htc desire amoled unroot help! - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI, ALL i have an htc desire with AMOLED, can someone confirm this is safe to unroot with a generic rom, and which one would work for following radio.
i bricked a HTC magic before by installing a corrupt radio stack that wasnt compatible with hboot, so just scared of bricking desire as i have sold it on.

LOOKING TO GET THIS UNROOTED AND POSTED OUT AFTER HOLIDAYS
if any mods could help give me a link to a generic ruu compatible with radio and hboot and hopefully md5 checked that would be great.
there may be posts on this but just wantan experienced mod to confirm right ruu for unrooting
originally unrooted with unrevoked with goldcard thx

Well, the information you provided did not say if your phone is branded or unbranded.
If it is unbranded, then the generic WWE RUUs will work. (Latest - RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe)
This usually work for everyone not branded.
Here is the full list of ROMs : http://www.shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bravo/

sorry my fault it is an original generic 3uk handset, unbranded 1st 3uk batch

Hi just got my HTC Desire and would love to root it (only had experance with WM roms before) but would like to have an orignal ROM as a backup, I saw there is a thread with some orginal roms but don't know which one I need, any idea's?
Thanks in advance
Check sticky notes at top of dev forum, under RUU roms.

Then cross reference your radio and network provider, or WWE if you don't have a network. Sorry I am not sure about the bootloader side.
And always do nandroid backups from recovery, before flashing.
Would be no network as i've checked with a voda sim card and my phone works it's not 3 branded which i'm happ about
But did you buy it from 3?
Well anyway, that's the full list, with nearly all of them there, hope it helps.
Yep direct from 3 on upgrade lol but it's not branded

but i got Error[131]:CUSTOMER ID ERROR...
i downgrade with RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_T2_Radio_32.41.00.32U _4.08.00.09_release_137222_signed
then i got error = 140:BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR...
how to recover that htc desire?
If your phone was branded than you have to flash the same veraion you had. After that you need a goldcard to fladh any other untouched stock version.
Sent from outer space using Desire!!!

[Q] am i able to turn s-off on my wildfire

im a little confused would i be able to turn s-off on my wildfire ?
my phone details...
hboot-0.80.0002
radio-3.35.20.10
microp-0622
android version-2.2.1
baseband 12.55.55.24h_2.35.20.10
kernal 2.6.32.21
if i am able to turn s-off on my phone would you be nice enough to link me to the right page ?
thanks in advance !!
You will have to upgrade to an official Froyo build before you can get S-OFF. AlphaRev X supports only HBoot 1.01x devices. Not the older 0.80x devices. (Yet)
Use the WWE 2.22.405.1 RUU from Shipped ROM's, and after that, you should be good to go.
thanks for your help i shall be doing this shortly

What network are you on? Is your phone branded/sim locked?
If you are from Europe, you might be able to use the EU version.
Same problem, tried HTC EU. Didn't work asked to update?
I think you will have to have one of those exact ROMs or it won't work. So if it won't work and you don't have the standard HTC Europe ROM, you'll need to flash that ROM. See the sticky for a link to the post (upgrading to 2.3.5).
Sent from my Desire Z running CM7.

can i downgrade hboot
can i do s off?
thanks a lot
with goldcard flash RUU and start rooting process again...
thanks for the help but unfortunately it does not work :-(
by saying goldcard rru flash, you mean to create an goldcard
and with the card inside, to install the official rru.
i tried rru 1.12 and 2.29 and they failed :-(
any ideas?
Read the Thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794314 carefully and also the alpharev website http://alpharev.nl/. Hopefully u will get the answer.

No he won't. Alpharev or revolutionary don't support the new hboots, so you can't S-OFF, as far as I know there still isn't a way to downgrade, and you can't flash an older RUU since it won't let you. It was a stupid mistake of even using it in the first place.
so, there is no hope for me :-(
