Hello, i've a Desire HD with Android Revolution HD, everything was fine but yesterday i tryed to flash an extra for the Revolution HD (a theme).
Since yesterday my Desire HD can't load the OS, it remains stucked at HTC logo.
I tryed to do a wipe in clockwordmod but nothing, i tryed to put on my SD the stock rom and run it from hboot but it says no image found, i tryed with different stock rom zip and tryed to format my sdcard as well with no result.
Can you help me?
I've already searched on the forum and on google but i really don't know how to do now.
Go to clockworkmod, select "wipe data / factory reset", and then flash the Android Revolution HD again from SD card. Done
Hello and thank you for the answer, i've already tryed the factory reset.
If i try to flash anything from the sd it says it cannot mount the sdcard.
It's weird because i've always noticed this thing: if i open clockwork from hboot it doesn't mount the sdcard, if clockwork opens itself (for e.g when the phone switch off for low battery and i plug into the power supply), the sd works well.
Flash a new recovery??
wich one do you suggest me? i will try.
There is only one, clockworkmod recovery. There are three versions curently beign used, 2.5.x.x which is required by some ROM's but not the one you want so I would recommend the latest, 3.0.2.8 but some people still use 3.0.2.6 until .8 becomes available via ROM Manager. If you already using 3.0.2.6 or .8 then the post above is suggesting maybe you reflash the recovery.img.
I actually think you need to rule out a problem with your SD Card. Will your PC mount the SD Card? If so, back it up, re-format it, put everything back and try again.
Hi guys, everything solved.
This morning i connected the Desire HD switched off to the mac and i saw Clockworkmod opened itself confused, i was able then to full wipe and flash again Revolution HD.

Today I started using CyanogenMod 7 nightly build #27 on my HTC Incredible. Everything was going great and I loved gingerebread. I used it for several hours and decided to make it permanent. I unmounted my sd and formatted it on my PC, after making a copy of all its contents of course. I re-mounted the card and started getting low space warnings, so I figured I should just restart. When I restarted, Cyanogen went into an infinite boot loop. No worries, I had a nandroid backup on my PC from a few hours before Cyanogen. I flashed back to rooted 2.2 Sense stock rom. New issue, I can't access anything on the sd. It appears empty, and none of my widgets can load. So I figured why not just start all over re-root and all of that. I followed a downgrade guide for an out of the box experience,(shouldnt have). The downgrade seemed to be successful but now my phone only boots to the white screen with the skateboarding androids. I have Bootloader, Reboot, Reboot Bootloader, & Power Down. I dont think I have root and I dont have clockwork anymore. Maybe if I could get clockwork back I could get back to 2.2 at least and use rom manager to get back to cyanogen 2.3.
What can I do???

Ok, the easiest way to fix this:
1. Format your sd card to FAT32 on your computer
2. DL this recovery zip: http://fourty.net/~berzerker/bamod/PB31IMG-red.zip
3. Place that zip on the root of your sdcard, rename to PB31IMG.zip
4. With the phone off, insert sdcard
5. Hold "Volume Down" and power button until a white screen pops up
6. It should scan for files, and find the zip on the sdcard
7. Press "Volume Up" to confirm update, you should see a progress bar top right.
8. When finished, select "No" when asked to reboot
9. Select "Recovery" with volume keys, confirm with power button.
You should now boot into ClockworkMod recovery. Wipe all data/factory reset, then format your sdcard (optional, just make sure PB31IMG.zip gets erased). You can then mount usb mass storage from "mounts" menu, and copy over CM7.
Stuck at HTC Incredible screen
Hey,
Thanks so much for your quick reply! I was able to flash the recovery you linked me too which has made my day a lot better already, but it seems its not quite over yet.
I wiped all the data, wiped the cache, fomatted the sd, mounted the sd to my pc and copied over CM7.
The first try I also copied over the signed google apps package I received from rom manager, which was in my backup.
Installed them both and the phone never made it past the white HTC Incredible Screen.
So I wiped again and only installed CM7. Same issue.
I have a nandroid backup of 2.2 rooted but otherwise stock HTC Sense rom, but I can't find the recovery on the sd. I copied over my entire old clockwork folder, but its nowhere to be found. I realize the recovery img you gave me looks a lot like clockwork but is titled BAMod Recovery. Could that prevent me from seeing the clockwork folder?
Thanks so much for your help with this!
I'm going to try flashing the radio back to 2.xx
and then try CM6 stable and see what I can get

NO!!!
Flashing a radio is probably not the greatest idea.
Instead, do a search for clockworkmod recovery for the inc. The link I gave you was the one I had on hand, since I wrote all that at midnight lol.
Another thing I'd do is to re-download CM7 from the official teamdouche mirror site, along with g-apps, as I have a feeling your backups are somewhat corrupt.
Ok I won't reflash the radio. But right now the radio is 1.xx
Doesn't CM7 require a 2.xx radio? It rolled back during the stupid downgrade I did.
I've started downloading CM7 and g-apps again. And I will replace BAMod with clockwork. I can do that with the same steps as before right? It will just overwrite BAMod?

1. In that case, yes, flash a 2.XX radio.using a PB31IMG. Froyo and gingerbread both require it.
2. Yep, just follow the steps, it'll just overwrite it.
I flashed the radio successfully, something worked!
However I'm having a hard time getting clockwork. I donwloaded clockwork 2.5.0.7 img
I then put it in a zip called PB31IMG
The phone picks up on it and flashes through some things pretty quick the last being parsing PB31IMG.zip....
Then it just jumps back to HBOOT. It doesn't ask if I want to update like the radio did.
I even tried to push it over fastboot from my pc, but everytime it says Failed remote not allowed.
Since I have the correct radio I am trying to flash CM6.1 to see what happens. BAMod is installing it now. If I can get in and get rom manager it can flash clockwork.
Thats my thinking anyway
It says it installed CM6.1 successfully, but still hangs at white HTC Incredible screen on startup
Wiped and installed CM7 successfully but still hung on white HTC Incredible screen.
Should I try using fastboot on my PC to erase the recovery partition? clockwork just gets rejected everytime, the only thing thats seemingly different about the phone now is having BAMod recovery install things instead of clockwork, which worked...
I miss my incredible
Flashed Amon Recovery, installed CM7 build #27. Still hanging on boot screen.
VICTORY!
Here's how I got it working again:
Head over to h**p://dougpiston.com/?page_id=108 site (due to me being an absolute noob to this forum, I can't post links, so just replace h**p with http) , and pick up the PB31IMG version of the original stock HTC image. Flash it, and everything should start up as fresh as the day you bought it. It seems it loses root and custom recovery though, so just reapply and all should be well.
Hi
I'm trying to flash a gingerbread rom to my desire but I always end up being stuck on the HTC logo. I tried several ROMS( opendesire, modaco with sense and without, some more too but can't remember the names,... ) The only gingerbread ROM that installs is CM7, but i have market problems that annoy the hell out of me ( can't find certain apps, need to hack to install bigger apps ). A shame because i really like CM, but i want to compare with others
Any idea why gingerbread won't flash correctly. I have tried several froyo ROMS without any issues before, by the way
I have
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.93.0001
RADIO-5.14.05.17
thx

Did you remember to wipe your data between each different install?
That's the most common problem when you get stuck at boot.
i use rom-manager and always create a back-up and wipe.
I also tried with an empty SD-Card and repartioned it ( with rom-manager ). The results are always the same, every gingerbread rom gets stuck. I thought there was something wrong with the partitions or maybe i need s-off for gingerbread... ?
What version of CWM do you have? Did you update manually to the new radio for the GB Roms?

I'm using Rom Manager v4.2.0.2
It is possible that i flashed that radio with a previous modaco sense/froyo ROM.
should i first flash that one you mention and then try again?
Okay, Rom Manager Is not a recovery What's your recovery exactly?
And what ROMs do you try to flash?
AFAIK, you need to flash that first in order to get booted.
sorry clockworkmod 2.5.0.7 is current recovery
I really tried several ROMS
Modaco sense gingerbread
Modaco without sense
opendesire
oxygen
etc...
all and always stuck on HTC Logo except for CM7, that one works fine except for the market issues

I found this in one of the ROM threads.
So my suggestion:
First try to update the radio to the newest (alredy posted the link).
If that does not help, then try to update your recovery.
updating radio and flashing updates did not help
i'm still stuck when trying to install oxygen
I could use some help in updating my recovery. I f i do this with rom manager 2.5.0.7 is the most recent.
I seems there's a 2.5.1.2 out and 3.x.x.x is not advised. Is there an update zip somewhere to use?
People report that Insertcoin S v22 can be installed with 2.5.0.7
Make sure you do a full wipe in THE RECOVERY, not ROM Manager or any program.
Too boot into recovery hold down Power+Vol Down while phone is off.
There:
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. Wipe cahce
3. Under advanced menu > Wipe dalvik-cache
Also make sure your SD card is partitioned right.
And for the update - you can only update your recovery if you are S-OFF or you use Unrevoked3 with a custom recovery image.
Grab a copy of Ubuntu and check that the apps2sd partition on your card is formatted correctly. I tried all ways of formatting and partitioning (via clockwork/rom manager) and it never formatted correctly and always caused HTC boot sticking.
If I completely reformatted SD and reflashed an older rom (like Leedroid 2.3) would then boot fine. I then used Rom Manager to repartition & format SD, boot ubuntu (live CD is enough - no install required) then reformatted partition to EXT4, flashed and worked fine.
Also, is 2.5.0.7 your TRUE recovery version? Turn your phone on with vol-down held then select recovery - does the version change to an older one? If this is the case you may need to re-root is (Unrevoked) to update your recovery version permanantly.
Hope that helps.
If you are S-off you can flash newest recovery using fastboot, this flash would be permanent!
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.8-bravo.img
i agree with TMSsecret,
the gingerbread ROMs i have used seem to need a more recent version of HBOOT. First time I tried to flash LeeDroid 3.0.2, it didnt work. Applied S-OFF (which updates your HBOOT during the process) and tried again, worked no worries. Also, if you're keen to install the latest ROMs, upgrade to clockworkmod recovery 3.x... It took me a few tries to get FASTBOOT working properly (possibly because my version of windows XP has had too long to decompose), but if you persevere, it will work.
The best way to make sure your ROM will work is a thorough research session. Not slagging you at all, just pointing out the obvious. Look up everything to do with your intended ROM and read the threads.
Hi,
I flashed my phone with the HTC 2.3 dev release. Whilst it had some of the new features I wanted, it broke bluetooth to my car which was a deal breaker. I read plenty guides, got revolutionary, s-off'd and installed clockworkmod. That all worked well (seemingly).
I decided to try for the first time a custom rom rather than try and put back the original htc one. I tried leedriod. Used the install from zip method with cwm to install. It installed but just get stuck in a reboot loop. I tried CM7. That installed fine. Whilst the phone is now running with CM7, there are a lot of problems I think related to the boot loader.
If I try to install anything from the sdcard .zip via cwm, it always fails with cannot install zipfile (BAD). Tried hundreds of times! I obviously managed it the first time to get leedroid and cm7 installed.
Cannot establish a connection with the PC to the sdcard when the phone is running and copy anything for more than a few seconds.
usring rom manager, it always says cwm is not installed when it is and trying to re-install hangs near the end.
In cm7, reboot from power button just hangs.
I tried revolutionary again to re-flash cwm. That worked, but no difference. I've a feeling all the above are connected.
I've tried using cwm to do a full wipe, reformat sdcard etc.
Anyone any suggestions? Phone is a bravo with hboot 1.06
First off, rom manager's is pants, don't use it.
Bad zip file is usually a broken download, check the files md5 sum against the original, or just download it again.
Then clear all userdata and try the update.zip again.
Hi,
I have a PT4 SLCD-Desire. Was normally S-ON with modified CWM recovery. Yesterday I went S-OFF with revolutionary. I tried several recoveries: CWM 5.0.2.0, AmonRA 2.0.0 and 2.0.1 and RMD 1.0.3.4.
Have an 16 gb sd card with 1 gb ext3 or ext4 partition (depends on ROM).
I can't boot any ROM with Sense 3.x, either with stock hboot table nor with cm7/cm7 r2 table. I get stuck at the splash screen. I attached the logcat files for three ROMs (Aurora, Cool3D and Ace3D).
What I've done so far:
- tried another sd card
- partitioned sd card with gparted and with recovery
- tried sd-ext alignment
- tried another kernel
- flashed RUU to be S-ON und unrooted. S-OFFed and rooted again with revolutionary
- do a full wipe of course before flashing
I am no on InsertCoin 1.1.4. Everything works fine so far. But I want to use a 3.0 ROM What's wrong? Could you help me, please? Thank you very very much.
Could be a bunch of things. Usually it's because all files didn't go onto a specific partition (like everything not going on /system). Could need to wipe cache and dalvik cache (usually works for me). Pretty sure there is a solution on these forums somewhere. You're not the first with this problem.
Could it be a problem with busybox? InsertCoin in principle works but hangs sometimes. Wanted to copy a file to /etc/init.d/ by terminal emulator as I did many times before -> didn't work.
Tried to update busybox. Didn't work. Rebooted: Stuck at splash screen!
Or something is wrong with permissions...? RMD Recovery has no options to fix permission. Will flash CWM and try this.

Try the simple steps, make an 1gb ext 4 , get cm7r2 hboot, keep cwm recovery , do a full wipe before installing another rom

I did that serveral times with several cwm versions.
Edit: It boots!!! Tried CWM 5.0.2.3 and it worked. What I did before flashing the ROM was mounting the partitions.
Hi,
me again with the same problem. Before was on MIUI and ICS ROMs but as I bought me myself a Galaxy Nexus and gave my Desire to a friend I wanted to bring a Sense ROM back on the Desire.
I tried six different sense ROMs, four different recoverys, formatted complete sd card and partitioned new, tried ext3 and ext4, cm7/r2 and stock hboot. No chance. NO HTC Sense related ROM boots, logs look quiet similar, will post one later.
Any idea to get a Sense ROM booting?
Did you try 4EXT Recovery already? Give it a shot. And try not to use that sd-ext alignment zip if you are still using it I had more problems with that than good. Besides, 4EXT recovery aligns it when you format ad cards with it.
via xda app
Yes, 4ext recovery touch was one of them. Tried with and without alignment zip.
Downgrades to Froyo (RUU), rooted and S-OFFed again and installed a Sense ROM, didn't work. Attached is the logcat.
And here is the install log:
how did you make the partition on the sd card ..
use minitool partition tool ... search the forum you will get the guide ... I had faced the same issue and found that I need to have atleast 1Gb of ext4 partition on SD card to have my RSK ROM working ...
Tried with gparted and CWM and 4EXT recovery. Will try another sdcard, too. Thanks a lot.
Also, you need lot of patience ... you need to wait around 10 min on boot first time ... it will keep on blinking then ... remove the battery and insert again ... then try to boot and wait ... it should come up...
But I already see in the logcat that it is on bootloop. It doesn't even pass the splash screen. Cyanogen and MIUI pass this faster. And I waited more than 10 minutes, pulled battery, wiped only cache, flashed several times without wipe - none did work.
Hello,
I'm having trouble getting the following ROM to boot after install:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493404
I have the following:
-S-OFF
-HBOOT-0.76.2000
-RADIO-26.03.02.26_M
-ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.7
I copied the new ROM to SDcard, rebooted to recovery. Performed factory data reset, installed the zip from SD card. It installs successfully, attempts to boot, after white screen with green HTC logo, it reboots to recovery.
I ran an MD5 check on the zip file, verified it was correct. Copied it to SDcard and tried again, no luck. Then I tried installing it from within ClockworkMod Recovery, including wipe options, same thing.
Any ideas?
I'm running into the same issue with most sense 3.5 roms. Beatsrom, Blissdroid, and this one...
But I don't have issues with some others like Andromadus and some MIUI rom that looks like WP7(I can't recall it's name)..
I'm pretty confused on what's wrong since I always do a full wipe before flashing.
If you have a T-Mobile G2, and want to run sense 3.5 roms, you have to install desire z bootloader. I have not done it myself, but here is a video on how to do it. I'm sure if you search there are other guides on how to install the desire z bootloader.

Perfect. Thank you.
Yup, thanks a lot.
Tip to those trying this at home: once you are done with it, remove the PC10IMG.zip from the root of your SD card to be able to boot into recovery without it asking to reflash. Thanks again ACHILLES R32.
