ok i have a radio in my car that i can plug my g2 into to listen to my music. As soon as i sync the phone all the GPS directions i have ever got start up. i use my phones gps every day about ten times. i have well over 300ish GPS voice directions i have to skip through just to get to my music.
Q: how to i delete them and how do i stop them from saving?
Any one?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Well it would help to know what nav app you are using. If its google open the app and delete previous searches
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Yea sorry goggle map and navigation. How do you clear them? I went to setting but did not find anything
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Its actually not in the Maps app itself. Go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications, and find "Maps" in the "All" tab. Select Maps, and press "Clear data".
Thanks
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA Premium App
Nope did not work
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Crap! I could of swore there was a long press option in earlier versions to delete...guess not. Doesn't make sense to leave that out
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA Premium App
Stuff is very annoying....lol. any other ideas?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Going to settings, application, manage applications and clear data from maps and it deletes everything. Pain in the rear because its like opening up for the first time ever after doing that.
Read somewhere else that over time they get removed but something about that doesn't feel right.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA Premium App
I've done that with no luck. Every time I plug in my phone to the radio its makeing me feel like its not even worth it any more.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
What type of radio do you have? I have a kenwood and it works fine with mine as long as I put the music in a folder with a specific name and a small file that came in a cd with the radio
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
That did not work
None of mine have been deleted.
Also now I have about 15 new songs on my phone that I did not download. I can not delete then in (Music) . I can not find them in astro. I only find the on my radio.
Any one know what's going on? Could I have a virus?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
I'm about to through this thing out th's windows!!!!!!!
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
can't you search folders when you mount the sd card? just put your music in a specific folder and navigate to that. it would help to know what kind of head unit you have.
in my experience (I have a usb compatible head unit as well), usb connection sucks. use the auxiliary jack.. so much simpler.
You can't safely control ur music then

I want to know if people are getting this app to work on their phone. Couldn't really find any threads like this. I used to use my old phone in my accord and ums made it simple to show my music on the screen. I tried using this app but it doesn't seem to work in the accord. It's stuck on usb load screen. Has anyone gotten it to work in their cars and if so what model I think it might not work on all cars because it works in my dad's bimmer

Actually it probably has more to do with what you are using it for. I use this app and have never had a problem with it. But I have never used it to connect to my car stereo or anything like that.
Have you tried another version if the app? Maybe connectibg via bluetooth would work better?

Have you looked onto any wireless solutions? I think you have to be rooted for most, but don't quote me on that. I use SwiFTP and love it. There are others on the market as well.

My car doesn't support a2dp the stock stereo is really nice and integrated with the rest of the dashboard so I don't wanna replace it with a new one. It's odd that the app works with my dad's car but not mine. I know it's at least reading it because when it was on mtp it would just say unsupported rather than usb load. Normally that load screen is only there for a second or 2 and starts playing immediately. I'll try another build of the app if not I guess aux cable it is although it's nice to have one cable for charge and music and have it display the song on the screen

Also try it with usb debugging on and off.

Maybe try moving a file to the parent/root directory of the external sd card to see if your car can read that?

How do I do that? You mean the root folder? Isn't that for the internal sd card also I had no luck with usb debugging. The app doesn't even seem to work with it off
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Like placing a file in the parent folder /mnt/extSdCard instead of /mnt/extSdCard/Music

Using generic ones have caused other issues for some people.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Honestly I've tried everything lol someone said that the mtp is still there for the internal storage so the car might be trying to read that and that's why it's not working

I'm running out of ideas for ya man. Sorry.
All I can think to try now is maybe a custom kernel or another rom.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
That's the only thing I haven't tried but thanks for ur suggestions. Still puzzles me how it works in one car and not the other now ill make sure my next car has a2dp support

One more thing I just remembered! Try removing the MusicFX.apk and .odex. This helped someone else connect to a radio they were having trouble with.
Just remove from /system/app/. Then reboot thMake a backup of them first in case it doesn't help. If it does, flash dsp manager to replace it.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Just installed a new rom that already has dsp and no musicfx so I'll see if it works.btw its deodexed not odexed should I odex it there's an app for it with the rom don't really know the difference though
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I wouldn't until you try as it is. If it doesn't work then try odexing but I doubt it'll have an effect.

Recently I have problem with contact picture. Whenever I try to set a contact picture, after I select a photo, it does not appear as contact picture instead require me to select again.
And something puzzling me is that some of the whatsapp contact picture will be shown, but not all, some appear as blank though the person does have a contact picture.
PS: it is a virgin phone

Sent from my One V using xda premium
Yes.
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app
Mm I really don't know. Maybe you can back up the whole thing. Go back to factory settings, see if it makes any differences. And put your backup back.
Or backup, flash RUU and then place your backup back if it is working by then.
Sent from my One V using xda premium
Yeah I am planning to do so. Something wrong with the stock contact app. I can't even save /rename a contact
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app
Exactly same problem.
Stock ROM. Been to service station thrice but still same problem along with many others
So far factory setting solve the problem but I am not too sure whether this problem will occur again

Hope it will keep working then!

Hopefully. So far I still really love this phone.

Facebook may be the cause
I found that if I use the Facebook app, all of my contacts change to the picture that they put on their facebook page. I just don't use facebook from my phone. I don't have that problem with Twitter.
Hope this helps.:fingers-crossed:
You can change the setting at facebook. Go to account - app setting - scroll to the bottom and then there is one called contact sync. You can select not to sync withfacebook contact

This app is another representation on how the man will control you. This app does nothing but harvest your data, sell it to the appropriate entities and not allow you to play how you want. The music industry is trying to pull a quick one on you. Extract the APK if you dont believe me. I personally will stick to other ways to get my music free
We did just get a whole album for free.......right?

I see you saying this, but what data does it harvest. What are you seeing in the decompile app that proves this? I don't even have the app in just curious why your making these claims and very broad claims too.

It doesnt even take that level of investigation. It's just common sense
THIS APPLICATION HAS ACCESS TO THE FOLLOWING:
YOUR LOCATION
APPROXIMATE LOCATION (NETWORK-BASED)
Allows the app to get your approximate location. This location is derived by location services using network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine approximately where you are.
PRECISE LOCATION (GPS AND NETWORK-BASED)
Allows the app to get your precise location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine where you are, and may consume additional battery power.
NETWORK COMMUNICATION
FULL NETWORK ACCESS
Allows the app to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.
PHONE CALLS
READ PHONE STATUS AND IDENTITY
Allows the app to access the phone features of the device. This permission allows the app to determine the phone number and device IDs, whether a call is active, and the remote number connected by a call.
STORAGE
MODIFY OR DELETE THE CONTENTS OF YOUR USB STORAGE
Allows the app to write to the USB storage.
YOUR APPLICATIONS INFORMATION
RETRIEVE RUNNING APPS
Allows the app to retrieve information about currently and recently running tasks. This may allow the app to discover information about which applications are used on the device.
