First, yes I've googled and most of the links are from last year. So I'm looking for a update step by step process.
I've tried numerous of settings such as placing bootanimation.zip in System/customize/resource or system/customize/media. I've also tried placing both spc.mp3 file in the same folder as bootanimation.zip... I even tried using pushboot3.0 but its a no go there also(outdated)....regardless I always get the HTC quietly brilliant" bootup screen with no sound.......
I'm on the latest sprint lovers rom(android 2.2 and 3.70)
update: I also tried flashing a bootanimation but since I updated to the recent Sprint Lovers rom I get a error message in the clockwork menu after I try to flash the zip file....
Delete any bootanimation.zip file in the /system/customize/resource folder, then place the one you want inside and reboot, that should change it.
As for sense, I think the audo file needs to be named SPC_animation_final.mp3.
Yes that's what I've been doing all day. In the system/customize/resource folder is the bootanimation.zip file and the SPC_animation_final.mp3 folder ....Still a no go. I'm thinking it's something to do with the Sprint lovers rom.

The rom shouldn't matter, because that's the sense location for the file.
You are s-off in the bootloader?
yes. it says "Supersonic EVT2-3 Ship S-Off"

Try moving your bootanimation.zip from the /system/customize/resource folder to the /system/media folder and see if that works. I've also seen a couple of ROMs where the boot animation was named "spc_bootanimation.zip"
still a no go. :-(

Which bootanimation are you trying to push?
what do u get instead? a black screen with 'android' in silver letters? or your old bootanimation? and yea ^^^ what bootanim arte you trying to push?
which bootanimation i'm trying to push? I dunno, I guess the one when you boot your phone it would show HTC EVO 4G then after that it would show the Droid eye and say "droid" then load to the main menu... but instead it shows "HTC Evo 4g" then it goes to "HTC Brilliant" screen. so I want to get rid of the HTC "brilliant" bootup screen replace it with the Droid bootup

You are changing the boot animation. You are trying to change the splash screen. Download the splash screen you want in PC36IMG form, flash it in the bootloader.
Any fix to this issue, cuz I'm having the same issue word for word. Can't push the animation or replace it or even delete the stock animation in root explorer or any other program.
Running MikG v1.04 Sense Re-engineered
Stock Sprint 4G animation is present in the rom
I've tried many different legit animations
- Droid scribble
- Droid red eye
any help is appreciated

If you don't have busy box installed, open up titanium backup and then run 'problems' and it'll install the latest busy box.
Try spc_bootanimation.zip and the sound as the SPC final name

If you have omnia 7 then you could flash the newest firmware und it'll become unbranded. I did the same a week ago and now my omnia is t-mobile crap free
Is there any firmware for Samsung Focus?
now instead of just figuring out how to get rid of the splash screen i'm looking forward to seeing it being changeable.. custom splash screen like WM

But exactly as the sir before me said, THIS topic is all about wp7.
You cant get rid of the boot logo as of yet (i have the HD7, so its HTC logo)..
but, you can change the carrier logo..
using the touchxplorer app, i was able to find the image... in my case it is called 'mologo.bmp'.
i replaced that with one of my choosing, and now i see it when i start my phone.

I will be gratefull for instructions how to make it that to change/rename/replace/delete the locked data in Windows directory...
I was trying to do something with this, but it doesn't work for me :/
OK i had recently installed a custom splash screen into my phone but now i don't know how to remove or replace it...i don't want the original stock splash screen. i just wanna know how to remove the custom one i installed so i can replace it with another plz help
Are you talking about the white screen with the black words HTC EVO? Or do you mean the Sprint splash screen?
You didn't actually "install" a custom splash screen, you replaced the splash1.img file. Unless you have the stock htc Evo 4G screen backed up, you'll have to find it. I'm actually pretty sure someone in here has posted it so you can download it. Once downloaded, replace it the same way you put your custom one (I use the PC36IMG.zip method).
ok well i did find the stock htc Evo 4G screen and it was in a PC36IMG.zip file and i copied it to the sd card and then i tried rebooting and in to recovery mode...and then its supposed to scan for any updates and it didnt find the new pc36img.zip file...
Make sure it is on the root of your sd card..... And it will be installed through the bootloader and not your custom recovery.... Also make sure the file is not pc36imgzip.Zip.... As it will not install it if it's like that!
Put it on the root of your sd with the proper file name pc36img.zip.... Power off evo.... Hold volume button down and hit power.... When prompted to install the update say yes

Hello !
My HTC One X has a modified boot screen from my local carrier company ... its awfull..
After the "Quietly Brilliant" screen , normally comes the "One ... Beats Audio" logo, instead i have a carrrier screen ..
I havenĀ“t root or anything yet on this phone, just 1 day old
So, how can i delete the carrier boot animation and restore the "Beats audio"?
P.D: The carrier animation also appears when i restart the HOX
Cheers!
I think there is no way to change bootanimation without root permissions.
Yea the only way to modify the boot/shutdown animations is with root as they reside in /data/local or /system/customize/resource.
i know i have to root my phone, a just need to know have can i change the bootscreen to international default

Yes you can. When you root your phone you can have any animation you desire. The best way is changing it with rom toolbox pro. There you have hundreds of animation and boot sounds. But if you prefer the international default im certain you can download it from somewhere on the forum.
Thx for the replys. I installed hd rev. Rom and my boot screen is htc default ( among other goodies from the rom )

I just opened another thread regarding the Menu/ Settings button not working in apps and the home screen.
I'm trying to unroot my G Pad and replace it for a new one at Verizon.
However, i changed the Verizon boot animation to a Android one through PIMP-MY-ROM.
Now i'm trying to change it back but it can't find it, etc.
I was wondering if anybody could help me put it back to the Verizon boot animation.
I'm really new to this so I'm having a very hard time.
Thank you in advance.

Here's on and off animations in one archive, just unzip it and copy to /system/media/ and set appropriate permissions.
Hey guys! I made this DOS looking boot animation for the Galaxy Core Prime just for fun and thought I'd share it. It will work on any Samsung device, but I made it with the MetroPCS & T-Mobile versions of the Core Prime in mind, so the print that reads during the animation will probably only be relevant to you if the following is true for your device:
GALAXY CORE PRIME
ANDROID 5.1.1
TRAPKERNEL ROOT
TWRP RECOVERY
Anyhow, I made this animation into a flashable zip, so here's all you have to do:
1) Download the file below and put it on the root of your sdcard.
2) Boot into recovery.
3) DO A FULL SYSTEM BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING ANYTHING(in case you want to go back).
4) Select "Install", then select the "bogartydosanimation.zip" and install it.
That's it. Easy! Happy flashing guys. Thank you!
NOTE: The first reboot after flashing will take a little longer than usual. This is normal. Android just has to process your new animation the first time, but if it hangs on boot for more than a few minutes the first time, then just pop out the battery and reboot and it will be fine.
Please don't forget to hit the "Thanks" button if you've enjoyed using this animation. Thank you!
If anyone wants to know how to make their own custom boot animation for Samsung by the way, then they can follow my tutorial here. Thanks!

Hello! I haven't personally made any shutdown animations for this device, but you can use any 480x800 size "shutdown.qmg". You may have to just Google something like "shutdown.qmg xda" to see if you can find one.
You can also make your own SHUTDOWN ANIMATION really quickly by taking any boot animation(mine for instance) and just doing this:
1) Download the zip.
2) Extract the "bootsamsung.qmg" from the "/system/media" folder in the zip(don't use "bootsamsungloop.qmg").
3) Rename the file to "shutdown.qmg".
4) Use a root browser to replace your current "shutdown.qmg" with this new one in the "/system/media/" folder of your device.
5) When setting animations manually, YOU MUST CHANGE THE PERMISSIONS of the file with a root browser to "rw-r--r--" in order for it to work!
(This is especially crucial when manually dropping in your own "bootsamsung.qmg", as your device will not boot otherwise. Changing shutdown animations is pretty low risk though.)
6) Reboot and enjoy your animation!
Thanks!
Sounds pretty easy. I'll tinker around a bit after I get off work and see what happens. Thanks again.

Cool! Just make sure they're Samsung animations(ie. QMG files) or it won't work.
You can also make your own shutdown animation by just following steps 1 through 5 of my "Boot Animation Creation" tutorial, but instead of naming the the animation "bootsamsung.qmg" in step 5, just name it "shutdown.qmg" and drop it in.

How do you remove the old boot animation to add a new one ? I tried the Twilight Zone animation after putting on the dos one and it plays the Twilight Zone music but still shows the Dos boot up. And it never finishes booting. Solved with a quick recovery but still have to flash recovery with no animation to switch them every time. Any advice ?

You should just have to flash the whole zip in recovery & it should overwrite both the animation and the sound(ie. you don't manually remove the old one). I switch back and forth all the time with those files, so I'm not sure what the problem might be. Haven't heard of anyone having that issue. I would just suggest trying it again maybe though. It's good to have a few different ones downloaded too, so that if one isn't working for you for whatever reason, then you can just flash a different one instead of recovering the device. I would try it again though, as it does work. Maybe try redownloading the file?
Just made another new boot animation. Be sure to use the 480x800 one if you decide to check it out.
