Question: Lockscreens

Hello all,
I have been searching for a while but couldn't find any specific info on this subject. I'm wondering if different lockscreens can be used on ROMs other than CyanogenMod. I use TheOfficial HTC ADP 1.6 DRC83 ROM, Can custom lockscreens like Stericson's be used? Thank you all Developers/ROM cookers for making all these awesome modifications to these phones possible. Please dont flame me, Im new to all this...
thanks all...
I am pretty sure the lockscreen has not been ported over to 1.6 yet. I know it is being worked on.
I know an unmodified services.jar from the 5a lockscreen will work with akirahs rom, but a modded services.jar will not go past the first splash screen.
Lockscreens can be added to any rom, provided you have the source for it's services.jar, however, as a simple "drop-in", no, it has to be designed for that rom because of specific dependencies between a rom's framework (though two roms based on the same framework should work as long as it's not been odexed). There's a way to do it, though, but it's a lot of work, you could have the services read off of an xml that you can store in your system folder (maybe etc) and toss your changes there. I'm working on..... .nevermind

Look great so far, maybe you can take somethings from juwe's rom, i just came from that rom and the theming was great but i like darky rom better. His contacts, GB keyboard looked awesome, maybe you can take a look.
Looking forward to this theme.

I think fekke just took those files as it contains exactly the same files as far as I can see, and has the same things not working yet, like the the 9 lockscreen Looks like he only added TW4.5 to it Of course correct me if I'm wrong here, just pointing out it already exists and soon Pele78 will release a new version (the original maker of BAT)

Havent seen this! The porting will go much easyer now As i saiod this will be an LITE version with TW 4.5 and SGS2 lockscreen (to begin with?) and ofc the black theme as in BAT with some small modifications. Screens will come up soon so you can see some differences between Blackening and BAT
This port is for S.U.R.F.A.C.E. v2.1 Rom. The .apk's are with diferent modifications and those things so ofc it wont work on Darky, thats wy i am porting it to Darky's rom so things will be right.

How can I chance the notifications screen to that one?

I want to change the notification screen to this one, is it possible? how can I do it?
Not sure I can see the identical screenshot, but there are very similar themes in JKay's theme mod thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154278
Or maybe try the uot kitchen?
http://uot.dakra.lt/
it is a screenshot from Steel Blue CM7 Theme for SGS2
how can I use this theme with my rom?
This is my baseband version: I9100TJJKF3
my kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9100TJJKG1
build number: GINGERBREAD.JJKG1
Oh right - you could have said so...
Seems like you need a custom ROM first - choose one then the installation seems pretty straightforward, all you need is in that thread (Steel Blue thread)
If it's your first time for a custom ROM, read, read, read and search
If I will flash the custom rom and then re-flesh to my rom the theme will be gone? I have to use the custom rom all the time for this theme?
Sorry, I'm not concentrating or reading enough myself
There are themes for stock firmwares there - see post#2 - but not yours (KF3).
So if you want this theme on stock firmware, you'll have to choose another stock ROM (KF2 for example).
Yes, if you reflash stock over a custom ROM you'll lose the theme.
If it's only the notification bar you want and nothing else, I'd try the uot kitchen if I were you. I've not tried it myself, but it seems user-friendly, supports stock ROMs and you can customise just about everything.
I dont know how to use the uot kitchen, can you please help me?
I want to change the notification screen and bar to solid black, like on the pic I posted
Sorry - as said, I've never used it, and I'm offline for the next few hours.
Hope someone else can help.
Decompile SystemUI.apk, browse to /res/drawables-hdpi/ and find the picture you want to change, replace it, compile it and switch the drawables-hdpi folder in the apk

can you please explain step by step how to do it?
I'm new to android. I know how to flash roms and kernels but that's it.....
As I'm sure Bruflot is well aware of, his "advice" is something that someone new to this shouldn't touch with a bargepole.. I'm still new enough not to try...
Just tried a quick go with the uot kitchen and it will do what you want, just play with it. The "generate preview" will help enormously. If I had time I'd do it for you, but screaming kiddies await me...

[UPDATED 4.8.2012][ROM] DeepBlue ROM for SGSII - XWLPO (4.0.4 ICS)

Here is long awaited DeepBlue ROM v. 0.28 for SGS2.
As you may know, first generation of DeepBlue Theme was based on various ROMs, every single release was based on at the time best ROM available (Darky's ROM, Ficeto's ROM, Ramad's ROM), so it is only logical that I am doing the same with my latest creation.
- latest Siyah Kernel 3.5.2
- AGPS Patch, for fastest GPS lock possible
- ICQ 5.1 smilies added to MMS and Talk apps
- Themed notification area
- Themed notification bar
- Google Apps updated
- Removed bloatware
- latest modem - if your connections drops or you can't connect to wifi or 3g, flash this
- tuned build.prop for maximal ROM speed
PS: If you are forum moderator, move this thread to appropriate section please. I have used my old thread in Theme thread...
To install:
1) Make sure that you have rooted phone.
2) Then place rom package on your SD card, and reboot to CWM.
3) In the CWM, select Install Zip from SD card, and confirm.
4) Let your phone reboot, once install process is finished.

Well, it may be, but are you reflashing your phone everytime new firmware comes out? I do not. I will choose one firmware version, and stay on it for example for two months, till I finally move forward...especially in my case, when I am using my phone as a work tool, hybrid between phone, notebook and gaming console, it is unthinkable to reflash every 14 days when samsung decides to release new firmware version. That does not mean that I will not make updates, it simply means, that I will update this theme little bit slowly, and only for chosen firmware version.
But you can port this to new firmware version, if you'll like. Otherwise, you'll have to wait till I have spare time for it :-D

Which version? I am pretty sure that it is compatible with whole KI4 firmware (Criskelo ROM), because it overwrites whole framework. So if you're running KI4 from Criskelo, then you are free and safe to test it.

Sorry, but main reason why I have chosen GalaxyBlue theme for my theme's base is, that it is using similiar, and in most cases identical pictures and graphics like I've used for my previous DeepBlue Theme for SGS1. So that blue android, transparency and so on are the same. Only thing I will think of, regarding future changes, are functional buttons for Wireless, BT, data, GPS and so on in the upper side of the pulldown menu.
The rest is exactly like I like it, and as it was in previous DeepBlue Theme versions.

Well, Steel Blue theme for SGS was original framework from which I have started
Because it's author never updated it, I have taken over...and I am still maintaining this theme from SGS to SGS2, and I have also released theme for SGS3 last week. I am glad you like it. It is not final version, so I may update it soon.

There is no reason for XWLPG, when XWLPO is almost the same...there are no important changes in it, compared to XWLPO.
For JKay, I may try, but give me a brake, I have just finished this one! It is time consuming, you know? all those pictures, all those xmls... I am changing ROM versions in my themes/roms only in cases when I want/need to update...So until I will be willing to update to for example JB, I will not change version of ROM...

[Q] [REQ][HOW TO?] How to theme a system app?

I just recently switched my stock rom to be deodexed and I'm now looking at the possibility of theming and mods for my rom.
I already have a little experience modding the signal icons on a different Android device, and I've already downloaded a mod from this forum that turns part of the stock dialer to a holo dark/material theme, but I want to do more with it.
So far I can't seem to find a good tutorial on how to properly mod system files, especially knowing that the stock rom on the Moto G is a Motorola variant of Android KitKat, and not AOSP or similar, although it's close enough that I figure some mods might work since many Xposed modules for AOSP work fine on my stock rom.
Would it be safe to look for a tutorial based on AOSP 4.4.4, or does anyone know a good place to learn the proper way to modify and theme a Motorola stock rom?

get apktool
with this decompile your apks you want to theme/mod
hapy theming! (there plenty of tutorials of how to edit images or the .9 patch files. with gimp etc.. just search )
after that recompile, if you just have edited some images (ressources) pull them afterwards from the new COMPILED apk out in a folder.
take the original apk & open with 7zip & pull the edited stuff into the right directions.
if you have done some advanced modification such as in values folder, you need after the new apk is compiled, open it with 7zip & pull from the original app the meta-inf folder into the new compiled one (singing) after tthat replace it on that phone
