[Q] Memory/Removing ROM? - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been trying to figure out how to remove my rom since my phone will not allow me to download anything. It doesnt matter if it's from the market or a different ROM that I've tried to download. They're all unsucessful and I've yet to figure it out. Any help???

Are you getting a low memory error or something along those lines?

Is SD full? Is it formatted FAT32?

Try Wipeling data, cache, and dalvik cache through recovery. If that doesnt work will try reflashing gapps. If that doesn't work do a full wipe again and flash another rom.

Problems with Inc cm7

Flashed cm7 on bosses Inc and then gapps. Got the phone booted then went to file manager to move the radio to SD root then rebooted to hboot and it doesn't see the radio image which is named correctly.
So I can't flash the new radio but the phones ril is working so...
Next, the market will not open... just hangs at the white screen the shuts down and goes to the home screen

I'm having the same problem with Market right now. Just flashed CM7 7.0 final. Tried several other ROMs too. They're all doing the same thing.
Had the wrong gapps flashed lol. Funny thing is had a customer come in with a stock ally doing the same thing and a rooted d2 doing it too lol.
Still doesn't change the cackle I can't flash anything through hboot on this phone

I've tried 3 different GAPPS packages, plus Sense ROMs are doing it for me too.
Is your sdcard formatted to fat 32? Necessary to flash via hboot.
Ill have to check that, the one thing I forgot, what is it stock?

Before you install your ROM make sure you wipe everything. Make sure you format /system
Doing those 2 things will fix most people's problems.
Also CM7.0 is pretty buggy, I would suggest flashing RC1 or preferably one of the latest nightlies.

FAT, so if you didn't format it, that's your problem.

Okay, so the phone was running awesome. Then he went to hang up on a call and the phone rebooted. It went into a boot loop. So I restored stock nandroid. Then wiped and reinstalled cm7 and all was good. dropped back down to recovery and flashed gapps and the phone boot looped again... I'm baffled.
Running cm7
2.15.00.07.28

When upgrading from nightly to nightly, I only do a dalvik wipe which can be done via RM. But when going from different roms, you need to do a full wipe, including system, which can only be done in recovery.
I don't know much about this stuff but what I have experienced is that rom manager sometimes doesn't fully wipe cache and dalvik cache and it makes my phone loop

Ended up downloading cm7.0.3 and a different gapps and all seems well except he is claiming to have SMS issues

Market issues.

"Package file is invalid" is all I keep getting when I try to download something from the market. I cleared Google services data and market data. Rebooted. Same issue. Rebooted in to recovery wiped cache and dalvik. Same result. Rebooted recovery again. Wiped everything. Installed calks format all. Reflashed my Rom (calks gb 3.0) same issue. Wtf? Any suggestions?

I had the same issue. Did you check install from unknown sources?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
Yup. I just wiped everything 6 times, installed installed calks format all 6 times, then flashed the rom. I'm good to go now. Guess it just didn't fully wipe. Not sure why. Anyway, thanks for the help. Guess admin can close this now.

[Q] SD Won't Load on JB?

Ok i don't know if there had been a fix for this but here's the situation. Anytime i load a ICS Rom my phone works perfect. But anytime i load a Jelly Bean Rom I can no longer access my Ext SD. No Pictures. No Music. Nothing. Please Help. Can Anyone Help?
Have you tried kt's kernel? I'd mention making sure you wiped the cache partition and dalvik cache, but you most likely did that
Yeah I did a of that and I'm already running the kernel

When I have issues I save everything from internal SD card to my PC then load the ROM files to ext SD. Then I go to recovery > wipe. Then do Factory reset, system and data. That way its all clean. Don't wipe external.

install it from your internal card, NOT your external card..
Flash the latest TWRP and re download the time and flash again.

Cannot complete reboot after flashing Rom

Good day fine community.
My Galaxy S3 i747M(Rogers) stays stuck @ Galaxy S3 screen after flashing this ROM S3Rx 3.0 TouchWiz 4.3 MJB (1-27-14) Full AROMA.
1. First succesfully flashed 4.3 bootloader and MK5 modem from within a 4.1 ROM
2. Then used TRWP, full wipe, formatted internal sd, flashed ROM and loaded well.
3. Then attempted a Nandroid, which for some reason stayed almost an hour in the "backing up system data", so I cancelled it when the "cannot finish" message appeared.
4. Then rebooted, and now stays stuck in Galaxy S3 screen.
I redid 1, 2 and 4, and still stuck, even if I let the phone rest for more than 10 minutes.
For the life of me, it seems to be a bootloader issue, but I am unsure.
Anyone has any idea what I did wrong?
Thank you.
Try wipe of /system and all other wipes that you can apply. These are under the advanced section of your recovery
This will wipe your whole phone. Then try and reboot

Builtnoob, did that. My sd card was fully wiped, as well as cache and dalvik. Thanks for the input.

Shortydogg, once i flashed and was in the launcher, and alk was working fine, I rebooted in to recovery to do nand. Even if the nand was uncuccessfull, i should still be able to boot into the rom, since it was already running. That is my question: how come it stays stuck at boot. Thx for looking into it.
Sent from my SGH-I747M using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Usually first boot takes a good half hour at times. Give it some time. However this could be due to a faulty flash. Or some corruption of data. Use twrp to mount your internal memory. Then redownload the ROM and reflash .
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Did you format the internal SD or did you format the system, data, and cache from recovery?
audit13, I formatted everything but my ext sd card. Tonight I will try again, this time with fresh download and wiping cache and dalvik after flashing, before booting, and will report back. Thanks guys.

Don't forget the /system wipe as a lot of the stock ROMs do need it

An easier fix may be to just flash a pre-rooted 4.3 ROM that is made for the Bell, Telus or Rogers version of your phone. Then, load a custom recovery to flash custom ROMs.

Buildnoob, thanks for the info. I did fresh install and wiped cache and dalvik after flash and now all is well.
