I am trying to flash ARHD now, but halfway through it "stuck" in recovery and says: /tmp/recovery.log was copied to /sdcard/clockworkmod/recovery.log. please open ROM Manager to report the issue.
What happen here? =/
Recently I got a problem flashing 2.5.1.3(disappeared in ROM Manager, I do not know why) and 2.5.1.4 (it is in ROM Manager, but it says error in flashing). Only can flash those 3xxxx that is available.
Then I came about to flash 2.5.1.3 using the tool from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1003723 by replacing the 3.0.2.8 to 2.5.1.3.
Flashed 2.5.1.3 successfully. But in ROM Manager it still says current version I am still using is 3.0.0.6. But when I boot into recover, 2.5.1.3 has actually installed.
Any idea about the error?
This is a common issue when you manually change recoveries.
Go into Menu and press the "Manual Flash Override" button. Doesn't always show the exact version but is better than what you have. Mostly.
Hi Mr_JMM
Erm.. where is that menu from? ROM Manager? I did not see them there. =/
Press "menu" when in ROM Manager.
"menu" being the second touch sensitive button along the bottom.
Or do you mean that the "manual Flash Override" option is missing from the menu?
LOL. Yeap. The "Manual Flash Override" option. I do not see that option in ROM Manager.

So i'm having a few issues with ClockwordMod and/or ROM Manager
from within ROM Manager when I hit flash clockworkmod it'll download and give me confirmation of success, but I can't seem to launch it - is it supposed to automatically launch after I enter recovery mode? Was it supposed to change any menu entries after I hit volume up+power?
I ended up downloading clockwordmod as update.zip and running it from sdcard:update.zip
Additionally, Reboot into Recovery from ROM manager doesn't do anything. It asks if i'm sure, I say yes, then nothing happens. QuickBoot however has no problems rebooting straight into the recovery menu though, and I can also do it from ADB. Am I missing something obvious?

Flashing clockworkmod as an update.zip will do no changes to your current recovery.
If you want to replace your current phone's recovery with clockworkmod simply search for unrevoked on these forums.
I have the same problem, it is a bug with ROM manager, you have to give the app superuser permissions before clicking any of the options, so if you were to do this then on your first install of the app click on flash recovery (even if you have it), it will ask for superuser permissions, grant them it and the app will then work fine.
ahh it'd be good if it told you that
next I went into it and went to install superuser but of course you need to have superuser to do that :|
But i'm there now, thanks for your help
I installed HTC Sync then, unistalled (keeping the drivers).
I installed the HBOOT modified drivers in device manager. it now says:
"Android device"
|
"My HTC"
I ran unrevoked3, successful, done. I did one click only and let it run.
I then downloaded Wildpuzzle 2.2 froyo (kept it zipped copied it to SDcard).
I powered down phone then pressed volDown and power together to go to boot menu.
my boot menu looks different to that of a video I saw:
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
CLEAR STORAGE
SIMLOCK
shouldn't it look like this?:
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
CLEAR STORAGE
SIMLOCK
HBOOT USB
note- it doesn't make a difference if my wildfire is plugged in to the pc, or if I'm running unrevoked at this point.
I wait for the update scan check thing, then I go down one to RECOVERY (If I'm running unrevoked at this point communication is lost) this takes me to ClockworkMod Recovery v (black screen, green text).
I choose "-wipe data/factory re" then "-install zip from sdc" choose my zip blaa blaa...
I see the install bar and it does it in a second, completed.
- reboot system now
I wait till phone is ready (have a sandwich very nice)
check menu/settings/about phone/software information.... still says:
Firmware version
2.1-update 1
Ahhhhhhhhh
I keep trying for three days different roms, typing here is last resort by papa roach!
HOW . DO . THIS . ?
edit your post and add a title.. please be more observant..
I hope you are not selecting the update.zip under the sdcard which might be the clockworkmod recovery image (rom manager based recovery installation keeps it there). Since clockworkmod recovery has that as an option above the zip file selection, it is a possibility (especially based on the sped of the update)

Hi all, recently i am unable to start clockwork mod via the power botton/volume down combination, plus when i try to install a zip from sd card it always says zip not found even if i can see it throu rom manager.
Any help?
Thanks
You could flash the recovery again. It may of messed up a little. Flash it through fastboot or if your not s-off, flash it through terminal emulator.
You could try diablick Quickstart (or Quickboot. don't know what it's called in english settings menu right now..). Have read about similar problems in the ReflexS thread and this was a possible solution:
Go to Settings > Power >
Uncheck "Quickstart" at the very bottom of the menu.
Maybe that helps
Hi all,
Today i was trying to flash the radio for my HTC wildfire
version: 13.55.55.2424H_3.35.20.10 (same as the one on my phone now)
What i have done:
1-renamed the radio to update.zip and put it on SD root
2- booted in recovery mode (CWM 4.0.1)
3- chosen install zip from sd card
but i got this message:
Installing update..
Amend scripting ( update.script) is no longer supported.
( some sentences including CWM 3 and ginger bread) don't remember them exactly
Installation aborted.
I rebooted phone and thanks to God it's working OK, communications OK.
What i have done wrong?
help will be appreciated
thanks in advance.
It needs Clockworkmod Recovery 2.x. So, you can get that from within ROM Manager App.
- Open ROM Manager
- Select Install Clockworkmod Recovery
- This will install v2.5.0.7 on your SDCard (It wont touch your v4.x)
- Then select Reboot into Recovery from within ROM Manager.
- This will start Clockworkmod 2.6.0.7, then flash the radio as normal.
Alternatively, get this attachment:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=662193&d=1311319218
Flash in in Clockworkmod 4.0.1, it will give you temporary 2.5.0.7, then proceed as normal.
Thanks a lot 3xeno
i have done the first on and it worked
but
when i installed the updat.zip
some lines was showed but it was very quick i couldn't read them
but the process took about 5 seconds or maybe less
is that normal??
how can i know that i have flashed the radio succefuly?
the phone is working OK.
Yes, its normal. When you follow the second procedure, it gives you temporary 2.5.0.7.
I hope you followed only one of the procedures though. (Either go via the ROM Manager App way, or go via the update1.zip way, not both)
When you flash a Radio, it says "The Radio will install on Reboot". Then, you select "Reboot System Now" in Clockworkmod, and it will reboot your phone, and it will state "Writing Radio Image". This process takes some time, after which your phone reboots again and starts normally. When this happens, you can be sure you have reflashed the radio properly.
i followed the first
i have reeboted into CWM 2.5 ( green color)
then i flash the update.zip by install zip from sd card
it shows quick lines
and i don't see this "The Radio will install on Reboot"
the back to recovery menu
i choose reboot system now
the phone reboot as normal without this "Writing Radio Image"
any thing am missing?
Don't flash the update.zip in Clockworkmod 2.5.0.7 (Green Text). The update.zip is an alternative to be flashed in Clockworkmod 3.x/4.x (Orange text) which will reboot your system in Clockworkmod 2.5.0.7. (ie - It is to be used only if you didn't use the ROM Manager method. Since you have installed Clockworkmod 2.5 using ROM Manager, you can delete the update.zip, you no longer need it)
Once you get to Clockworkmod 2.5.0.7, Flash the Radio's Zip using the same procedure. (Install Zip from SDCard > Select Radio Zip file). To reiterate, theres no need for update.zip once you are in Clockworkmod 2.5
Thanks a million 3xeno
flashed the radio Successfully
what i was doing wrong that i have renamed the radio zip file to update.zip
method that i have done for anybody hwo wants to do that (thanks to 3xeno):
1- put the radio file as it is on SD root (don't change the name of zip file)
2- go to rom manger and choose flash clockworkmod recovery
3- from rom manger choose reboot into recovery
(will reboot in CWM 2.5) green text
4- choose install zip from sd card
5- press go back (back button won't work) go to the bottom of menu and you will find the ++back++
6- choose reboot system now and wait til it finish.
I don't think changing of filename from radio.zip to update.zip will affect installation of radio (as long as you haven't extracted the zip).
But what happened is (I guess) ---
You are changing the radio.zip to update.zip and kept it at the root of sdcard. Then if you open Rom manager and flash recovery, the update.zip related to radio will be overwritten by cwm2.x update.zip . And vice versa if you have flashed Rom manager cwm2.x first and then copied radio update.zip to root of sdcard.
So basically one of the needed things are missing ( = being overwritten) which interfere with the process. Anyway nice that you made it.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
I dowloaded ROM Manager from the market and used the Flash ClockworkMod Recovery option to upgrade to the latest verion of CWM.
From the ROM Manager application it says the current verion is 3.0.0.8 but when I reboot into recovery the phone still says v2.5.1.2. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

in ROM manager hit Menu >> Settings and check the box for Erase Recovery. This will erase your current recovery before flashing the new one to give you a clean flash.
Then just hit Flash ClockworkMod Recovery. It should attempt to flash it again.
Okay I did that and it didn't work so I cleared the download cache from the menu setting and tried again. It appeard to work but when I reboot into recovery my phone still says it is on v.2.5.1.2
Maybe this is a sign I should just leave my phone alone for a while. lol
Just manually flash it. ROM Manager was doing that to me too. I hate using ROM Manager... lol. I flash stuff manually myself because then I know is going on.

For AMOLED: use 3.0.0.7 (some have reported problems with 3.0.0.8 on AMOLED).
For SLCD: use 3.0.0.8
Rename the zip you download to "PB31IMG" (without quotes) and put it on the root of your SD card. Boot to HBoot and flash the update when prompted (by pressing Vol Up).
Don't forget to delete the zip after it successfully updates. To add onto CarngeX, the zip should be named: PB31IMG.zip
Okay thanks. I had never even tried ROM Manager for anything else. I always load ROM's manually but I thought it would be way more complicated to update than you showed me. It's all good now. Thanks again.

Reason I just said "name it to PB31IMG" is because a lot of times people have file extensions hidden, and they end up naming it to "PB31IMG.zip.zip" and it causes more problems lol.

I'm just curious, I've updated my cwm to 3.0.0.7 already through rom manager, but I had previous tried doing it like this through recovery using a .zip. When it prompts for the update, is it just passive? Like you enter hboot and then wait until it asks if you want to upgrade?

When you boot to HBoot, it should check for a PB31IMG.zip file on your card. If it finds one, it'll ask if you would like to update or not.

I guess I didn't package it right since I would see it scan for it (quickly, so I couldn't see what it was saying exactly), but it didn't offer me any option to update afterwards. Thanks.
Then it's probably not named correctly (needs to be exactly PB31IMG.zip, check for hidden extensions), or your SD card isn't formatted to fat32.

Thanks, I think it's the formatting issue; I'll try again soon.
