Couple of questions about LauncherPro?

I have a couple of questions about LauncherPro Plus that hopefully someone can shed some light on.
First, I noticed when i was using the latest Fresh Rom that when I used the LauncherPro Plus People Widget and clicked one of my contacts a list of options were displayed, including their facebook status. in addition their contact picture was excellent.
I flashed CM6 and reinstalled LauncherPro Plus and the People widget. Right off the back the pictures seemed somewhat blurry and digitized. Furthermore when I clicked the a contact their facebook status didn't appear anymore...only text, email, phone number etc.
So is there a fix or workaround to get the launcherPro widget to work like it do on a sense rom or is it limited?

I could be mistaken, especially since I don't have much experience with Fresh, but it sounds ilke the facebook integration from sense vs the NON integration (segregation?) of facebook in CM.

Well ok..now this is strange! Right after I read your post, I was clicking my contacts on the People Widget and now the fb icon appears. Furthermore some is even showing their fb status.

In AOSP roms, facebook is not as integrated in where on sense based roms it is. It isnt that the widget is broken or not working correctly its just one of the diffrences between AOSP and Sense roms.
as far as the "blurry" pictures I ma not sure on that one but i have seen others report this may be able to search for a fix.

Facebook contact pictures with Cyanogen?

I just flashed Cyanogen and so far it seems awesome, but is there an easy way to import people's facebook pictures to use for my contacts like sense has?
Also, is there a way to get sprint's visual voicemail working on it?

Also, are there any other kernels besides snap that work with cyanogen? I can't seem to find a stable setup.

facebook and twitter are syncing with contacts in cm6 now, not sure about the contact pictures. i haven't really tested it out.

contacts sync works in cm6...works fine on mine. works the best if you do first and last names in your contacts, it makes it earier for the facebook program to match the contacts

Do you have facebook contacts appearing in your contacts, and linking with regular contacts?
If for some reason a contact is using a different image than facebook, open that contact and scroll to the area of the contact with the facebook data, if you click on the picture from facebook it will prompt you to use that image

Anyway to link contacts. Every time I use a CM Rom, I end up with 600 contacts most of them doubles. One being a FB contact and the other being the actual contact stored in the Google Cloud. I love the roms, but this is very upsetting.

Yes you can link your Facebook contacts. First go into your Facebook app, hit menu and you should be able to sync Facebook.contacts.
From there, go to your contacts, select a contact, hit menu to edit contact, and you should see an option to 'join' - this will let you link your contact to their Facebook profile. Also, after linking the contact, you can choose to use their Facebook photo or leave it on their default photo if you have one.assigned.

you can only do this in a sense rom. with cm6 and facebook you can only choose to sync all fb contacts or sync only existing contacts

[Q] Better contacts

Does anyone know of a better contacts manager? Hopefully one that can show google groups. I would really like the ability to link my Facebook friends with my contacts, sort of like the way the HTC Sense and Moto Blur does it.

I don't know if there's one that does what you want, but there is "Contacts GroupU" that works with Groups, and "Star Contacts" that is more of a stock replacement. I use both.

I may not fully understand your question but you can add your facebook contacts through the contacts settings. I did it on accident and my contacts were flooded with everyone in my facebook friends. If that is what you are looking for, you do it through contacts}settings}display options.

The stock contacts can be linked with facebook and twitter, just sign in to the apps and there are options to sync your contacts. If they do not automatically sync you can manually link the contacts, contacts > edit contact > menu > join.
I do think sense did a better job of automatically matching contacts than the stock contacts app on Froyo, I had to manually link more contacts on the G2 than on the Mytouch Slide.

The default contacts does it.. But there is a app in the market "phonebook 2.0" you should check it out

[Q] How to use default HTC messaging app, using Synergy currently

I'm currently using the Synergy app and like it alot, except for the way the text messages are displayed. They are displayed the way the Iphone does. I liked the way the default HTC messaging app displayed them better. So is there a way to either change the way it displays the messages, or somehow install just the default HTC msging app?
I would have posted this in the synergy thread but I'm not allowed to post there till I have 10 posts. =/

Contact Shortcut Picture Updates?

Hey,
Anyone know if it is possible to get a contact shortcut to update its picture when facebook does? The contact picture, etc all updated... but the icon on my homescreen won't update even though the picture updated everywhere else? Running CM9 w/ Apex.

I've had varying degrees of success with different roms working or not with FB pic update. Currently I am having good luck on the Energy rom (which is awesome), but on the roms I was having issues with, I used syncmypix or something similar. though, I didn't care much for the fix, because it's just one more thing running in the background. If you are happy with your current rom, and have issues though - it's a good temp fix at least.

I am actually using HaxSync to get the pictures which is working fine. The problem is that the picture for the actual shortcut doesn't update. If I go into the contact the picture is correct.
