Suddenly I was getting errors in my email and handscent google force close. I re-installed Syndicate Frozen Full. Each time after a day I started getting TWLauncher Error force close. Tried 3 times. I am running Syndicate Rom without touchwiz seems to be ok. Anyone else see this. My wife is occasionally getting force closes on stock EC08 just rooted. Is there a bug in touchwiz with EC08?

You mean EC05 and no. Running it fine with Bonsai 4.0.1. Are you pulling the battery without shutting down properly (waiting for the vibration)? With journaling off any improper shutdown will cause force closes due to data corruption. Clear the data in twlauncher and reset up your homescreens or restore data from titanium if you have it to get your homescreens back. Then do a Nand backup and restore through Clockwork to turn journaling on. That should prevent the corruption of data you are seeing. Also turn off any overclocking or undervolting. This will also cause data corruption.
Have you tried fixing the permissions in CWM?
When I flashed this ROM everything started force closing randomly and I read in the SyndicateROM thread to fix permissions and it's been great since.
I will have to read fix the permissions but since witching to launcher pro version of Syndicate everything has been great. odd.
Can you link me to the fix permissions thread I can't seem to find it? Thanks

True, but other than twcrushdlauncher which is basically the same, what other launcher has the nice icons in the dock area and where you can put 4 or 5 of them?

Um... all of them? LauncherPro, for one, has a scrollable dock. Icons are theoretically infinite. If you want a custom background, there's thousands.
I am liking launcher pro so I bought it wish it would scroll horizontal in the apps list

Shouldn't you be finishing kicking my a$$ in Wordfeud? LOL
I want a launcher that looks like Touchwiz with 5 icons in the dock, in color. We all agree Touchwiz sucks and TWcrushdlauncher sucks only a little less. So I need a good alternative but want color on my Super Amoled 4" screen.

Could anyone tell me how to eliminate the Battery symbol and time in the notification bar? I have the bar hidden right now, but I use a different app to monitor the battery, so I don't want two indicators up there, and the time is useless since I have an app on the screen showing the time.
Thanks for the help in advance.

you will have to do this with a custom home screen (aka launcher.)
not sure which, launcher pro or ADW but one of those can modify those settings to a certain extent. I dont have exact details but someone can provide them. also that might require root... are you running root? how about any custom roms? I am pretty sure cyanogenmod comes with ADW, and that in CM adw you can modify those. good luck --josh
I'm running sky raider 2.5.0 and it has launcher pro in it. There is no options for that. Oh well. I'll figure it out eventually.

Go to the Themes and Apps forum. There is a thread in there with zip files for removing the clock, location reticle, and/or battery icon.
My room mate and i both have evos, he has an epson panel and i have a nova, it never bothered me until today when i noticed exactly how distorted the colors were on the nova, i can easily see the pinkish/purple hue in it, both phones are rooted and 003 revisions, any way to somehow distort the color so it is accurate on the nova panel? or am i just better off with the nova? ive read many opinions on the nova vs the epson i really need a non biased opinion and a solution for the nova if there is one haha
I don't think there is any way to fix it. There is such a variation with these screens, even from one nova to the next. My first Evo was a nova, my second an epson, and my third and current one has a nova and is easily the best screen I've seen on an Evo. I compared it to my buddy's with a nova, and I saw in his screen the purplish hue that everyone talks about but mine is as black as night.
edit: I stand corrected.

That's exactly what I was gonna post. Install it-- it works great. No more purplish greys, and whites remain a bright white.
Or, if you have CM6 it comes pre-installed with the 3 calibrated settings pre-built-- just choose which one you like the best.
im using baked snack, as well when i try to change the settings it force closes, the .zip flashed just fine, any ideas?

don't install the "Sense" version. I am running Baked Snack 1.7, flashed the "Sense" version, then installed the controller app and got Force closing as soon as I tried sliding any of the sliders.
just flash the Universal .zip, don't need to reinstall the controller apk.
should be set to the "optimal" settings right as you restart!. which looks great to me, a little too warm for my taste, so I tweaked it.
fantastic find and thanx for the post!
Soooo ... for the past couple days I've decided to give up my Sense ROM on my G2 and switch to CM6.1 Final, with the Gingerbread Theme. But for some reason I can't find a way to install the docks & icons. I've seen on many thread folks asking questions about installing custom docks and icons and I figured I would just start this. If anyone know's how to do it, feel free to post the instructions here.
Thanks!
Checked around to see if there were any rules for starting this thread and I didn't find any reason not too.

The launcher that comes with CM6.1 is ADW Launcher. Personally, I prefer Launcherpro. Both launchers have the ability to change the dock background. Try out launcher pro from the market and see which you prefer. Then you can go into the "Appearance" settings and change the dock to a pre-loaded dock or to a custom dock by selecting "custom" (it will then take you to your SD card to choose your custom image.
As for the icons, I use Bettercut found in the market. But if your not willing to spend, then Desktop Visualizer is another great option. They both allow you to change the shortcut icons.
Hope this helps!
I agree with Nissan. Been using Launcher Pro for about a week now and love it. I tried using a similar app when I was using my Cliq, but it made it super lag. With all the pwer behind the G2, u shouldn't notice anything too drastic as far as performance goes. And if you're overclocked, well then all the better

Damn ADW
I've flirted with ADW the entire day and there is no way to change the dock to anything custom. I'm going to download LP and just use that for my docks/icons and etc. Screw ADW.

Lmao! That's the same way I felt about ADW. ADW uses theme files that you can get in the market. When applied, it changes your wallpaper, icons, and dock background. I'm pretty confident that you will like LP if you don't like ADW.
not only does ADW lack an easy way to theme it but it also lacks 3d app drawer and the flick up app dock is super laggy on Vision, at least it was the last time I used it.... LPFTW!

Hey All,
Just wanted to see if anyone had heard of or could create a theme where all the apps / widgets and such were transparent?
Any info would be appreciated and if someone could make one, I would definitely buy them a beer or 2
Thanks.
Avi
I second that!

They can make all the system apps transparent, but not 3rd party apps from the market, there are just too many to handle apps for each person.

This is right.. there is no way to make every market app transparent without doing it one by one.. but for just the basic stuff dreamsforgotten has a pretty clear theme called crystallized I think. You might wanna put in some requests for your most used apps... or they might be floating around some forums somewhere.
cd's or tapes?
There is a thread in the Android Hacking and Development forum that has a huge list of transparent apps. You can go to that forum and just do a search for transparent in the advanced search. I am running some of them now on my Epic and am liking it. It would be cool though to have all the proprietary phone screens and apps transparent too without any frills. For example, the Syndicate Frozen 1.02 (or substitute your favorite ROM here) with all the in phone stuff (non downloaded apps) transparent.
Again, if anyone could do that, it would be awesome.
Thanks.

Ahhh, well. No big deal. I won't complain.
I transparented as much as possible in a theme called froyo window. I even did the background for the system menus like in settings but realized how impractacle it was. The black background that I cleared also hid the status bar when you open apps such as camera, basically anything you opened the status bar was still there but since it was in the "background" you can't access it. If anyone wants to take that theme and play some more with it feel free. I never updated it past di18 but it wouldn't be hard to copy the framework values over to ec05. I'm not volunteering my time to it so don't take it that way lol.
Ok so i would of posted this in the development thread of the rom but I don't have 10 posts yet. Anyways I downloaded the rom but for whatever reason it comes with nova launcher instead of apex which I see in the video review. It's really not that big of a deal but I want the themed app draw button from the screen shots lol.
I cant figure out why I just have the regular app draw icon, is this because they changed it with the newer updates/versions?
I know this must seem very silly but its frustrating the hell out of me!
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Yes its because I changed from apex to nova launcher. I didn't even start to theme Nova since it now supports custom icons and custom icon packs. If you want I could send you the blue image that I used on v1.0 and you can place in your SD card and change it through the launcher.
