Emergency battery charger - Atrix 4G Accessories

i buy time ago this product
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/solar-powered-2000mah-rechargeable-portable-emergency-power-with-phone-adapters-led-light-42139
and was working awesome to me, when i have my N1 give me some juice when i was camping and no energy around, and the light its a plus i like so much, perhaps isnt working for atrix seems motorola needs more power to feed up anyone knows a cheap emergency battery like this?? i dont want expend a lot in power mat since i use this when im out of city

I use a Zagg Sparq from zagg.com. I got one of them for 50.00 US.
I used a coupon from one of their promotions. If you enter their contents and are not in a hurry you can probably get a coupon as well. I use it all the time while camping and it works great.

"seems motorola needs more power to feed up"
Well, yes, a standard single-AA cell "booster" can't suplly the entire ~1900mA that the Atrix battery can take. So it may only give you 1/2 or 3/4 charge and then you'll need a new battery and still more time to recharge.
But if you look around for any standard "booster" that has a miniUSB (and micro converter) or microUSB adapter on it, it WILL charge the Atrix until it runs out of power. Some of them use a 5v lithium cell instead of a AA cell, that's more likely to do a good job but again, that needs to be recharged too.

So Ebay batteries?

So I know there are a couple of posts on here but I have found them a little hard to follow. I just got my captivate last sunday and on the stock 2.1 rogers rom I noticed that the battery life was very poor. Since then I am now running cog 3.01 i think and my battery life is now alot longer than before.
For the way I would like to use my phone It is still not enough for what would make me happy. my phone is unplugged at 6:00 am and when i get home by 5 it used to be dead but after "breaking in the battery" and the new rom i get home with about %15 percent battery.
I just bought a triple battery pack off of ebay for $10. these batteries are rated at 1500 mAh, the same as the battery that came with my phone. I am just wondering what I can expect from these batteries.
My plan is to drain two of them completely then leave them in my desk drawer(from what I have read if you plan on storing batteries they should be completely drained first) and use one of them plus my oem battery daily(until they start to lose performance). Again does anyone have any experience with a battery of the sort or any similar third party battery?
they are no where as good as samsung oem battery. even though it says 1500mah it is not or will drop drastically after a month or so of use...i've bought a lot of those batteries from ebay and they always like that even some other well known companies like Seidio do not compare with manufacture's batteries. the difference is usable capacity, oem batteries are around 95% compared to cheap chinese ones that are anywhere from 60-80%.
haha thanks that makes sense why they are so cheap, well i will probs by three new ones every months or so.
I have those ebay batteries. I bought the kit that comes with two batteries and an external charger for about $10.
The ebay battery is has about 60-70% of the power of the OEM battery. I have no real hard evidence just from using it for the past 2 months or so.
I am ok that it is does not last as long as OEM because it was only $10 and it came with the external charger. I love the external charger because it allows me to charge a spare battery while I keep one in my phone.

I bought the same ensemble, with essentially the same results excepting perhaps that one of my replacement batteries seems to underperform with about 40% of OEM battery life.
That said, for $10... they're very handy as backups. They'll easily give you a few more hours in a pinch, which is essentially just what I was looking for. I really have no complaints in that respect.
The best strategy for battery life I've found is to buy a handful of wall adapters and position them in places you spend a lot of time at, and to develop a habit of plugging in when you're not moving around.
Sad but true, but mediocre battery life is just kind of a way of life for these (and really all) high-performance Android devices. Excepting getting an outsized and expensive battery replacement like the Seidio 3500 mAh that all but prevents use with many accessories and cases, a couple wall chargers and a car charger are effective if mildly annoying means of managing it.
These generic Hong Kong replacements are entirely effective as emergency supplements, but you'll find yourself preferring the OEM cell still.
Yep I mean for $20 I have two charges and 4 batteries so if I need to go without power , even if not a 100% match for the oem power, it is still damn cheap.
I also got one of these from ebay.
I got the 2x 1500mah batteries + Battery Charger combo.
I must say I am impressed. They are the same quality as my OEM battery. Its so convenient. I never have to run to a charger anymore. Just keep the spare battery in my car or wherever and just pop it in and carry on with my daily business.
When I get home, I just re-charge all the batteries. The Battery Charger even has an LED Light that tells you when its finished. "RED: while charging" and "BLUE: when finished". Charging takes about roughly 3 hours, (just like OEM).
Edit: Been using this for about a month so far. With no problems.. Its the best feeling. My phone is never plugged in anymore. And, I don't have to "pinch the settings" to make my phone last.
IE. lowering brightness to 10%, turning sync off, turning wireless networks off, etc.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
only crappy thing is??? I plan to sell this phone soon, when the Galaxy S 2 comes out, if the specs are good enough.

Would you mind posting the link or giving us the name of the exact vendor you ordered from?... I'm about to order the 2xbatteries and charger combo, but just want to make sure I get batteries that are half way decent. When I search on eBay I get about 20 vendors selling similar combos and given that in HK they're celebrating Chinese New Year... most won't fulfill orders until next week.
i wouldnt waste your money unless you just want an extra.

Chargeable battery..

So a dude i worked with showed me his android phone.. he had a chargeable battery pack on his phone, like it was a case.. and it charged his phone while he used it.. he said it works great, he listens to music all day at work and uses his phone and his 4g is running and his battery power is great, he said it cost like 60 in stores but he got a deal and got it for like half price.. anyone know what he is possibly talking about? I just checked the tmobile site, and two things i came across that sound familiar.. Powermat 2X Mat with Powercube and Galaxy S II PowerSkin. Anyone know? Thanks. Also, is it worth getting something like what he has, or just buying another extra battery and wlaking around with that? I will like to start using my phone as my music player at work (working like 10-12hrs a day)
The powerskin is what that is, and it all depends on if you dont mind the extra bulk on your phone. If you don't mind your phone being a little thicker than yeah .. go with the powerskin .. if you don't want a brick in your pocket (metaphorically speaking) then just carry an extra battery.
I use something similar. I use a Powermat portable charger. I believe with the Powermat mat you have to have a receiver on your phone and it has to be in contact with the mat to charge, but if you get a portable charger it just plugs into the microUSB port and charges like a normal charger. Only thing is is the one I got will only charge my phone about 50 - 60% in about 2 hours because I think it's underpowered. But going around the day with 160% battery is good enough for me.
And I use Google Music a lot too I don't know about 10 - 12 hours a day but yeah.
i just bought a handfull of eBay batteries and leave them in my car

Solar battery

I'm going camping for a week and I won't be near a power socket. I'm looking at solar powered batteries to see if they are feasible but I don't want to spend a fortune unless I really have to. I've seen some on Amazon etc. but they seem to get very mixed reviews and in a lot of cases people complain they won't charge their iphone or whatever and I'm just thinking, with the HOX is there a minimum output I should be looking at ?
Are there any other factors I should bear in mind ?
Has anyone tried any and if so any recommendations ?
Thanks!
First off I would make sure that it can supply 1amp. However since this is dependent on sunshine, there is no way you can tell how much power it will actually give you. A better and more useful option is to buy one of those secondary battery packs. I've seen those go as high as 20,000ma which would give you over 10 full charges. They look nice and are not extremely bulky, certainly smaller than the solar charger.

First off, I do not think an USB port gives ya 1amp also. So the 1amp requirement might be overrated. Ofc it will charge much slower (or you wont in worst case scenario use the phone while "charging").
Second off, what I saw of solar packs, they have usually a li-ion battery pack supplied for those times where is not enough light and you need little more current it could give you. (Or the solar panel is just recharging the internal battery and you charge from that etc.)
Also are you sure about the bulky size of the solar charge vs extra bat? I mean, when you go external you wont care much about the + few cm of the solar charger as you wont have it in your pocket the whole time.
I wouldn't condemn a solar charger just yet.
So I would look for a solar pack with extended battery and read reviews if it doesn't suck which is an advice to about every piece of equip
Look at the solio bolt, got one and it is working as expected. I think it is the best you could get, but it is no magic, you need a full day of really good sun to charge the bolt

The one with solar panel is a joke. You need direct sunlight and it will be charging for a day, waste of money.
You are looking for external battery. Those are inexpensive, I reviewed a ton of those (did you see a sticky at the top of the forum with all my reviews?). Or you can check out link directly from my signature.
Best one, the most popular brand on amazon hundreds/thousands of 5-star reviews, which I have reviewed is by Anker. For what you are looking, you should get the highest capacity which is also compact enough for traveling. For $50 you either get new gen Astro 3, 12000 mAh (http://www.amazon.com/12000mAh-External-Battery-Technology-Smartphones/dp/B00CEZBKTO/) or older Astro E5, 15000 mAh (http://www.amazon.com/15000mAh-Portable-Ultra-High-Capacity-External/dp/B00D5T3QK4/). Don't know what phone you have, but most likely these will be 6x-7x capacity of your phone battery. So we are talking about at least a day or so of continuous use with your phone Read my reviews to find out which one you like better.
thanks man i didnt even know they could go that long i was expecting 4-6 hours of continuous use.
i have galaxy s3 right now
and with that in mind i wanted the solar panel so i can leave it trickle charging while its sitting unused.
i dont plan to use it every day just when im away from charger on long trips when using navigation or airplane and such.
or camping for several days with no electrical outlets around
how bad is the solar charging on them
can yougive me an idea for example if i would leave it in the sun for a day ( sunny day)

From everything I've read, you have to leave it in direct sunlight for many hours just to recharge it back to 50%. Almost doesn't seem worth it.
Here is one i'm thinking of trying.
G power, power bank power modular.
power bank with 6000mAh upto 42000mAh or more, with included solar panel charger on the move.
ignore the 20 second advertising in the video.

I have a battery pack with solar...Useless I will say. Charging the pack goes quicker on direct ac than leaving it in the sun, charges extremely slow. I regret purchasing and does not even hold a charge that long.

Chinese battery cases

Anybody try any of the ~$15 battery cases on eBay from China? About 10 listings pop-up without trying, but all seem to be the same, from the description anyway... Just seems like for the money if it even extends battery life 50% it is a bargain.

EDIT: eh, it was $14 so went ahead and ordered one, will report back in a few weeks.
Very interested in hearing back about this. Bought a new phone for Dad so I am going to reuse his old nexus 5 as a second phone. Will try to pimp it out and the first thing I need is exactly this. Been researching on "larger batteries" (all fake lol) but I believe this is the next best thing.
Any news on this? Seem very interesting. Will also buy a new battery, but this will be better than the LG G2 battery mod.

Sorry... Forgot about this thread. The battery case worked fine although I didn't get to test it much as I sold the phone and case a couple weeks later to a guy in rough spot for next to nothing. He is still using it a few months later with no problems.
I got one of this and I rather use power bank to charge it
Cons:
Little to no protection on the phone, I have to cut a rubber case in order to use it
No pass-through charging. The case itself will NOT charge when your phone is in the case. At the end, you got 100% on your phone but 0% in the case, even you have already plugged in. So if you need to charge both devices, you have to take them apart and charge them seperately.
Slow charge rate, the case charges N5 slow when you are using it at the same time, so the juice perecentage will probably still drop, but slower.
Heat. This thing is warm or even hot when operating under heavy usage. With its build quality, I did worry about something bad could happen.
Comment:
It is not so good and the build quality is also average. But since it is the only battery case that we can buy after 3 years, it is still useful as a backup battery. Just don't use the phone heavily on the go when the case is chaging your phone. (That's why I switched back to power bank…)
