Did xda change the format of their xda premium app? Use to have a search feature under the "My Profile" section and now it is not there. Makes it hard to search for answers when there is no search feature on the app.
"Hell I don't know anymore"
Not just premium app but free app also
They need to have an in house dev write up a new app. Something worth paying for. I have no problem donating xda but this app kind of blows.

It disappears every now & then, it'll pop back up in a while.
And I agree, this app needs to be rewritten. A "thanks" button among other things should be implemented. At least there's the "browser" button when you hit menu... I use that more than anything else.
I still have search capabilities. It is under the "more" tab.

Yeah, it disappeared earlier... it does that sometimes. It's back now.

Since most dev's and cooks post the date of each new version of their rom etc in the dev forum is it possible to add a search for a certain date within a thread.
For example lets say there is a new version of a Rom out thats Dated *12/30/10*'
Instead of digging through the thread it would be nice to just have a date search box where you can find the 1st entry for 12/30/10 within the thread. There are some that have some insane amount of threads. It would save bandwidth and save members time.
Just a suggestion

so basically, Thread Tools > Search > within date time frame
nice

Just wondering if it had been made possible that when you click a link for the xda forums that instead of the browser launching the xda app launches?

So you mean, if you press a link in the browser or email, you want it to open in XDA App? I don't think there is a way to do that from a technical standpoint. Interesting thought, though.

That is exactly what I mean, mainly from twitter and facebook apps as this is where I generally click links from on my phone. It'd be cool to click on a forum link and it ask you if you want to open app or browser.

Won't work I'm afraid. It would be messy, as we would need to write a handler overlay to intercept ALL URLs, and detect if they were XDA ones. If so, somehow open tapatalk to the right place. If non-XDA, we would have to pass them onto the browser.
It would be messy, though perhaps possible, but not really a good idea.
Hi gents. Just upgraded to this awesome 747...but have a silly problem with the xda mobile app. Every time I hit the back button to close a thread it closes the app. Very annoying! This didn't happen on the old SGS Captivate. Anyone else experiencing this?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
I only experience this when the app is minimized, reopened then I press the back button.
But thats minor. Issue with mine is it rarely displays the pictures. Which is annoying especially when looking at a new rom

My problem is three fold. The app freezes when i open pm tab, it sometimes develops major lag almost to point of non responsiveness, and i can't upload pics with xda premium (have to use tapatalk to upload pics).
Make sure you dont have back to kill activated. It kills any app your in by pressing the back button. Development options

You may be right. Not sure if it's exactly the same but i remember a setting "when backing out of a program with the back button, it will kill the app instead of running it in the background." I'll check into it
Edit: found it. It's in development options. Both settings are. "Don't keep activities" is the one i was referring to. I just tested it and it will accidentally close the app when pressing back. It thinks you want to leave the app.

If you press the menu button does it give you the option to turn Google Now on/off? If not, you probably need to update search from the Play Store.
Edit: should be under menu button/settings.
Didn't have Google search installed. Now I have now. Question is ,I thought it was for things like opening apps or giving flight times. All I get after asking a question is Google search page

For that functionality you can try an app called "iris." from the Play Store.
Sorry,I know this is probably a dumb question.
I have seen this game in the manage apps screen and know that it is just boat ware.
But I was thinking I would give it a try since I like those kinds of games but can not see it in my regular app drawer.
Am I missing something?
I have looked everywhere I can think and can't seem to find it.

That is because it's a group play game. You have to go into group play and then you'll see the games.
