I'm using the Redemption Rom for my HTC Droid Incredible, and I removed the Live Wallpaper picker using Root Explorer. However, now I want it back so I select a live wallpaper, but I can't. I copied and pasted into Systems/App again but it will won't reinstall. How can I reinstall it?

Did you reboot? Or even force stop sense and let it reload application drawer

Yes, but I am not using Sense. I flashed the Sense(less) script and using purely LauncherPro. Do you think this may have an effect?

Hello everyone
I need help on How to remove the HTC Wallpapers.. I have successfully removed the Wallpapers using Root Explorer but the folder option is still there.
How Do I get rid of the folder option??(circled in the picture)

I've wondered the same thing.
I believe it is cooked into Rosie. Different launchers show different options for wallpaper selection.
I expect you would have to open up the Rosie APK with smali/baksmali stuff and change something.

Agreed. I wish all this stuff was more modular, instead of when you buy an android phone you have to not only pick carrier and hardware specs, but also if you want to be stuck with sense or blur or touch wiz or whatever.

Ok, I have noticed on some alternative launchers (like launcher pro for example) if you drag an icon onto the "desktop" from the app drawer and hold it on top of the trash for a few seconds, it will prompt you to uninstall the app.....
Is there any way of getting this implemented into some of the custom roms around here? or is there something I could install as an "update.zip" to acquire this ability? I like the stock sense launcher so I don't really want to install and alternative launcher for this.....surely there is a way!

does it do what I requested? I've never heard of it....I'll have to look into it, thanks!
It's an app you click into it lists all installed apps so you can uninstall easily its not the same thing but its easier uninstalls

I'll pass then....if I'm gonna do that then I'll just go into the built in manager apps and uninstall it.
Thanks anyway!
Like I said, it is a feature that I like about launcher pro, but I don't want to install a different launcher JUST for that feature. Oh well, I'll just deal with the normal process!
I was wondering if there was a way, and how to, edit the default app icons, so when opening up the app list or placing one on the home screen, the icon is one other than the original?
Thanks
You would have to change the icon in each apk file.

What rom are you using? Because cm6.1 and 7 nightlies you can pick any picture you want on your desktop only. I think there are some launchers that will let you pick also.

redemptive, but i have launchepro, so I know I can use the feature on that. But what I mean is: I have really nice icons i found, and I use SiMi folder widget. I can't edit the icons in the widget, those are the default ones in the apk. However, i tried editing the apk itself, but it disappeared when i rebooted, which seems to happen a lot.
Did you sign the apk after you got done editing it? Any third party apks will need to be resigned, any stock apks do not.

Last time i tried this using apk manager, it still wouldnt work, but i can give it another shot.
I get to signing it, but from there i try to install and it says "application not installed"
Do I need to uninstall the original apk first or something?

If you use adw or lp, you can do that by long pressing the icon and selecting a custom one. If not, you'll have to theme them

FINALLY I figured out apk manager for image editing!!!
Now my apps dont disappear on reboot and my widgetlocker is sexy again!
Thanks guys
How did you do it? Does it have to be signed?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Download apk manager from the forums...then when you use it on the apk, just extract it, don't decompile it, then drop in your image and zip it as a regular apk, don't recompile, and then sign it...that's it

So i pulled the apk from data/app.
Replaced the icon inside like usual
Put it back to data/app. And it goes missing from the app drawer.
Tried putting it in system/app, and it says Handcent has stopped working.
Something im missing?
Non system apps have to installed, not just pushed. Delete your old one first our you'll get a parse error.

So grab the apk, change the icons, uninstall handcent, push hte apk, INSTALL that new apk from data/app?
Yep. if all your doing is changing icons, why not use nova launcher and do it with no hassles?

I figured id lose some kind of core ics functionality changing to a third party launcher.
Cant get this **** to work at all....
copied the com.handcent....apk file to my pc. Changed the icon.
uninstalled handcent from my phone
Transferred over the com.handcent....apk from pc to /data/app
Ran the apk and installed it, says Application not installed when i try to install it.
Upload the icon and the apk file. I'll help if you like.

Thank you, heres the two icons i want thrown in, theyre both in the drawable-hdpi folder. Thanks. Ones the main icon for the apk. The icon_pink is to overwrite the pink notification choice u can choice as a icon in the app settings.
Does nova change the app drawer icons? If so,how?
I thought it could only change home screen icons

Nova doesn't do app drawer icons, only homescreen. They do keep even after an update though. For OP, there is something odd about this app. Even just decompiling/recompiling with no changes, and the app closes immediately after startup. No errors or anything, and logcat returns no errors. My only advice is to use Nova Launcher- you will not lose one bit of functionaloty or appearance (exactly like stock) and will gain a ton of features.

ES file explorer. Then go to the bottom of the settings and enable root explorer and system mount options.

Ok, so I moved the two apk's to system/app and when I went to widgets, none of the two widgets appeared. I then rebooted my phone but it still didn't show up.

Have you looked at Beautiful Widgets on the market? It's skinable, super customizable, and has a clock/weather widget that is similar to what you are describing.

I looked at that and I really like those widgets, but I rather not pay for apps.
