Can you partition the same sd card more than once? Or is it permanent the first time?
Yes, you can repartition an SD card more than once.

when I put the card into a card reader, the sd card can't be read, only can be format. But after I pressed format, it said it can't. What happen to my card? but if i connect my phone to computer, it can show all the files in the sd card.
The important question is that, I have rooted it, and i want to use app2sd. If i can't partition the sd card with ext2, i can't move apps to sd card. I have tried to use rom manager to partition it, but still can't. Any method other than buy a new card? thx~~
You need to flash amonRA's recovery.
Just do a search on the forum as there are a couple of how to's.
From there you can partition your card, verify your ext partition, upgrade from ext 2 to 3 and ext 3 to 4.
Good luck.
sometimes that can occur with a bad card reader. have seen it many times. the card reader will read some cards but not others.
I wanted to make 2 ext 4 partitons for CrystalPyramid v0.5 using gparted-live-0.9.0-6 so I did create ext4 1gb ext4 350mb and fat32 partiton with all other storige. But now it show up as if I had 1gb sd card. Why? Even booting in gparted live it shows that I have 1gb sd card?
You have to create the fat32 first and then the two ext partitions (all three primary).
And put the sd card in a card reader, not through the phone usb connection

Depends on the system one is using. Ubuntu often has problems with card readers.

Found!!!
Copy your all data from SD card.
Go to Phone Settings> Storage Settings> Unmount SD card> Erase SD card.
This will delete all your old partitions from SD card.
Now reboot in CWM recovery and partition your SD card according to your need.
Restore your data.
Cheers!!!

thanks bro! however i already found a solution and i want it to share with you since i thinks its a lot easier. i format the sd card using the computer right click>format> i choose ntfs and quick format, it will fail. after that insert the sdcard on your phone and the phone will automatically detect that the sd card needs to be formatted. atfter that format it with the phone and thats it
Can I partition the SD card without root? How?
Thanks for your help ?
