Hi I have downloaded the new rcmix version 6.1.0.1 and i have flashed a radio successfully (the newest one) but i am unable to get a 3g signal, i have got the matching ril file which i have also flashed successfully, i'm still unable to get a 3g signal.
It seems that no matter what i do i can't get a signal.
Wifi is fine, gps is untested but has always been crap and bluetooth and normal making of calls is fine.
Any help of any kind is appreciated.
Check your apn settings.

Try to fullwipe and flash again.
You might even want to use the wipe tool to clear everything

Per the title, has anyone tried this yet?
...I just wanted to get some feedback as everyone has been saying that this is a US-specific radio.
Check my radio thread, there are Dz users that use this radio.

I just flashed this new radio and I'm not able to get a gps lock, even after flashing the efs wipe. Bell dz. If I can't find a solution (still searching) I'll try a differant radio.

Tried flashing the efs wipe again and now gps is achieving lock. Wonderful!
A couple of days back I rooted my wildfire and installed CM7. Everything worked like a charm except for a GPS.
I managed to find the Radio.img version ending in 19.25 which is needed to make GPS work and flashed it over fastboot after installing the Android SDK on my linux machine.
It works and locks to the gps. I'm now going to test it out extensively in the wild and go on a hike. (I'll come back later with the results).
Now my question is: Why would I want to update it to 20.10? Any benefits?
(By the way, bluetooth works as well).
In case it is suggested to upgrade my radio... how would I have to do it?
Would I have to reflash with fastboot or should I first download "Test GPS", clear and upgrade the AGPS data and then reflash radio 20.10?
Thank you!
some radios have network advantages over others IE a radio that gives me great network connection may not give you the same result

Thank you. It seems that everything works perfectly with the current radio. I see thus no reason to change it and won't change it unless otherwise advised.

Please direct me to a thread that explains this if it exists. I am not a newb to flashing but still lack some knowledge about it.
I unlocked my gnex, flashed twrp, flashed superuser, then flash the jan 14th nightly cm10.1 which worked well for me.
Then i decide that i needed to flash a radio for some stupid reason(obviously the wrong one) leading to an endless battle to retrieve my connection.
I used odin to get to ics stock. I am running ics stock and still no service connection. I can see my imei but..... network, mobile network type, my phone number, min, prl version, and iccid are all unknown.
EDIT:
I flashed a different stock rom from odin. Stock ICS. Then flashed the radio that came with it and now..
Voice calls work though i feel like the reception sucks
Sms works great as far as i can tell
4g works great
3g doesnt exist at all.
I think i may just be missing the radio for 3g. (cdma?)
Im afraid of flashing anything before knowing what will actually work but i need 3g.

flash factory image for sprint link
You can't reflash it with the correct radio?
Radios are device specific. Ga02 are latest from sprint and can be found
in the sprint galaxy nexus sourcery thread. If on GSM find latest in that
that thread. Flash using twrp. I lost connection when trying to flash a
Verizon prl once. Flashed radios then spammed the update profile and
Update prl until I got connected

After getting it mostly working with ics I flashed cm10.1 but did not flash another radio.
This confuses me because i thought i needed an updated radio to go with the updated rom. From ics to 4.2.1.. But instead of needing another radio it worked the same as it did with ics.
Is the ga02 going to be what i need with cm10.1? Also does it work better from fastboot or twrp? Does it matter if i flash a cdma or an lte radio first?
Ga02 is not needed but it's the latest radio.
They all work but different people prefer different radios.
Many are flashable using twrp. Just got to find them.
Also make sure the radios you flash are for your carrier.
Hello all. I bought Galaxy Nexus L700 a few days ago. It was used.
And I have a problem now. After it boot up, I have a message "no SIM-card, No Service" After I change Mobile Network from CDMA to LTE/CDMA and back to CDMA I have a signal. But no 3G.
I know that this issue is available at Verizon Gnex until you insert SIm card. I'm confused because there is no SIM card.
Does anybody know how can i fix it? I tried flash factory image from link above, but with the same result.
Please, help!

What Stock ICS did you used? Could you give me a link, please?
And how about SIM error now?
Did you find out how to fix 3G? I think you need to get login/pass from carrier.
Is it possible to extract the radio image? I have converted my M8 to a GPe and when I did I remove the radio image from the RUU since it's a swedish phone with other LTE bands than the original GPe.
After a few days of testing it I seem to have problem connecting to LTE most of the times, but not always. I've read that people still can connect to LTE with the radio image from the GPe RUU and now I want to try that image instead. As a backup I want to be able to return to my stock radio again.
So, is this possible and how is it done? Or can I get the stock radio image in any other way?

Mind sound a little simplistic but couldn't you:
1) do a full backup
2) Download the GPE RUU
3) Extract the radio.img from it
4) Flash the radio.img "fastboot flash radio radio.img"
If it squirrels your reception up just do a restore from the backup?

I'm using philz recovery but twrp is similar. To back up press on back up and select location for back up.
Reboot when finished. I always store the backups on the laptop as a safety precaution.
To restore, just click on restore and go to backup location on phone to restore.
I prefer TWRP but it gave me issues with OS disappearing ! (possibly)
As far as I know, the gpe has the same version of radio as the sense one.
I have the sense version and I am having issues with LTE, I would root and flash the gpe radio if thats going to fix the problem

As you know I am using the Gpe RUU and love it.
Radio works great for 3G/4G. The issue is 4G coverage is crap both here and where I work I do get it on the drive home lol.

It is not about the coverage here. I live in Saudi Arabia and I used to have a very good, consistent LTE connection using the M7, LG G2, Lumia 1020, Xperia Z1 & Xperia SP. But not the M8. This device only connects to LTE when the signal is very strong. And I am not the only person here with this issue. I have seen many people complaining about the M8 ability to connect to LTE network.
I hope its a radio issue as I really like this phone and I don't want to replace it anytime soon

But the GPe only exists in the US, so the frequencies are different in that and the European. Couldn't that be a problem if I flash GPe radio?

Compared to the Nexus 5 my M8 seems to have worse coverage. But my problem is that it's not connecting data at all when trying LTE. If I limit it to 3G it seems to work all the time.

And you use the GPe radio? What frequencies are your carrier on? 800 MHz and 2600 MHz?

To extract your radio image, do the following commands.
adb shell
su (if needed to get a #)
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p20 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0p20
exit
You'll find the radio image on the internal sd card.

I believe that LTE frequencies are hardware related, not software. Someone correct me if I'm wrong
Thanks, I'll try this later today.

Yes they are, but couldn't it mean that it needs specifik software too?

So the file mmcblk0p20 is the radio image? It's 75 MB.
How do I flash the GPe radio? I tried fastboot flash radio radio.img but I get FAILED: remote not allowed.
IMO, you simply need to edit the ril settings in build.prop to match what was on your sense Rom and lte connectivity will be restored. These are the lines that need changed:
ro.ril.hsdpa.category=
ro.ril.hsupa.category=
ro.ril.hsxpa=
Gpe sets these pretty low for some reason..

Well the m7vzw is made for Verizon networks. If it works at all on any other carrier is just a bonus. Most people haven't had much luck getting this phone to work with other networks.
For now everything working fine except NFC. I got message from mywallet app that sim card isn't NFC capable.
On ViperOne I still can't make phone calls.
Anyone have idea how to change m7vzw to be recognized as m7?
