Hi guys,
Would like to find out if anyone using otterbox commuter for Atrix...did the screen protector film cover the whole screen. I got mine but when i start from the bottom, it can only reached to half of the Motorola wording.
Thank you.
Same here.. Naturally I screwed up when applying the screen protector, but while I was attempting to push out the bubbles I noticed it seemed a little short.
thanx for confirming......it looks a bit odd when you take out the case and the screen protector falls short by a quarter inch......
No, it does not. But it covers enough when you have the case on. Bummer, but that's why I got a ZAGG too.
I put on an invisible shield then the commuter. The best way to go!
I bought the Otterbox Defender series. Came with hard plastic case that has built in screen protector, and a soft gel skin, as well as a belt clip. Anyone interested - look at Abe's of Maine. It should be under $30 before shipping and handling. I can't post the link here, but if you google abes of maine otterbox defender atrix 4g it should be the first link.

I know there are probably a million threads like this, but I am specifically looking for a case with a screen protector built in. Also, I want something thats not very costly, but still works well. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
sooooooo, i need an answer please.
I haven't seen a case with a screen protector for captivate. Most the time they aren't very nice either. And I'm guessing you want that because you don't want bubbles on the screen if you mess up?
I find that when you apply the screen protector you self it is better protection + the seidio case is very nice.
Sorry if this doesn't help.
I purchased the otterbox defender thinking that it had a built in screen protector like most other defender series cases but the screen protector was very easy to apply with no air bubbles whatsoever, the case is alittle on the expensive side but it was a great purchase!
An otter box would be your best bet by far. You will have to apply the screen protector but honestly its a fairly easy job. Not to mention the fact that it'll make your phone indestructible with a life time warranty on the case itself that Otter Box is famous for honouring.
I have the Otterbox Commuter. I love it. The defender was a bit too pricey and too large for my tastes. It has saved my phone before; I dropped it when getting out of the car and the corner of the case took the bullet.

+1 for the commuter. I think its the best overall case out there for the captivate.
buy the otterbox defender case and put the screen protector yourself. After a few tries it get easier...
If you buy, don't buy the anti-fingerprint one, it will be blur and there will be bad coloring.
Case-Mate "Pop" case or "Tough Case?"(& do they come with a screen protector ?
Simple questions here:
What is the diff b/w a Pop Case and a Tough Case? Will the Pop case protect the Nexus if it falls on the ground as well as the Tough Case?
case-mate always includes a screen protector....is there one included with these cases??
bump...anyone?

They have stopped including the screen protector or at least it was not included with the tough case.
The pop has a less nice 'feel' to it for my tastes, so I would recommend the tough between the two.
I definitely didn't get a screen protector with my tough case but I bought an sgp flex and the edges of the screen protector are nicely covered by the case.

I didn't get a screen protector with my toughcase. I have a Zagg though, but I'm a little annoyed that the silicone part of the toughcase has the tendency to push at the edge of the Zagg at the bottom corners. I guess this is because the Zagg doesn't fit completely from edge to edge. I got it centered as best I could and I consider myself decently skilled at applying these things. Oh and the toughcase silicone is a dust magnet.
Hey guys,
About 3 weeks ago I ordered an XO Skins screen protector for my phone. I was looking for a good wet apply protector that was "case fit", which would allow me to continue using my Diztronic TPU case. After letting the protector sit on my night stand for over 2 weeks I finally decided to install it last night. The install went just fine. However, upon installing it and letting it dry over night, it became very obvious that this is definitely NOT the "case fit" version. The protector goes pretty much edge to edge all the way around the phone. Because of this I am very nervous to put my Diztronic TPU case back on in fear that it will lift the edges of the protector.
In an attempt to avoid getting a replacement screen protector, I want to see if anyone here successfully uses the Diztronic (or similar) TPU case, which wraps over the edges of the phone, with the edge to edge XO skins protector.

Thanks for any feedback.
....
On a side note, I should mention that I had this exact same thing happen when I ordered a "case fit" protector from XO skins for my Galaxy Nexus. They sent me the full coverage one. Luckily the case for my Nexus accommodated the full coverage version. Overall, I am not pleased with their inability to send the product I ordered from them 2 times in a row now.

nope. i had the full xo skins on when i bought a diztronic. it peals the corners. sorry. cant really use any TPUs with full protectors like that.
one of the reasons i like the seidio active so much is that you get that nice protection around all the edges of the screen, but its not tight so it doesnt peal up full protectors.

Damn. That's what I thought. I guess now I have to decide if I should request that they send the correct protector I ordered or just keep using my backup case (Spigen Modello) since it doesn't interfere with the protector.
hi guys
i have been comparing these two products for a quite some time and i cannot give my final decision to which product should i buy. i am looking for a case that has a front face cover. and i found the ballistic maxx and otterbox defender. but what makes me think twice between these product is the comes with screen protector. these protector is quite think and most likely it will ruin the colors of my S3's screen. i have seen it in some product reviews posted by youtube users. the screen becomes glary. and the second thing that makes me think twice is, if i remove the screen protector, will my S3 shake around inside the case if i dont use the screen protector?
i tried contacting the customer support of otterbox they said they cannot answer my concern. and for ballistic they told me i can still use the case even if i dont use the screen protector, but i still do not understand what they really meant. and they did not gave me a straight answer to my question on what will really happen if i did not use their product's screen protector.
now i would like to ask your personal opinion about these two products, which is better? and if you guys did not use the comes with screen protector will your S3 shake around inside the case? and lastly i am just looking for a case that has a front cover. i dont really like the flip cover cases.
thanks
From what I read about the defender taking out the screen protector does not affect the snugg-ness of the phone and case.
I have the trident kraken that came with a removable screen protector, that I decided but to use.
Sent from Pluto.
I know how you feel, i looked at both those cases and went with the Trident Kraken. Provides the same level of protection and the kickstand is a bonus. Second choice would be the otterbox.

I personally hated the otter box, sold it as soon as I got the chance. I kept the maxx and it's the case I go for when I need a holster.
I took the screen protector off of my defender with no fit issues. I stopped using it because it squeeks so much. When you hold the phone. This may be due to extra flexing from the removed screen protector as it is rigid and glued in.
The otterbox is an awesome case, the only thing I hate is that the outer silicone layer always stretches out. The defender for my GS3 streched out after 2 months...

I think it's just the case in general. My screen protector is still in tact and it squeaks like no other.
I'm tempted to get a new case, but can't decide. I've narrowed it down to the SG MAXX, Commuter, Kraken, PX260, and the Dualtek.

I got the dualtek case yesterday, it's a really nice case. I just wish there was a compatible holster for it.

I have both cases mentioned in OP. The included screen covers are garbage. Make the screen look like crap plus particles such as sand, dirt (I am in construction field) and so on can get behind protector and scratch screen.
Standard zagg and otterbox working well for me. Zagg HD seemed to thin and marked up easy om my pocket. Otter box laps over the edge of the zagg, which so far has kept the edge from peeling on me which is a common problem for me and my use.
Ballastic has great rubber corners for drop protection but the otter box is easier to slip in and out of pocket and my preferred case.

I also have both cases described in OP and have to agree to a point, the screen protectors make the screen look terrible. I went with the Ballistic for a couple reasons. 1. The Ballistic seems to slide in and out of my pocket easier (probably because it has more smooth surface than the Defender). 2. The belt clip seems more comfortable to me. The Defender belt clip seemed to sit higher on me which would gouge my hip. Not cool. 3. I got the Defender used when I bought my phone and the rubber on it seems a little loose. I don't think this will happen with the Ballistic mainly because my wife has one on her Note and it's help up extremly well. 3. I got my Ballistic Maxx on ebay for $30 in the color I wanted and I thought that was a good price. Now I need to ditch this screen protector and get a nice one.
I too have both cases. I did/don't use any of the screen protectors that came with it. As for OP, it really depends what you're trying to get out of it. What's your average day like? do you work in an office? go to school? work in construction? I am a process engineer and i'm in and out of food plants and i pull my phone out to snap pictures at least 4 times a day on a daily basis for an hour or so. With that being said I NEED the protection because I have dropped it a few times. I'm currently using the Ballastic without the clip, i just hold it in my pocket. The otterbox is a bit bulkier for me and it slips easy (from hand and in and out of pocket). The ballistic on the other hand, doesn't. It gives you good grip, and isn't a pain for me to pull out of my pockets (i wear dickies for work and rvca romero ii jeans when i'm out and about or jordan basketball shorts when i feel like bumming it). I like the grip because it doesn't slip out of my pockets easily when i wear basketball shorts as the ottorbox did. HOWEVER, be warned that it does pull lint easily. It's not alot where you'll get a hairball when you pull it out of your pockets but it is there. Overall, I'm sticking with the ballastic because it offers great drop protection (as does the OB), but with the corners I personally feel it's more secure and it's not as bulky as people say it is. I'll post up pictures when i get the chance.
Hello, as title suggests, I have an Otterbox Defender. Love it and do not want to switch cases. However, the original protector that came with the S10+ was just so plastic feeling. I would love tempered glass but I did go the expensive route and did Whitestone. Once it was applied, cured, and set for hours, I put my case on and bam, cracks from tension on the bottom and top of the phone.
DId a warranty claim and same thing on the replacement. Are there any GOOD glass protectors out there that work with the Otterbox Defender? Or I would even go with a highly recommended screen protector of any kind that feels "Good" and is able to work with the case.
Thanks guys.
Check Amazon, I saw a few on there. I got one of those glass hybrid screen protectors on my S10+ here with my otter box case and it works good with it. Not sure if I have the defender or the commuter case because I forgot what the box said.
There's also some Chinese made glass screen protectors out there that are decent and work with cases as I have one on my S10, but no otter box case on it.
I wish there were ones that didnt have black on the edges and around the cameras. stupid zagg. makes goodlock USELESS
