With the latest updates (HTC_IME mod keyboard) I have no use for the Android / Verizon keyboard is there a way to uninstall this? I have checked in apps but its not under Android Keyboard or Verizon?
Any Ideas?
Thanks in advance

I can find the Touch keyboard (I think) and the HTC_IME mod but not the Android one..
its not a problem having the keyboard its just nice to free up some phone memory...
So far, on all of the ICS early releases, I have yet to get a keyboard working properly. Everything, but the stock Samsung keyboard force closes almost instantly. I've tried loading the stock ICS keyboard and it doesn't work with the voice to text, the HTC keyboard fc's constantly, what else is left?
You have a lot of options...
Try Swift Key from the Market... it's amazing and learns your typing styles to make typing fast.
Or you could download Swype beta from http://beta.swype.com/ and install it on your phone.
Swype works fine on all ics roms, use beta link in above post.
Transmission sent from a Galaxy S II, AOKP style.
I cant live without swype, does it work on GN2? currently i have sgs3 and swype work perfectly on it. No i do not like Samsung trace.
Also with multi window, does swype work on that also? (internet and messaging with swype)
Thanks alot
Yes swype works on mutiwindow, as swype is not a seperate keyboard now, its a part of stock keyboard
Also swype from the site works well

is this correct?
I've just installed swype keyboard free on my SN2, and when i am using multi window, and getting the keyboard out for typing and email, it didnt have that 'floating' keyboard feature like the samsung stock?
same goes for all 3rd party keyboards, that in the multi-window environment, if you are typing something, it'll just dock to the bottom of the screen, not able to 'float' to be able to move it around for easy view/type.
Hi All,
Just switched from S4 to the ONE. Everything is great except for one thing that I've noticed. I don't mind the stock keyboard, but I prefer Swype a lot better. I installed Swype and chose it as default keyboard, however, upon reboot, the keyboard switched back to the stock keyboard. Anyone else experiencing this? If so, how did you fix this issue and choose the default keyboard as there is no option under settings and Language and Keyboards
I also had this problem and it looks like Swype is aware of it and are looking for the fix...
In the mean time.. After the reboot, open any method of typing ( I use the txt message window to any recent contact ) and once the keyboard is displayed, pull down the bar from the top (that has the time stamp). You will see a Choose input method box. Click on it and Select the Swype - Swype + Dragon option and you are back up and running. Happy swyping.
I switched to the Google keyboard because this was annoying me about Swype. I think the Google keyboard is actually better at swiping in general... Except punctuation. I also use "*" often and it's buried on the Swype keyboard.

First select the keyboard of your choice, disable fast boot (settings, power) reboot, check that you still have the desired keyboard, enable fast boot. It should persist after that.
Im looking for a stock keyboard that has swipe, along with current and next work prediction. Ive been using swype and swiftkey, but I was playing around with a friends android phone (not sure what kind) and it was all stock. I noticed the stock keyboard had this and was very accurate. Ive searched thru some of the ROMs for keyboards but didnt see anything. I did not like the Google keyboard in the app store.
Stock as in the Samsung keyboard?
Edit: they could've been using a theme, like I have Kii keyboard set up with the Google keyboard theme and its very accurate!
