Best screen I've ever seen (I've owned a galaxy s and iphone 4), probably the best battery on any android phone currently out, feels perfect, amazing camera (new and bigger sensor), and must faster/smoother than the dinc 1.
I'm very happy I purchased it and don't regret it one bit. It's an awesome phone for those who don't live in a 4g area. I honestly believe it's the best non 4g phone currently out, and I've owned a ton of phones.
Only thing I don't like is there is a TON of bloat apps
awesome..
thank you!
will report back later on today with my findings.
Pretty sure sense 3.0 requires dual core...
I have no idea why anyone would go from a Inc1 to an Inc2 with some of the phones that are about to hit the market.
I'm just gonna be patient
Though it is tempting.

Officialy yes it does require dual core. But it runs pretty smoothly on single cores like the thunderbolt and the desire hd g2/desirez and htc desire.

it does basically only differences are the radio and the radio incredible s=gsm and incredible 2=cdma world. And one more difference is that Incredible s=android 2.3.3 with htc sense 2.1 and Incredible 2= android 2.2.1 and htc sense 2.1 over it with no htc hub or htcsense.com
Let's be clear: The Incredible 2 is NOT dual core and is NOT LTE. It does have a bigger screen.

So I started out with the OG Droid then got the Droid 2 then traded with my wife for the Incredible solely for the custom roms. I have had an upgrade on my account for 6 months now and don't want to wait any longer for the Bionic. I have another line with an upgrade in November so I will get another phone in the fall.
As I see it my choices are Droid Incredible 2, Thunderbolt or Droid Charge. There is no 4G in my area or even close. Specs seems pretty similar to me between the phones. So what would you guys recommend for the best phone for the next 6 months or so.
Thanks for your input

The Inc2 while not a big upgrade from the original, does look pretty nice but in the next few months I imagine we'll be seeing some pretty nice phones coming out. 6 months is a long time in the tech world so who knows what will be available then. I personally would probably stick with HTC and other unlocked devices for development purposes. It would be great if we start seeing some other stock android devices on Verizon.

Agreed, loving HTC phones since my lil Eris
But yeah, I was really interested in the HTC Merge for a long time. IT was my dream phone when it first leaked. Now that they've scaled back on what its going to have (really only difference from the INC is the slider keyboard), I'm going to have to pass on it. I hear the guys in the T-Bolt forums are doing some amazing things with it.
If it were me...I'd wait. My INC has served me well, and I'd hate to get rid of it for anything that is going to be a minor upgrade.

Yeah. I'm back with another "Mission Impossible". I have an Android 1.6 MotoBlur rom that long back was ported to the HTC Magic. Link here >>>>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=569329<<<<<<
Now obviously you can see my goal. Get it working here, OR maybe even just parts of it. My original goal was just the MotoBlur launcher, but this seems to be the closest thing I can find possible. My current problem seems to be the framework, but I may be wrong. Anyone wish to help?
this is ancient but i might be able to help. you port from dsixda's kitchen yet?
Dear god, why would you want to poison this lovely device with Motorola's abomination?
I'm sure there are many Backflip/Flipout/Flipside/Bravo owners that would trade you and put cash on top to not own a device with Motoblur.
Well I plan on getting a Motorola atrix or HTC inspire. So I'd like to get a feel for motoblur. And I tried dsixda but I only tried with a 2.2 rom. This is 1.6.

+ 1 for the atrix... I just upgraded to a atrix from my little aria and I gotta say its got some balls.. They just did a stock release of gingerbread and they unlocked the bootloader so it'll be running cm7 in a month or less.
Between the dual core processor, the extra 512mb of memory and the oc kernel you can get not to mention the webtop doc and laptop shell that you can run a full blown copy of debian or gentoo on.. I think the sgs2 might be lagging behind a little (not to say that its laggy, just the atrix is pretty awesome.. although i might be a little bias ). I still miss my aria's size but the atrix is a beast!

Being a previous owner of a Sensation and Amaze 4G, there's not enough going on with the HTC One to make the jump. Besides, it's a dumb-down version of the One X.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a dumbed down version. The One S will have the new S4 Krait chip which though not quad core, handily beats the Tegra 3 (int'l One X) in recent bench markings.
Plus, it is built on 28nm process technology which will reduce power consumption.
I dont think ill be getting that phone their isnt enought new features on it for me to wanna upgrade from my S2 just yet,, also really dislike the fact their is no sd slot. I have also had the HTC sensation 4g and a Mytouch 4g slide. The One S just isnt different enough....

Hello all, I'm just curious to know what virgin mobile phone are you going to get after your wildfire s?
Sent from my HTC_A510c using xda premium
As of now, probably the EVO V 4G.
im thinkin the same thing
Although, now the LG Optimus Elite is looking pretty nice, too. I like the 3.5" and the NFC...
Yes! I was looking at that one, looks nice for $150
Sent from my HTC_A510c using xda premium
It's cheaper (even cheaper than my WFS!!) It's a hard decision to make. I really want ICS, but the LG Optimus Elite has NFC. Although, I won't be upgrading until about October anyway 'cause I'm gonna get a Nook Color soon.
Its a hard choice, I might save up some more cash and then buy the one V, Nook colors are sweet, I have one on ICS

Sweet! That's the reason I'm getting one. I hear it's easier to root than a lot of similar devices and ICS is really nice.
I think the V is more attractive in most ways, especially 4G (which I don't get where I live, but there are some cities fairly close with it) and ICS are pretty cool.
Yes your right, the nookcolor is very easy to root and install new roms (So easy a cave man can do it ) Ive had my nookcolor for about 4 months and i like it!
Ya 4g would be nice, hopefully the one V goes to virgin mobile, all we know is the evo 3d and lg optimus elite

Above all else, the screen. It's no One X screen, but light years beyond the WFS. It's beautiful.
ICS/Sense 4 is really slick. At this point I have no desire for CM9. It's that good.
At the moment I have 700mb free for apps. And I have several 10-50mb apps installed.
The GPS is unbelievable. It can find 8-9 satellites in my cement house where the WFS is blind.

That's my biggest hope. If the current ROMs don't work, it's not worth it. I fear that it will be a similar situation to the WFS though. The VM version will be slightly forgotten behind the Sprint version. While Sprint and VM are essentially the same, the leaked RUU has really boogered up some of the Sprint phones, which leads me to believe there is a big enough difference there, but maybe not.
Hopefully they'll all be shipped S-OFF, though!!
After this phone, I won't be continuing my service with VM. The reception and data speed already was ridiculous. But THEN we got the data cap. And THEN they decided if I wanted to upgrade my phone, I also had to forgo my 25$ a month bill.
So I get less for more? F**k virgin mobile. I have principles.

HTC's announcement for their newest phone is today (in a couple minutes, really). A video was posted as a preview, which you can watch here, but it isn't in English. It's a pretty good looking phone with some decent specs but overall I think HTC just makes some weird decisions. Calling this device the HTC One after they've already released HTC One X/S/V etc. Seems backwards to me.
Anybody possibly going to be moving to this phone after the Inc 2, or for those of you on newer phones like the DNA/Inc 4g will you be jumping ship this early? My upgrade is in July so I'll probably give it a shot but ultimately I think I will end up with the Galaxy S IV (a sure-fire for development down the road, and for straight spec-power) or potentially the rumored Motorola X.
Specs Quick Reference:
4.7" Full HD screen
Snapdragon 600 processor (Quad-Core)
2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage
2,300 mAh battery
4.1.2 Jelly Bean
My next phone will haveto have on screen keys. I was thinking the HTC One but now I'm just hoping the X-phone is real. I fear it'll probably have an amoled display though(not really a fan). I could get past it if everything else was in order.
