Probably you can't find it because its not available in you'r region. I also can't. There are 2 solutions:
1) This is the easy way: download apk from the web (search in google "google maps apk 5.3.1" or try this http://software2tech.com/tag/google-maps-5-3-1-apk-download/) then install the apk on the phone (you should enable Settings->Aplications->Unknown sources).
2) You neet rooted device. Install MarketAccess and fake your provider to T-Mobile US. Now you will be able to download it from Android Market.
try to deinstall your old Maps-installation first.
Or use Applanet !
You can try also moded application there's brut modon forum

i wrote google maps in the market but it didn't find anything ://
Hate to ask, but which country? Maybe the market is regional, but I don't think so.
Because I just checked again, and it's there (telling me there's an update)
This is really strange....................................

Are you using a custom rom? If, which one?
Some customs have problems displaying some apps on the market.
Klewe
three ideas:
1. browse with your device this site market://search?q=pname:com.google.android.apps.maps
2. sign in and try installing it remote here https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.apps.maps&feature=search_result
3. if this doesnt help try market enabler and check a us. provider
ps.:if this also fails, try asking in the rom thread (something with proper.build could be change this)

Hello everyone! New member here.
Just installed Virtuous 2.0 on my DZ 2.3.3 (downgraded, rooted and upgraded) and I realize that I now do not have access to Google Maps. I've tried Market Enabler, and none of the settings allow me to download Google Maps again. From the PC, it says it's not compatible for my device, and from my phone Maps isn't even available through search.
Could anyone help me?
I'd try looking around for a flashable gapps file somewhere that will work with your rom. Also - unless you've been attacked there before, i'd recommend asking this same question in the thread for the rom you are using! Others (who don't look in this forum) may know exactly what is wrong.

I resorted to downloading the .APK from some shady site. I have not reached 10 posts yet and thus cannot post in the Development forums ): Thanks anyway! Thought Maps should have been available for any device on any ROM ):

It is if you just flash the appropriate GAPPS package.

I am using the Runnymede AIO ROM by Sebastiaan for quite some time, and I love it.
But since V4.0 the youtube app seems to be missing. Every youtube movies is played in the browser instead of in the app.
The app is not in the list of installed applications on my device, I tried installing it from the market but it is not there either!
When installing the ROM I've choosen the custom install and unchecked some apps, but as far as I remember the youtube app was not listed there.
I'm using CM7/R2 and AD2SDX.
Am I the only one with this problem?
I also don't have the YouTube app in my applist. But i just installed it from the market. Should be there.

Could it be that I don't see the YouTube app in the market because I'm not using the market-enabler?
EDIT: When I try to install the youtube app using https://market.android.com I get the message that this app is not available in my country ??
I'm in Belgium and I'm using the dutch language on my Desire...
It's not the market-enabler. I also don't use the market-enabler. What you can try is to do nandroid backup. Flash the rom again and select the Belgium language. Or try to update the market thru an market.apk file. Don't know anything else, never had this problem !

euhm, there is no "Belgium language"
We speak Dutch and/or French.
On topic : I finally got the youtube app installed! But links to youtube videos are still opened in the browser instead of in the app...
Try this youtube app... install as you normally install apks.
Thanks.
But links to youtube movies are stilled played inside the browser. I'm quite sure that before (in AIO 3.0.5 for example) those links were automatically opened in the youtube app.

If you are looking to download torrents on your phone look in the market for a torrent client, I use tTorrent myself.

You don't open themes or wallpapers per se, you only apply them after you download them. Themes through the personalization option in settings on stock ROMs and usually theme chooser app on most AOSP ROMs. There is usually instructions where you download themes on how to install, just follow those.

Hi,
after I was looking for answer to this thread, I have decided to uninstall Google Play Services.
Now, I want to reinstall it, where can I find a Google's official apk?
Thanks
I use Cyanogen mod and installed it via opengapps by the clockwork recovery. In other words, depending on what you got you might need other stuff than just the apk. Google Google play apk and you should find a xda thread about it. Or even search via the forum.

Maybe something of this works for you www.android.gs/download-install-and-flash-google-apps-for-android/

Edit:
Google have updated Google play services to v 8.3.01 but it haven't solved the problems.
I am switching to Ivan's ROM
