The battery cover is a real pain to get off, so it is "tighter" in that respect
Has a different version of Sense than the Inc. The phone says it's version 2.00.0000.339629. Has some UI differences, some new widgets, and more power settings (it has an auto power saver and a fast boot option that prevents apps from auto launching it looks like).
It seems a little more responsive than the Inc, but not amazingly so
The gallery does look different, you get a tiled view of all the photos, tapping on any of them makes it full screen, and swiping keeps it full screen. But I don't have a lot of experience with the Inc gallery
The screen has a LOT of glare. Like, a LOT of glare.

Do you feel as though it is a substantial upgrade over the original Inc, or pretty minor rework? Hows it feel in terms of build quality? I wish I could think of more things to ask lol... CAN YOU COME UP WITH A ROOT EXPLOIT IN THAT HOUR? Lol jk.

there's plenty of pics out there, I don't have a camera handy
It looks a lot more like a bigger Evo Shift without a keyboard than a bigger Incredible

Buils quality feels about the same, it has that cheap platic frame around the top like the evo shift does, but the same rubberized back as the Inc.
Pulling down the notifications shows a lit of recently launches apps horizontally
And the KB has arrow keys now

Other notes
The power button in on the opposite side on the top.
The power adapter you get is a lot bigger and bulkier than the Inc one
The back is flatter than the Inc, it only has one plateau. It's rubberized like the Inc
The battery is only 1450ma

Can we get some stock comparison pics between the two?
Is the form factor better, worse, same?

Like I said, I don't have a camera handy.
As comparisons go, it looks like a bigger shift, in that it has the rounded edges on top and the longer speaker bar on top. It looks cheaper since the glass does not go to the edge of the phone, so you see more plastic.
When you connect it with the USB cable you hve new options, Internet Connection Modem Media Sync, and Internet pass through
The screen has WAY more glare than even the Inc SLCD's, and is MUCH harsher to look at than the AMOLED screens.

it also doesn't say "menu" anymore on the phone, it's three horizontal lines

Pics for proof. Also if I am correct you are the one who gets headaches from super lcd screens... That phone has one...

It's also got a dumb down version of sense 2.0 like the thunderbolt huh, with all the vcast/verizon bloatware. Saw from the androidcental hands on thy posted today. You should compare it with the old inc with some pictures? Thanks. I'll maybe wait for the Inc 3 next year or something.

You are talking very bad about the screen when a lot of reviews say the new SLCD looks much better than the inc amoled. I'm confused.
But anyway, how is the speaker?

Is there an led notification light?

It has the same little dot that lights up when plugged in on the Inc, but it is a lot brighter.

I am very senstive to screens, but the screen is MUCH harsher to look at than the Inc's AMOLED, even worse than the SLCD on the newer Inc's and the Shift. If you are at all sensitive to glare, this thing will kill you. Even with a matte screen protector it was giving me problems.
Didn't have a chance to make a call, however, the reception was no better than my Inc. In my building my Inc often drops to 1X from 3G, and the Inc2 did the exact same thing at the exact same places. So I wouldn't expect any difference in reception.
It really doesn't feel like an Incredible 2, it feels and looks much more like a keyboardless Evo Shift. The hardware design looks a lot cheaper.

It is the inc s. It's the same thing from what I understand the s was only in Europe.

I think I'm gonna just judge from myself everywhere I've read the screen is on par if not better than the original also after several requests for pics none produced. I'm not calling you out, but I think I'll just see for myself tomorrow.

Things i hate about the HTC Desire

I really miss a few features on my HTC Hero. Sadly it seems like the Hero was much more userfriendly when it comes to hardware design choices.
1. PenTile Matrix Display freaks me out. I can see the rough edges very easily. Makes my eyes having problems with focusing because the edges seem blurry. I have read a lot about this problem prior to getting an Desire so i shouldn't complain. Still it's much more visible than some people try to make it sound. Especially in white text/ black background.
2. Hardware Buttons: Call Buttons...yeah everybody can see that the Desire doesn't have those, and that's not my main gripe. My MAIN problem is that i can't wake this damn screen with ANY other button than the POWER Button, which happens to be positioned at the most uncomfortable position available. It was so much more user friendly on the Hero where i can wake and unlock the screen by two hardware buttons at the bottom.
3. Android Market is SLOW: Why is the Android market like 500 times slower to start a download than my old hero?
4. trackpad: the trackwheel for the hero was more precise.
5. color saturation. welcome to the candy land! Reds and orange colors burn into your eyes. some people like that.
6. it killed my microsd card...well ok i don't know if this is the desires fault but still: suddenly my sd card was shown as faulty. On the PC is works without any problems, but i had to format it in order to use it with the desire.
Of course there are some good things too, like the speed. The desire is really fast, but not THAT much faster than the Milestone. And the overall built quality is great.
Everything you mention is why I LOVE my Desire - vibrant colours, awesome screen, optical pad instead of ball which only ends up breaking/getting clogged with dust...can't fault it IMO (except the Market, it is a bit slow but meh)
according to your point nr 6. did you always safety remove it after plugging in to the PC ?
well i'm sort of used with the "power button to wake the device" since i had a winmo device before the desire, so i don't really see it as a bad thing

i'm using windows 7 64bit and never did that, my sd card was show as faulty once so i powered off the phone took out the card, putted in my pc and saw that everything was working fine, putted it again in the phone and never had a problem again.

awesome screen? Have you seen the Motorola Droid live?
About the colors, they are not reproduced correctly as many tests have proven. But i already said that this is also a personal preference.
But the bad resolution quality (comapred to the droid) of the PenTile Matrix display is not a matter of preference, because nobody would prefer the PenTile concept compared to the usual RGB per Pixel approach.

no, and actually i believe this was the problem. I only unmounted the sd card using the desire/hero, but never ejected the card on windows prior to that. Just recently i found out that i have to eject the card via windows before unmounting it.

You say I shouldn't complain... then don't I don't have any problems with my eyes.
#2
Why would you need call buttons? My screen turns on as soon as I pull it from my ear (proximity sensor) quite easy to touch the big red bar then isn't it?
#3
My market doesn't appear to be any slower, and download is only improved, I have a 20 mbit connection and with my hero on wifi I would max get 500kb/s
The desire reaches full connection speed @ 1500kb/s so download from market is a lot faster.
#4
More precise but it got dirty very quick, mine even changed color from white to yellowish (maybe I should stop smoking) but not only nicotine sticks to it. Everything sticks to it.

I've not seen the Droid, nor do I want to. Motorola phones are some of the WORST I've ever had the pleasure (or not) to use. I've no issues with the Desire's screen and bar the slight pink issue I can't fault it.
As said, this is all personal opinion but putting a thread about why you hate a device in the forum where people who love it frequent is asking to get flamed!!

He only hates a few parts of it, not the whole thing, what's wrong with that?
I agree on most points, though this is my first android phone. The first thing I noticed when I turned it on was the jagged line thing because of the pentile display, its no way near as nice looking as a display should be with that ppi. It kind of defeats the point of a hi res screen.
But other than that and the fact that sense sucks compared to stock ui, I love this phone
I must either not have this jagged line or not noticed it but I have no idea what you're on about!

lol you will have it as it's impossible to not. Its easiest to notice on the edge of each key on the keyboard. You can quite clearly see the individual pixels, which you shouldn't really see on a high res screen

your eyes probably don't notice it, which is actually very good in this case.
Sadly my eagle eyes can see it very clearly. I just have to wait a few year, then i won't see the problems either.
But believe me the Motorola Milestone Display is just better by a huge margin. I had a testdevice for my blog for about 2 months, and the display is fantastic.
samac92 is completely right, when he says that the pentile technology defeats the point of having a (pseudo) WVGA resolution. If you ever have the chance to compare the Motorola droid vs. Desire display, do it. The difference is huge, because the droid has real WVGA resolution as every pixel has RGB color informations, while pentile pixel only have two color informations per pixel.
I've got perfect 20/20 vision, I just probably haven't looked close enough tbh - a slightly jagged keyboard really doesn't bother me. Coming from the HD2 with it's huge (but washed out) screen this is a god send and easily the best phone I've had...and I've had a lot!!
No doubt something else will come out in future but for now I honestly have no issues with the Desire. If I did I'd be rid of it
Plus, the Milestone is a HORRID looking phone...nothing new there, eh Moto??
#1: i was hoping that the pentile problem wasn't as bad. But sadly it is quite bad indeed.
#2 i don't need call buttons at any cost, i need hardware buttons at the bottom of the device (don't care if its a call button or any other button) which can wake up the screen, and put it so sleep mode. I don't want to reach out to the power button every time, as this is not a natural movement when holding the device with one hand.
Also redialing using the "start call" button was very comfortable as you would directly open the dialer app. It's quicker than having to use a shortcut app on the homescreen imho.
#3 not the download itself is slower. but the time that passes until the download starts. There are time where i have to wait for 3-4 minutes until the download starts. Having a good downstream is great, but on my hero i have the app installed before the download starts on the desire on some occasions.

you are right, the HD2 was somehow blurry and washed out.
The sad thing is that i don't have to look close to see the rough edges on the desire display. i can see it very easily.
But you really miss out on the milestone display, you don't have to wait for future devices to blow out the desires display out of the water. After seeing that milestone magic, the desire display is just no contest anymore. I would have opted for the milestone, but other than the display the desire just has much better hardware specs like RAM and CPU. i also like sense.
And the milestone doesn't have the new launcher style of the N1 after the 2.1 update, but still the plain old boring android 1.x launcher.
I wouldn't be caught dead with the Milestone - every review I've read has said it's crap and a screen just isn't enough to have a phone I'm afraid...
Desire FTW!!

hmm very interesting as nearly all known media like engadget and gizmodo as well as all big media in germany really praised this device.
I praised it on my blog review too. And i'm definetly not preferring motorola usually. I'm a HTC fan starting from MDA Compact (HTC Magician) days a decade ago.
The Milestone was the first real killer Android device which sold some impressing numbers. Of course the HTC Hero wasn't bad either, but it didn't have the impact that the droid/milestine had.
Well I've just looked long and hard at the keyboard and I can't see any individual pixels.
But I am 40, so that might be another benefit of getting older.
It was the very first thing I noticed on the Desire, even though it took me a while to find what it was. I don't think good or bad eyesight has anything to do with us noticing or not noticing the PenTile issue. I also see issues on HD tv's and expensive HD Projectors, that no one else sees. And no, my vision is far from perfect. I don't wear glasses, but other than that, my sight is average at the most. So I guess it has to do with how your brain process the visual input. Oh, and I am over 40 too
3. Android Market is SLOW: Why is the Android market like 500 times slower to start a download than my old hero?
Download appbrain from the market then you can use the appbrain.com site for apps then sync to your phone from your pc.
That site is faster to use than the market place

[Q] newbee looking for android phone

hi all im a new bee to android and i am looking at 2 phones the vibrant and the g2 i do like the vibrant because of the screen you can see it well in the sunlight not sure about the g2 yet has anyone used in bright sunlight? Here is my problem i need animated weather maps for my job i know the vibrant only has 2.1 now is there any walk around to get weather maps to animate on 2.1 or should i look at the g2 please i need some help. your suggestions would greatly help
thanks in advance
AMOLEDs are known for poor readability in bright light. SAMOLED helps, but it's still not as good as a decent LCD AFAIK.
Go with the G2.
I had the phone in direct sunlight yesterday and it was clear to me. Way better than my old hd2.

Maybe you missed the "AFAIK" in the post. Try re-reading before getting sand in your v-giny.
http://www.androidcentral.com/screen-technology-showdown-amoled-vs-lcd-vs-samoled-direct-sunlight
The difference isn't that amazing.
These are the resaons why I choose not to get the Vibrant:
1. The housing of the case is made of cheap, painted plastic. it flakes and chips easily and I was concerned the phone would not last 2 years.
2. The Samsung UI was not user replacable without rooting the phone. I should not have to root my damn phone in order to get the UI expierence that works best for me.
As for the G2, I am on the fence about keeping it or not. Some issues are coming to light that are quickly adding to the "I don't like list". Among these:
1. the Keyboard design maybe less durable that I thought.
2. Battery life is borderline on what I find acceptable. This may be solvable, but I don't know yet.
3. the phone is thicker than I thought I could live with.
4. The volumn control is easily hit while using the keyboard.
5. The screen is harder to see in direct sunlight than the myTouch 3G I have owned for the past year.
6. T-Mobile _may_ have instrumented some hardware to interfere with might right to use the device as I see fit.
7. Though not strictly the phone, I have yet to see > 4Mpbs sustained in the Redmond/Seattle areas.
8. I am having a hard time hearing callers by naturally holding the phone to my ear. I find that I need to move the ear grill around my ear to keep a consistent, understandable volumn.
What I like about the G2:
1. Screen size is perfect and indoors, is really nice.
2. Though a little thick, the width and hight of the phone make it easier to handle than the myTouch 3G.
3. Though I may find issue with the durability, the design for expsoing they keyboard is nice.
4. Android 2.2 is very fast on the hardware and the UI expierence is a joy to use.
5. Andriod 2.2, in general, is much more polished than in 1.6 found on the myTouch 3G.
6. Tethering via USB with PDAnet continues to work well for my limited needs.
7. The camera, for a cell phone camera, takes great pics. I was able to get night pics the myTouch can't take and my Canon SD940 has trouble with without fiddling with it.
8. Email and data access are just simple much easier.
9. The dialapp is much better than Andiord 1.6. No lag and no werid defaults.
thanks for the quick responses if anyone else has anything to say it woud be great
Engadget says "If you're looking for a top-tier Android player with little in the way of compromises, look no further. The G2 has arrived." Don't get me wrong SAMOLED looks brilliant that SLCD isn't too bad. But in the long run, software is what matters and thats why I feel the G2 is > then the Vibrant.

Ehh, the software is important but so is the hardware to run it. I think the G2 is a very capable phone that's going to last a long while and receive many software updates. I had my G1 since the day it came out until yesterday... mostly due to the big developer base keeping it current with new hacks and features. I hope the G2 gets perma-rooted and goes the same way as the G1. Even if it doesn't, this is an incredibly fast, solid phone - hardware and software-wise. IMO.

[Q] Anyone hoping there's an Incredible 2?

I think the thunderbolt is pretty bad ass... but i came from a Droid X back to the Incredible just because the 3.7 screen size, thinness, and trackball just makes for a better device for me at least.
Anyone hoping HTC and Verizon release an Incredible2 with the same or slightly thinner size and upgraded specs (LTE, dual core, higher screen res.. etc) to go along side the bigger Thunderbolt?
I would love something like that. An even more refined version of this phone. It's sleek already, but as with all tech devices, will age rather quickly. Sometimes I think these 4+ inch screens are too big, the Inc is a great size. Inc2 should also have a front facing camera in addition to what you said (LTE, dual core, higher res screen). It would be my next phone without a doubt

Yeah I had an X for a while and finally went back to the incredible for just that reason. the added bulk outweighs the benefits of the bigger screen. The incredible is just such a sweet feeling phone in the hand it just feels like a super modern device.. not a mini tablet.
I have a fascinate i'm playing with now and it is definitely more sleek than the X but i havent activated it for a few reason. its still fatter and taller than the incredible, although thinner. and samsung hasnt released froyo for it.
the build quality on the incredible is also on par with the best smartphones. the buttons click firmly, soft touch back. nice red accents and the battery cover doesnt slide of so easily like moto devices.
I'll probably stick with the incredible line for a while if they keep it alive.
See, the beauty of the larger phones is that they have LCD screen types... which not only makes daytime sight easier, but you can use an app to change the LCD density, thus increasing your resolution. It's not a massive view change, but it certainly does make a difference when you think about how big that screen will be. Every little bit counts.

i'm pretty sure the Thunderbolt has the same SLCD technology that my Incredible has other than size obviously. and while you can change the LCD density with an app... it makes some apps not render correctly.
thunderbolt= undervolt
I say undervolt because i cant beleive we will not get our dinc 2 the way it should have been. hdmi out is fairly standard on top end devices.. not undervolt.. we all like our smaller dincs or we would get evo's or motorola devices... again not undervolt..big and ugly. Even when the dinc first came out with verizon it was the featured phone for only 30 - 60 days. then not even on display. and how much fun was getting the tv out cable( wich many verizon emplees told me does not exist) only to find out it does not work very well..Htc makes some of the best phones! Add verizon...Htc + big red= undervolt... too bad .

[Q] Incredible questions asap

I need some help please. I might buy this tonight. Just have couple questions. Please forgive the rush or if answers are elsewhere.
1: how does the incredible screen compare to fascinate and droid x? It has 3.7" 800x480 and droid x and fascinate bigger but same res.
Can I get swype for the incredible and how?
Can I get a stylus for incredible local in Seattle WA or online? I prefer stylus with swype.
How is smoothness of os?
Do the button on bottom light up good and be better then fascinate? Fascinate only lights up after you touch. That's stupid. I need to see them in dark rooms.
How hard to have roms? Don't wanna brick. Might like to try roms.
How is browser text reflow and smoothness of it and zooming?
Was thinking of getting it now on 1 year contract then upgrade.
I tried the fascinate but took it back the next day. Hated how the button lights only lit up after you touch them and they wouldn't stay lit long.
Was hoping for bit better text quality like reading the web. I have iPod touch 2nd gen and screen sucks compared to new stuff.
Thanks
Well... the Incredible is a badass phone, and all the things you're looking for are some of the greatest features of the phone. There are a plethora of custom ROMs available, most of which are stable and currently supported. Incredible had the first from-source Gingerbread ROM, and now sports at least 3 stable Gingerbread ROMs... As for a stylus, you might find luck with a Capacitive Stylus from HTC, and you can install Swype, but there are many other excellent keyboard options available that I personally prefer over any sort of Swype technology. It has WiFi Tethering, very fast browser, and Flash video built in.
All that being said, if you already have a decent phone and aren't in a big hurry to get a new phone, you might want to wait until the HTC Thunderbolt is released, as it is the Incredible's big brother - and identical to the Evo in MOST features.

How is the screen quality for text? Reading the web and stuff. I'm just curious because it's important to me. The size is smaller then I prefer but it's not bad considering I can get it for cheap with the 1 year contract and my business discount.
The thunderbolt seems cool. Just upset that they kept the same dang resolution. To me that's pathetic and unacceptable. Ticks me off lol. I want 1024x768 or whatever on a 4" or bigger. Meaning wish list. iPhone screen is amazing and would love something like that. I would like it bright too.
Umm. How would a rom be put on it? Is it simple like just install and it does everything?
I am just nervous because of thunderbolt coming and it's screen etc. I'm thinking of cost and myself being so impatient. I have no phone now. Took fascinate back next day after I bought it and canceled my line. Only had it the one day.
Where are some pics of roms?
I thank you all very much.
Hi,
Some questions I can help with; others, not so much.
I converted to the Incredible from BlackBerry a couple of weeks ago, and one aspect of the learning curve has been getting accustomed to the text size. I notice it mostly on the browser. The screen zoom is a huge plus for me.
I've tried Swipe (beta), but without a stylus. It worked pretty darn good--and I liked its accuracy, as well. It just stopped working one day, though; don't know why.
Pictures of ROMs... The ROMs aren't hardware; they are firmware. Do you mean screenshots of the different ROMs? Those are available by doing a search, here or elsewhere.
Good luck with your purchase, and please post back here with your choice.
Cheers!

Screenshots yeah.
I had the Touch pro 2 and loved swype. I wrote more just to use it. Stylus makes it easier cus I could see the letters better.
How clear is the text and how do the lights work on the buttons? I'm curious of how good thunderbolt screen will be. Same res.
Lights on the buttons are based on room lighting. If the room is bright, the buttons are off. If room is dark, the buttons are lit whenever the screen is lit. The buttons are very bright. I actually wished they had a brightness setting so I could turn them down, that's how bright they are.
If you're getting a new phone, as long as it's not new old stock, I think it should have the SLCD screen which is very crisp and sharp. Most people prefer the AMOLED for some reason, but I prefer the SLCD by far. The AMOLED screen looks grainy, like it has a worse dot pitch than the SLCD. Ever heard of the term "screen door effect" to describe a video screen with too much gap between the pixels? That's how the AMOLED looks to me. The colors are very vibrant, but TOO vibrant, very over-saturated and fake looking. The SLCD, in comparison, is very crisp and smooth, text is much crisper and sharper. Colors look much more natural. You can tell the AMOLED from SLCD by going to Settings -> About Phone -> Hardware Information. Look for Hardware Version. 0002 = AMOLED, 0003 = SLCD.
Thanks so much.
I went today a few hrs ago and got the incredible. 14 day return window so I may exchange it for the thunderbolt. I got a clear screen protector and case. Not antiglare as that makes it look like I'm looking through a screen. So I prefer clear.
Got it for around $160 or so and a $50 mail in rebate on top of that bringing it to about $120-$140 total for the phone and 1 year contract.
Hardware says 0003.
Screen is Very nice. Crisp. Smooth ui. Nice lighting on the capacitive buttons. Don't like the htc keyboard though. Need swype. How do I do that? Box says it has 2gb sd card preinstalled. I thought it had 8gb storage?
Hmm. Once I get swype and if I like it I'll be able to get a stylus verizon sells for the iPad. Capacitive stylus is all it is. Awesome cus it's available in the store. I didn't get it cus I want to get swype on here first.

to get swype go here http://beta.swype.com/ and I think that it is still open but I'm not sure... then when you get the email dl the installer and install swype... remember to go to keyboards and select swype as an input method but I think the installer does it for you automatic...
the 003 is a SLCD which looks great but the amoled original has deeper contrast...
honestly the galaxy s screen is the best screen in verizons line up but the samsung ui isn't as polished as HTC sense... enjoy your incredible
It should also be mentioned that the Amoled screen also suffers from burn in. I have had mine less than 6 months and the notification bar clock and the buttons for Google Listen show plainly on any white screen .Even with insurance (best buy) there is a $150 deductible and the loaner is a pos flip phone.
Also keep metal filings, rust, fine steal wool and the like away from the rear speaker. Magnetic/ferrous stuff can get in there and will make it sound like it is blown.
One other thing, If you are going to get a case I have to recommend the 3 layer armor case from Seidio. Normally I swear by OtterBox but they pushed the Inc aside for the Iphone. The reviews for the armored OtterBox have mentioned a loose fit and such. I have no such issues with the Seidio. I went with the armored 3 layer one w/belt clip and have been very satisfied. I cried when I dropped my first Dinc without a case.
You also might want to think about a spare battery and a charger for it. Bright screens and 1ghz cpus eat 1300mAh batterys for brunch. At least that is when mine dies, I wake 5am so about 5-6 hours full use, streaming wifi audio out of speaker with gps going, and widgets all over the place. I got the 1750 that fits with the same stock back so I can still use standard cases.
All and all. I Love this phone.
Yikes! I had no idea AMOLED suffers burn-in. It makes complete sense though, it just never occurred to me before. I searched Google and found many people reported it.
Yes, the Incredible comes with a 2GB SD card, but it does have 8GB of storage too. So altogether you have 10GB.
Just don't leave the screen on for over a 8 hour period, otherwise you should be fine

I like my droid incredible. Got it yesterday. Got stylus for using it with swype today. I can't even imagine how awesome it'd be with a much higher res.
I got the phone for $130 about for 1 year cost. After $50 rebate of course. Actually it cost me $169 with 1 year cost. Then $120 after the rebate. So this should be fine for a year and hopefully HTC will release a 4.3" screen with big resolution.

Hmmmmmmmmm

I love this freagin Phone Gawt Damn it.

I don't care about the little freaky glitches or that the battery only lasts a day with moderate usage(typical android and pretty good for htc). The phone is damn sexy, HTC sense for once works for me and I like it. The screen is out of this world, and it takes a second for my eyes to accept the low resolution, and clarity of the real world when I take my eyes of the screen. I love the quality of pictures it takes and really expected far worse from an HTC camera. The design and feel is sexy. Not to heavy and not to light, 4.7 inches and it feels like a much smaller phone. Little cute LED to let me know what I am missing(not the strobe light that upsets my wife at night on the galaxy nexus). Its the first phone that makes me want to whisper love poems to it.
Now where are the damn screen protectors and cases worthy of her beauty?
There is a white one x sitting in my amazon cart right now, taunting me. I bought the GNote at launch and I love it but its not a bad idea to have a smaller phone for other situations. The one x seems pretty damn impressive. I have a feeling that with it not being sold in the US in quad core form, it will hold its value pretty well. At least until the inevitable sgs3 drops damnit Im addicted to phones

Thats true the value in the states will stay high. I loved my note but this phone just feels special.
In love
I'm definitely in love with the One X too! I have the Gnex and it's getting pretty jealous right now, lol. Screen is so much better and it's so fast. Also real pleased with all the dev going on, makes me feel better about my purchase. I've had a few screen glitches but only since I rooted and went with custom roms. Although I unlocked the bootloader in less then 24 hours so not much chance to give stock a good run. My employer offset the cost and put in $300 towards my new baby so it was a bargain!!! Very pleased overall.
Pulled the trigger on a white one. One day shipping should put it in my hands before I leave for vacation weds afternoon

Noon. Leave it naked...the best way to appreciate its beauty.
Well no glitches or problems for me! bought a white version and I LOVE IT! what a fantastic phone! Very happy to be a HTC customer!
I love the phone too just wished the battery was a little better but the camera is pretty good and the best i have seen on a phone. It's light feels great. Really good screen over saturates on some colours however the quad core is a power house.
I noticed you on AT&T do you have the snap dragon version? Or did you get the unlocked global version?

I get 4G on AT&T in Texas on mine.
Oh, and I completely echo the sentiment of the OP: This phone is the ****.
Yep, I got the grey one since I dont rly like the white color. White is timeless, agreed, and can look pretty elegant (and expensive), but I am more the dark type of person (color preference, not personality or style ) like more the decent, non attention colors. Grey just fits me quite well, and yes, its one damn beauty.
Sense 4.0 still got its issues, like pretty borked memory management (Rosie Reloads anyone? Drives me crazy sometimes) and bugged Tegra 3 drivers. Tegra 2 Games and Apps mostly run horrible, and the Tegra 3 enabled Games start to lag quite abit when alot interaction is going on.
Software-wise, and performance-wise, this phone is capable of so much more. Just look that the Transformer Prime with Tegra 3. It has a similar screen resolution, but almost EVERYTHING runs effin smooth on this baby. That is just ONE proof that HTC ****ed up the rushed release with its buggy software. Cant wait for a new, optimized and more ironed out firmware upgrade!
Camera Performance isn't final as well. I guess the bad performance is due to some missing optimizations, the hardware is great.
Overall, I dont regret switching from my Galaxy S2 i9100 to the One X, knowing it can do even better than it already does.
