Hey everyone just thought I'd share what I found in the Desire Forums http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988570 this ROM has Sense 2.1 and Gingerbread and I just thought that it may help us fix the issues we have with our versions as their fixes fixed our problems when the Desire HD ROMs were originally ported so maybe their work can help the same this time!
Just my 2 cents.

There are multiple Sense HD ROM releases.
Check Desire Android Development.

Hello
Before people get all bent up, yes I belong in the droid incredible or evo forums. However, I thought I would seek the help of desire z devs on this one since they have more knowledge of the new sense.
I was hoping someone here could help with porting the camera to dinc or evo based roms that still have 2.2 sense. We already have decent working port of the desire z rom with the camera working half way. Unfortunately, our stock cameras are horid and the desire camera is far better imo.
Would anyone be able to share their thoughts on the possibilty of running the desire camera on the 2.2 sense framework since much of the development on the dinc and evo is based off of it.

the DHD can handle 2.3 for sure but no one knows the official release date.

The Desire HD is more than capable of running it. It runs like a dream! After using Sense based ROMs for the past few months (Switching to the DHD), it's great to be back using stock Android.
As for the official HTC update, I'd say give it 6months at least. HTC have never been great with updates although they aren't anywhere as bad as Samsung!!
My advice, flash CM7 as soon as you can.

No SRS or dolby effect for the time being.. But CM7 have their own dsp manager, which works quite well.. Unless HTC release the source code for dolby and srs effect, or even someone who can crack it..

If I flash CM7 will wifi, camera etc work? I know about sound issues srs etc ..i really wana try 2.3 but cant not have cam and wifi

I have been using CM7 nightlies for about a month now, only one or two minor problems which are hardly noticeable and i havent updated for a week so they have probably been ironed out already. Only hard part is installing CWM3.

Well i can tell using this rom Modified CyanogenMod 7.0 Beta Nightly #20 by McDV the DHD runs like a dream no problems

I know this has been asked in the past and the answer was no since HTC hadn't released any 2.3 based updates.. but now there has been one outside of N.America, I was curious to know if anyone had taken up the cause for our phone? I know somethings would be missing for our device, but couldn't they be adopted/edited from the HD or froyo Sense Like previous ROMs?

I was hoping for a more defined answer.. possibly with a little explanation?
We see Roms ported from other devices constantly.. hell that's where half the Roms start.. as a port from another phone.. HD Sense (or new sense depending on Rom) is a port from another phone.. and iirc the phone that got the 2.3 sense was a foreign version of the HTC HD2 which would make it even easier wouldn't it

Devs only port roms if there is a massive cry out for them. Also, I more or less read the whole thread and it seems that devs are having trouble with porting it. HD2 is WM 6.5 so it already is completely different. I don't know. Ask a dev why. Just wait till q2 when Desire gets official update.
Sense would have to be re-written to work with 2.3 and it's far too much of a ballache, it's not as simple as taking 2.3 and putting Sense from 2.2 on top of it. Better to wait on the Desire S ROMs to leak and just port it to the Desire
I think you guys are understanding this wrong... THERE IS a gingerbread official release with Sense according to the XDA news story.There is even a full dump of it in that thread.. I was asking if anyone had looked into building a desire Rom based on it.

i def see it being ported to roms. everything always does. and leedroid recently announced he wasnt releasing a update for leedroid 2.3d until 2.3 with sense was released. he recently posted there should b a update in the next 2-3 days. posts below that signified a gingerbread sense release. id like to see how the 2 will work together b4 i update thou

When you say there should be an update in the next 2-3 days, there is no way HTC will release Gingerbread with Sense 2.3 to the HTC Desire, HD and Z before the Desire S is released in the UK. And after that it will still be some time to let the exclusive features of the new Incredible, Desire S and Wildfire S to take off? Otherwise what would be the point in the new phones, everyone would just wait for a software update right? Personally i'm still running a branded Orange Froyo ROM, the second an official build of Gingerbread with Sense 2.3 is released i'll de-brand and jump on that.
Does anyone know when Sense 4.0 ROM will be availible for the Og Evo? Or if any developer is currently working on it?

Trying to rack up the post count eh?lol.No 4.0 roms out,until a source code is presented to the devs.
Sense 3.5 is the only one out there right now. 4.0 will come out later
There has been a few test build leaks very recently so I'm sure the devs that have hold of them will be working on a Rom right now so expect something soon, but for what handsets I don't know as yet.

lol yea, that and because im also curious to know, cuz I've heard of the leaked Sense 4.0 RUU and I just want to test out a rom for my phone, im dying to try Sense 4.0

Sadly it isnt, just because it has not been released openly yet, yes it is out there in some leaks but that is never a good solid lead to bulid off of! but when it gets out it will be ported I am sure by many and fast! Luckily us evo users have some of the best support by far in my eyes the most kick ass developers who really do so much hard work and take care of us. we really are fortunate to have that! But once the code becomes released it wont be long and they will be off on their quest to conquer sense 4.0!
