Proximity settings in custom ROMs? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way to change the proximity settings in any of the customs ROMs?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=951858

Yes i know but it does not work with Gingerbread ROMs 2.3.3

So you have tried it? Just wanted to check as there are only some reports that it isn't working. There aren't any other ways to do it afaik. So what kind of problem do you have with your proximity sensor?
P.S. It's better to mention all the details in the OP (what rom you have, what you've tried so far etc etc). Makes finding a solution much easier...

Yes i've tried it, it errors out with loads of errors, worked great with Froyo by the way...

[Q] 2.2 China Froyo downgradable?

The camera doesnt work properly(no flash) weaker wifi signal etc..

Currently i have the China version installed. All is working, camera flash works well too, performances are fine (quadrant benchmark up to 1280 at 800mzh).
It's not exactly the stock China ROM since all the bloatware have been removed according to the guide posted by Shamo in the development section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919320
If you want to try just follow this guide, it's perfect.
I documented my process here with tenfar's ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931458). Fairly straight forward, didn't even have camera flash problem. AGPS isn't working through.

[Q] Radio on CM7-based ROMs (BlackIce specifically)

I was wondering about this. I've always had Sense-based ROMs on my DHD. I've switched to BlackIce yesterday.
With Sense ROMs ppl seem to be really anal about using the right radio with the right RIL. With BlackIce, and in other CM7 threads I've checked out, it doesn't see to be much of an issue in the CM7 community.
How come? Can I just use any radio? And about any RIL should work?
It would seem to me there are also combinations of radios and G-RILs that would work better, but I can't find a list anywhere. Would anyone have any info?
im pretty sure RILs only have issues with htc sense based roms
then again i might be wrong but when i tried it i used the latest radio and as some one suggested 1003 ril
Seems like it yeah, I'm using 1003 now with radio before latest. Seems to work better for me... it's still sort of magic...

Blue pictures

I have a problem with pictures took by my camera in my DHD are blue, as after the fog, i dont know how to describe this. It appeared on my first ICS then after full wipe, etc. that problem was in RCMix and then again in ICS. I want to say that before ICS on RCMix, RUU, or Android Revolution, i haven't any problem with camera.
What are you running, what ICS rom
which roms do you experience the problem on

Sorry, already IceColdSandwich 7.4. Problem appears on (i guess) IceColdSandwich 7.2, or earlier.
What does Camera quality depand on?
And there was no this problem when You used RCMix3D? So the answer is simple - change the ROM!
yea today i was flash my rom to IceColdSandwich 7.4 again to solve another problem. Now (i was stunned when i saw it) my camera is taking normal pictures ?
What, i did?
So, probably i had to clear cache, after old rom.
Thank u for interest and help very much.
But i have still another problem with install certificate names 17****.p12 (IceColdSandwich 7.4). I tried install by Settings>security>Install from SD card. Widnow to write a password doesnt appear and my phone get freeze. Only "back" button rescue me. There wasn't any prblem in RCMix v4.0, or RUU with this. I dont know if i should do new thread for this. I asked about it on official thread of rom i am already using.

[Q] GPS Issues - Trying to root cause

First let me get this out there that yes I searched the forums and did find information on how some people were getting GPS issues and some recommended solutions/fixes from other users. However I think my issue is somewhat different and I am trying to get an understanding of it. (please if you do see that a similar issue has posted elsewhere that I missed, I apologize in advance and ask you to point me to that thread).
Currently I am on JellyBean747 by (Drewgaren) ROM based on Sprint leaked JB (L710VPBLJ7). This is the only ROM where I get my GPS working. I have tried swapping ROMs to other leaks, Official releases, AOKP, CM10 with no luck. Tried changing the kernels with Ktoonsez's Stock kernel but still no luck.
I have a nandroid backup of stock+root ROM which I used to get root. Even restoring to that ROM doesn't fix the GPS.
I have also tried turning GPS on before opening maps, used GPS test app and another GPS fix app to setup servers to North America etc. Still no luck on other roms. GPS doesn't even start.
JellyBean747 by (Drewgaren) is the only ROM where I get the GPS working properly (or should I say normally?).
Does anyone have any idea why is that? and what is different in Sprint based rom that might be interfering with GPS files/libs etc.
Any suggestions, pointers, comments would be appreciated. Thanks.
gps fix
go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995347
follow all of the steps exactly.. gps now works on all roms. if you have more problems.. reffer back to here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995347 worked for me :good:
I tried those steps on AOKP with no luck. Since you are suggesting to try it again, I will but this time on LK3 based ROM to see if it works. Can you please share which ROM you were using and having problem with GPS and then were able to fix the GPS using these steps? Thanks for help.
I went back to stock and no GPS. Followed all steps with no luck. Like i said, my hardware is working fine but there is something in Drewgarens rom that is causing GPS to not work with any other roms. Please suggest another tip. Currently i am on AOKP and GPS is gone.

[FIX] GPS issues on ASOP based ROMS

If you are having issues with GPS on AOSP based ROMS all you need to do is:
*flash a stock ROM (stock ROM is one based on the LG ROM that came with the phone I recommend this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/development/rom-stock-root-deodex-t2932683 )
*get a gps lock
*then flash or restore whatever AOSP based ROM you like.
GPS will now be working for you.
This has been a fix for GPS on AOSP based roms for years and I had to recently use it myself as I was getting no GPS on all AOSP based ROMS.
Also make sure that GPS isn't actually broken in the AOSP based ROM you are flashing because if GPS is broken in the ROM then obviously this isn't going to fix it. This fix is for people having GPS issues on ROMs that have working GPS which is currently all KK and LP AOSP based ROMs we have for the vs985. Hope this helps someone.
bump. Still seeing people posting about no gps on AOSP roms so bumping this in hopes that it gets seen more often.
Interesting. Just curious here: If I "Restore" a 4.4.4 ROM, get the lock, then Restore back my current AOSP Lollipop-based ROM, will that work? As in, is the GPS lock sequence stored in the GPS hardware flash or something?

Honestly I don't know why this fixes GPS I just know it does. Like I said in the OP this has been a fix for GPS on AOSP based ROMS for years as I learned this trick back a couple years ago on my LG Spectrum. I was one not getting GPS on any AOSP based roms but noticed most weren't having issues with it so I remembered this fix and tried it on my phone and I haven't had GPS issues since. Once you do this you should no longer need to again no matter how many roms you flash; just be sure to always get a lock on each ROM you flash before flashing a new one as that may cause the issue to comeback.
Bumping again because people are still constantly posting about gps being broken on AOSP based ROMS and don't know how to research the forums for solutions to their issues but would rather clutter threads with the same questions over and over and over.
Help
So does "get a gps lock just mean open up maps and get it to lock onto a gps signal?
