop. Mostly its the HTC screen but on the AOKP ROM its the AOKP unicorn screen. The desire is S-OFF with Stock HBOOT and 4ext recovery rooted with revolutionary. I do the usual wipe/backup thing all the time and none of the ROMs still work. Only my backup of OxyZM 2.1 works. I even tried my old backup of MIUI Marange and that doesnt seem to work anymore either.
If anyone could help me out or shed some light on the problem I would be very thankful. Thanks in advance
Do any of these other roms you're trying require an sd-ext partition?
If so backup your sd and partition using gparted or 4ext recovery. Copy everything back including rom.zip and try again
Sent from my HTC Desire
I think it might be your hboot.. I presume you flashed cm7r2.. Most roms only work or work best on stock even if development says all hboot..
Grtz
Thanks for your replies. I found out the problem later on. It seemed that my sd-ext partition got messed up/lost. So I just remade and reformatted in 4ext and now they work again.
