Please! I need help getting my stock weather/clock widget back. I tried to flash the animated flip clock port from the desire, and after it said it was done installing, after a reboot of the phone, my stock clock is completely gone. When i go to my selection of clock widgets, all that's there is the one digital clock to choose. It doesn't even show the animated flip clock that i flashed. Before attempting to get this animated flip clock working, i did backup my phone completely using MYbackup.{data and all} So i tried going back to MYbackup and restoring just the homescreen to get the clock to return, but no go. I really don't know where to go from here. Can anyone help me recover the weather/clock widget that came with my evo? And also, can someone give me detailed instructions on how to get the animated flip clock working on my evo? Please! any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Reflash the rom, wipe dalvik cache 2x and cache 2x. Leave data alone. Should be ready tog o.
And next time you try to change system files, do a nandroid backup. Using MyBackup or Titanium Backup won't recover changes made to the system.
Hi, thanks for responding. I'm really new at this whole rooting/flashing thing, and the Evo is my first Android phone. So i need a little guidance, sorry. Can someone walk me through how to flash the rom, as i have alot of data and programs that i don't wanna lose if at all possible. I just want to get it back to the state it was in before i tried to flash the animated flip clock widget. The stock clock intact. And again, thanks to all that try to help. Ps...Is it possible i've totally lost the clock? No recovering it?

I'm running the stock deodexed 3.29 but want to try out some of the other ROMs out there.
I plan on doing a nand backup and a Titanium backup for my apps and app settings.
But, is there any way for me to save my homescreen settings and then apply them again once I've restored all my apps?
Titanium should backup all your icons and widgets as part of the launcher data. What launcher are you using?
Note that normal widgets can't be restored properly. They will show up in the right place, but it will be an error message instead of the actual widget, and you will have to remove and re-add them. I believe this is an Android limitation. The special LauncherPro widgets don't have this issue.
I'm just running stock Sense launcher, save for a couple Rosie/lockscreen mods.
It's just a pain in the butt to go back in and re-add all my quick contacts and icons. I swear I did a Titanium restore before when going from 3.26 to 3.29 deodexed, and it did not restore anything on my home screens (it went to full OEM stock homescreen setup). Not sure what I'm missing then.
It should be the [Desktop] HTC Sense option, IIRC. You might have to reboot after restoring to get it to show up.

Hmmm. It's currently backed up so I'm assuming it was last time I restored also. Well I'll give it a shot again and see what happens. Worst case, it takes me an extra few minutes to set things up.
It's a system app, so if you were just restoring user apps+data, it would've missed it. Other than that, I'm not sure. It's been a while since I used the stock Sense launcher and had to restore it.
Ok thanks.

Hey guys, I need my HTC flipclock back! I installed a clock theme on myn's RLS5 and everything was fine. However I grew tired of it and tried to reinstall the htc clock by copying a new HtcClockWidget.apk to my system/app. Now no clocks show up in my widget list what should I do?
Re-flash the rom
Or -- restore a nandroid from when your clock was working.
For some weird reason or another, this seems to be the rule: When flashing a clock widget, you MUST have a clock widget active on your phone. If you don't, the clock disappears -- just like you reported.

You've probably already solved this, but what you should've done is removed the existing one, then put the new one there. Set permissions to rw-r--r-- then reboot. Assuming nothing else was changed by the flash, only that apk, you should be fine. If not, wipe cache & dalvik, then reflash the ROM.
I currently have ARHD 5.1.10 installed and when it comes out officially will install 5.1.11. What is the best (easiest and quickest) way to restore my widgets, icons and scenes to the way I have them now?
With ROM's being updated on such a regular interval there must be a one-click method?
Just backup in cwn if you want to, then flash the new ROM right on top of the old one. That way you'll keep all apps, settings etc.
Surely flashing a new ROM would wipe out my screens and replace with the "base" new one? I understand all the apps will be there but what about the layout of the icons?

I flashed the latest ARHD 5.1.11 and of course the screens all changed to the base ROM versions. I then used Titanium Backup Pro to restore Apps and System. All the icons appeared in the same places as I had set them up in 5.1.10 however all of the widgets were "broken". I use Multicon so I have a lot of widgets so this was no good.
I Nandroided back to 5.1.10 and all is back to the way it was.
Is it possible to get back you previous icon and widget arrangement after flashing a new ROM? Titanium Backup Pro almost worked. Perhaps I chose the wrong restore method or option or do you have to sit there after each flash and painstakingly manually restore the icons/widgets after a flash. The missus is getting a little fed up!
What are your experiences?
Hi,
I am using RunnyDrOiD v5.0 on my desire z with sense 3.5 / Android 2.3.5
Out of sudden, and without installing new application, I am not able to see the background of the widgets (weather, clock, mail ...) and the icon description on the screen locker are showing in big red.
Attached are the pictures of whats going on.
Any idea what is the problem and the possible resolutions? Hope I don't have to install the ROM again and wipe data.
Thanks in advance.
Seems like your launcher doesn't start properly.. If rebooting doesn't solve your problem, then you can try to reflash without wiping. All System files are then put back to their original state, but your settings and installed apk's are not touched.
If that doesn't work, I think that you'll have to reflash with a full wipe.

Thanks man... SOLVED!
Re-flashed the ROM without wipe and everything works fine now.
Any idea why this happened? so that to avoid in future.
Saldy I have no clue.. Most likely there were some settings wrong or the launcher took to much ram memory to start properly, but I can't tell for sure. If this happends again, just reflash, and it works again.

If you are on stock rom, you should try to erase data and cache of HTC Weather (settings-apps). If you are on a custom rom, you can do the same and if that doesn't help, reflashing the rom would be the next idea.
Hi,
I have stock rom without any modification, clean data doesn't work, how can I simplest reflash my ROM without any additional mod ?
